Episode 1 - The Plague

Francis and Mary are plummeted into chaos after the Black Plague ravages the land and creeps inside the castle, threatening lives and the stability of their new rule.

  

Episode 2 - Drawn and Quartered

In the aftermath of the plague, a powerful lord (guest star Craig Parker) discovers that Mary was responsible for the death of his son and demands vengeance, testing the loyalties of Mary, Francis and Catherine. Francis returns to the castle with Lola and their newborn son, creating tension with Mary. Greer is torn by her loyalty to her fiance, Lord Castleroy (guest star Michael Therriault), who blames Leith for his daughter's demise. Meanwhile, Kenna urges Bash to be formally recognized in his new role.

  

Episode 3 - Coronation

With France in a state of famine, as well as religious and political unrest, Mary looks for a way to feed the people, risking the wrath of a vengeful Lord Narcisse (guest star Craig Parker). Francis is preoccupied by the harrowing suspicion that his dead father's spirit can possess the living and is haunting Francis as revenge for his murder. As Catherine makes excessive and lavish preparations for a coronation ceremony to give the impression of stability to the realm, Bash confronts the reality of a country plagued by fear, bankruptcy, and murder.

  

Episode 4 - The Lamb and the Slaughter

When a shepherd is attacked by shadowy riders in the night, Bash (Torrance Coombs) and Lord Conde (Sean Teale) investigate what may be the unrest of angry spirits or the beginnings of a religious war. Mary (Adelaide Kane) examines her relationship with Lola (Anna Popplewell) in light of the upcoming christening, with Francis' (Toby Regbo) illegitimate child serving as both a bond and an obstacle between them. Greer (Celina Sinden) takes control of her future when Leith (Jonathan Keltz) returns to court. Meanwhile, Lola feels something is awry when Lord Narcisse (guest star Craig Parker) introduces his familiar new bride. Megan Follows and Caitlin Stasey also star.

  

Episode 5 - Blood for Blood

Tensions between Protestants and Catholics escalate when bloodshed at a Protestant service causes an already concerned Mary and Francis to intervene on the eve of Greer's wedding. Bash and Leith lead a search for the guilty that reveals a surprising secret about Castleroy that could destroy his union with Greer. Meanwhile, Francis receives an unwelcome gift from his dead father. Kenna discovers a sex journal, with clues leading to the best lover at court, who just might be a match for Lola.

  

Episode 6 - Three Queens

Upon encountering a mob of angry peasants, Queens Mary and Catherine find themselves concealing their true identities after being forced to abandon their carriage and escape into the woods. Fearful the uprising is a response to his own actions, Francis forms a search party that includes Leith and Conde, only to discover the attack is actually a result of impostors abusing the power of the crown. Meanwhile, Lola sets out to become financially independent but, in the process, finds herself considering a complicated yet intriguing offer from Lord Narcisse (Craig Parker). Torrance Coombs, Caitlin Stasey and Celina Sinden also star.

  

Episode 7 - The Prince of the Blood

Young, reckless and provocative Princess Claude (guest star Rose Williams) makes a surprise visit home, torturing her already haunted mother, Catherine. Francis is pressured by Narcisse (Craig Parker) to act against his conscience or risk his throne and his wife. Mary finds a new ally in Conde (Sean Teale). Francis confides in Bash and hatches a plot that involves an uncertain Lola. Kenna mistakes Claude for a newfound friend, while Greer returns earlier than expected from her wedding tour. Episode 8 - Terror of the Faithful

Tensions escalate between Mary and Francis when Vatican inquisitors perform barbaric acts on anyone suspected of being a Protestant. After a brave proclamation, Lord Conde is abducted, resulting in a precarious situation with a surprising group of assailants. Catherine experiences an annoying setback when she plays matchmaker on behalf of a reluctant Claude (Rose Williams), while Narcisse offers a stranded Lola an innocent horse ride back to the castle, where a dark secret involving Francis is revealed. Episode 9 - Acts of War

With a holiday celebration around the corner, Bash uncovers what could be the answer to Francis finally escaping the oppressive thumb of Lord Narcisse (Craig Parker), and the two formulate a daring plan. Meanwhile, Mary proposes the radical idea of marrying the Protestant Lord Conde (Sean Teale) to the Catholic Claude (Rose Williams), a scheme that she believes a viable path forward to peace, but Claude has other plans in store. As preparations are made for the upcoming feast, Greer discovers that she may be more involved with the Protestant movement than she originally thought.

  

Episode 10 - Mercy

In the aftermath of an attack on the castle, a blood-thirsty Francis makes a startling decision that will forever change his rule as the King of France, causing him to track the missing Narcisse (Craig Parker) with a newfound lust for revenge. Meanwhile, Mary is stunned to discover the truth behind Francis' recent decisions and embarks on a treacherous mission of her own with Lord Conde (Sean Teale). Leith urgently pleads with Greer to flee the country after violence erupts across the land. Catherine receives an unexpected and erotic visit in her chambers after making a final decision regarding the fate of her daughter Claude (Rose Williams). Episode 11 - Getaway

Mary takes action to save Conde when she learns the Vatican is hunting him for bearing the branded mark of the Dark Riders. Francis devises a plan to put an end to the Dark Riders legend, which puts Bash at risk. Meanwhile, Kenna reveals Catherine's ulterior motives to Claude (Rose Williams). Celina Sinden, Craig Parker, Jonathan Keltz and Anna Popplewell also star.

  

Episode 12 - Banished

Mary finds out the truth from Greer about rumors going around Court, forcing Mary to do something she never thought possible. Francis finds himself in a growing rivalry with Conde for Mary. Bash's mother Diane (guest star Anna Walton) returns, igniting a long-overdue confrontation with Catherine, while Claude (Rose Williams) is determined to find out the truth about who really killed the twins. Episode 13 - Sins of the Past

As the castle prepares for the Winter's Ease Feast, King Antoine (guest star Ben Aldridge) of Navarre reveals to Francis and Mary England's plan for revenge against France. Bash learns that an "undead" man has been seen in the village and his efforts to track the man down lead him to a mysterious woman in white. Episode 14 - The End of Mourning

As Mary and Francis investigate who was behind the poisoning of King Henry (Alan Van Sprang), they unearth secrets of the past which force Mary to confront her feelings for Conde as she attempts to move forward. Catherine finds herself in the middle of a romantic triangle when the Duke of Guise (guest star Gil Darnell) returns, which forces Narcisse (Craig Parker) to commit a hideous act out of desperation. Meanwhile, Greer (Celina Sinden) finds herself in a situation she never fathomed in order to survive.

  

Episode 15 - Forbidden

Mary's mother (guest star Amy Brenneman) returns to advise Mary that her throne is in jeopardy. Mary makes a shocking proposition to Conde (Sean Teale), along with a bold move to reclaim her throne. Francis moves closer to Lola after a setback with Mary, while King Antoine (guest star Ben Aldridge) makes Kenna an interesting offer. Episode 16 - Tasting Revenge

Bash and Kenna's marriage is beyond repair after he learns of her scheming, while Leith (Jonathan Keltz) discovers Greer's unsavory new career path. Episode 17 - Tempting Fate

When Catherine becomes suspicious that Mary and Conde are having an affair, Mary risks Catherine discovering just how deep her betrayal goes. Francis becomes gravely ill after he collapses and Bash's life is in jeopardy when he leaves to work as the King's Deputy. Meanwhile, things become complicated for Leith (Jonathan Keltz) when he is forced to be Claude's (Rose Williams) personal guard after professing his love for Greer. Episode 18 - Reversal of Fortune

While Francis' life hangs in the balance, Mary becomes the temporary leader of France, which makes her realize she can use her newfound power to save Scotland. Catherine, knowing about Mary's indiscretion with Conde, enlists in Narcisse (Craig Parker) to help beat Mary at her own game. Meanwhile, Bash, having been saved by a Woman in White and determined to send his attempted murderer to death, discovers a familiar face in the village. Episode 19 - Abandoned

Mary, with the threat of England looming, aligns herself with France and thus, the ailing Francis. Conde makes a bold move that would tie him to England. With all of the turmoil, Catherine and Narcisse work to win favor in court. Meanwhile, Kenna gets closer to General Renaude (guest star Vincent Nappo) as Bash becomes increasingly distant. Episode 20 - Fugitive

Mary goes to extremes to halt Francis from his quest to catch Conde at any cost. Catherine, jealous of Narcisse's relationship with Lola, asks him to do something unforgivable to prove himself, Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) crosses a line with General Renaude (guest star Vincent Nappo) and Greer makes a choice that might end her relationship with Leith. Episode 21 - The Siege

As troops are about to descend on the castle, Mary and Francis must put aside their differences to determine the extent of Conde's betrayal. Mary also learns of a bittersweet revelation that tears her apart and makes her question everything. Meanwhile, Catherine decides to teach Narcisse a lesson to prove he can never cross her again and Bash decides to bring Delphine (guest star Alexandra Ordolis) to the castle. Mary risks everything to take down Conde, even as Francis believes she is turning against France.
