Episode 1 - The End of InnocencePerth, Australia, in the 1960s was an innocent city where the people never locked their doors. But a shocking murder occurs, quickly blamed on a lover. Then a shooting. Then a brutal attack attributed to a young drifter. Finally a hit and run, seemingly just an angry young man. All apparently random – yet there were links the detectives just hadn’t or wouldn’t connect.

Episode 2 - The StingJohn and Rosemary were an ordinary young couple. And then Rosemary was hit by a car and killed. John was arrested, interrogated, and signed a confession. Meanwhile, in a seemingly unrelated case, a gun had been found, and police set a trap to catch the owner. When Eric Edgar Cooke is caught and confessed to Rosemary’s killing, John believed he would be cleared. But his nightmare was far from over.

Episode 3 - The ConfessionTwo men are behind bars, and the police are confident they have finally caught the Night Caller when Eric Edgar Cooke is caught retrieving his stashed gun. And then he confesses to the killings the other men were convicted of, but police won’t believe him. An intrepid journalist will unravel the cases to find the truth and exonerate the innocent.

Episode 4 - The LegacyOnce it had been determined that John Button was innocent, the review of Darryl Beamish’s case revealed gross corruption by the police, and he was pronounced innocent as well. But the legacy of the brutal crimes – for the victims, the innocent, and the real killer’s family – continue to this day.
