Episode 1 - The 40 Year-Old Virgin QueenA year has gone by, and Molly Kagan's happy ending has fallen apart; her children's book didn't sell, Sam preferred his old life, and her ex-husband is bouncing checks because he sank all his money into his latest film. Realizing she must rely on herself, Molly joins a writer's workshop to give her career a shot in the arm. Intimidated at first, reading from her private diary wins Molly the praise of the group. Things are looking up, but when Molly refuses to sell the dirt in her diary, it goes missing after a party.

Episode 1 - PilotHollywood wife Molly Kagen's life of luxury comes tumbling down when her husband Kenny, president of a prominent movie studio, asks her for a divorce. Humiliated, she retreats to Malibu with her 3-year-old daughter. Her friends face their own problems. Joan has secretly entered rehab, Rodney's interior design career is on life support, and Cricket's relationship with her husband Jorge is struggling. Cut off from the world she knows, Molly begins to reevaluate her life, and a near death experience leads to an encounter with a handsome stranger named Sam. Spurred on by her brush with death and intrigued by her chemistry with Sam, Molly decides to re-invent herself. She focuses on being a better mother, and after receiving unexpected attention from Kenny's boss, Lou, she boldly invites him over for dinner. When Lou doesn't show up, Molly shares a perfect kiss with Sam. Meanwhile, her friends' struggles continue as Joan grows weary of rehab and Cricket's husband has a secret tryst with their nanny.

Episode 2 - Diary of a Mad Ex-HousewifeWhile Molly searches for her missing diary with Zach, Rodney is nearing the end of his rope with Felix. Meanwhile, Joan deals with her own man trouble as she tries to put a spark back in her marriage with Pappy.

Episode 2 - Hour 3Molly must deal with the double blow of finding out that Lou has mysteriously gone missing, and learning that Sam is homeless. The troubles of Molly's friends come to a head as Joan is kicked out of rehab and Cricket learns of her husband's infidelity. Unhappy without each other, Molly's friends descend upon Joan's house in Malibu for a tearful reunion. However, their gathering is interrupted by the police, who implicate Sam as a suspect in Lou's disappearance.

Episode 3 - Hour 4Molly is reassured by Sam's declaration of his innocence, but she is unable to help him when he is thrown in jail. Things look desperate until Lou amazingly reappears. His plan to fake his own suicide had failed when his suicide note was lost, so he pulls Molly into his scheme. With the new suicide note Lou gives her, Molly is able to clear Sam and get him released from jail. Molly's reunion with Sam ends in a night of passion. Meanwhile, things start to look up for Cricket and Rodney, but Joan's drinking has spiraled out of control, and she wraps her car around a tree.

Episode 3 - Remains of the Snow DayWhen Molly is exposed as the infamous Hollywood Ex-wife, she becomes the most hated woman in Hollywood. She confronts Dizzy-Land, the audacious celebrity blogger who has posted all of her journal entries online, and exacerbates the situation by trying to snatch his laptop.

Episode 4 - Hour 5Molly feels liberated by her relationship with Sam, which has reached a new level. However, her other relationships are going through a period of turbulence. Her divorce settlement proceedings are not going well, and she is trying to be a strong shoulder to Cricket, who has taken her husband back, but is unable to forgive him. Molly's attempts to get Joan on the wagon have also opened a rift between them.

Episode 4 - MollywoodMolly is surprised when her nemesis, Eve, apologizes for revealing her secret identity as the Hollywood Ex-wife. Molly is suspicious and soon learns that Eve's husband Ted, a Hollywood agent, loves her writing and wants to have a meeting.

Episode 5 - Hour 6Molly's relationship with Joan blows up when Molly tells Pappy about Joan getting kicked out of rehab. Meanwhile, Molly's relationship with Lou heats up. Timid at first, Molly easily slides back into a luxury lifestyle at the side of someone important. But when Sam makes a play to win her back, Molly is torn. In the end, Molly chooses neither of the two men. Instead, she decides reclaim her life. Finding the confidence to stand up to her husband, she takes what is rightfully hers in the divorce settlement and heads off on her own to follow her dreams. A year later, surrounded by her friends at her birthday celebration, Molly realizes she is ready to start a real relationship - but with whom?

Episode 5 - Das Booty CallThings really begin heating up between Molly and Zach, but a series of mishaps continues to distract their intimacy. They finally hook-up but Molly suspects Zach is still together with a flaky blonde named Tiffany. While having doubts about Zach, Molly's ex, Lou shows back up at her door.

Episode 6 - The Ex-FilesDealing with an ex can be tough. Molly is awoken by a call from Kenny who is at the Dubai Film Festival screening his movie Blood Canal. Molly shares her good news - a movie studio is interested in Molly's script Wife Goes On. Kenny is thrilled to hear the news. But when he returns to the US, he is furious with Molly for writing a thinly-veiled script about their marriage. Kenny tells Molly that he hates how he is portrayed in the movie and will get an injunction to prevent her from ever making it.

Episode 7 - The French DisconnectionKenny calls Molly to tell her that feature film star Dana Fields wants to star in Molly's movie Wife Goes On and Molly is overjoyed. When eating with uber-agent Jolie Driver (Zach's ex-wife), Molly learns that Zach had an affair with Dana when he was married to Jolie. Suddenly, the idea of Dana starring in her movie doesn't seem like such a great one. As Molly struggles with this revelation about Zach's past, she is planning an engagement dinner for Lou and his French fiancé, Alizee. When the two women meet, Molly suspects that Alizee isn't really who she says she is. Molly is convinced that Alizee is actually Ann, a neighbor from 20 years ago.

Episode 8 - Look Who's StalkingA hung-over Molly is horrified to wake up in her bed and see Kenny asleep next to her. Molly is hurrying Kenny out of bed when her doorbell rings; Zach comes over to apologize for his behavior. Zach barges in as Kenny quickly slips out of the window. In Molly's kitchen, they see a threatening message from Molly's stalker.

Episode 9 - Her Old Man and the SeaWorried about her missing friend Joan, Molly does not know where to turn. When Molly spies Joan's former lover David Shea grocery shopping and sees Joan's favorite items in his cart, Molly's inner private eye kicks in. She follows David and discovers that Joan returned to LA and has been in a Malibu retreat with David. Joan says that she and Pappy had a fight and she left him on the cruise. Though Molly is furious with Joan, she is also relieved to find out that she is all right.

Episode 10 - Woman Over the InfluenceMolly finds her life in transformation as The Starter Wife season finale kicks off. Although Molly's movie Wife Goes On is green lit, she is unable to enjoy fully the moment as her life and the lives of her friends seem to be in turmoil.
