Episode 1 - Growing PainsElena awakens after the accident to find the thing she dreaded most has come true -- she died with vampire blood in her system and must transition to become a vampire or face death. Damon is furious with Stefan and takes out his rage on Matt.

Episode 4 - The FiveAt a fraternity costume party, Damon takes advantage of the wild scene to teach Elena how to choose a victim. Then, Klaus recalls an encounter with a group of vampire hunters during a flashback to 12th-century Italy.

Episode 8 - We'll Always Have Bourbon StreetSearching for answers, Damon and Stefan visit modern-day New Orleans to see if they can find anyone who remembers the events of their last visit in 1942, including one of Damon's former flames, Charlotte. Elena, Caroline and Bonnie share a girls' night.

Episode 9 - O Come, All Ye FaithfulIt's a winter wonderland in Mystic Falls, as Professor Shane reveals a piece of ancient history that leaves everyone speechless. Stefan and Caroline are at odds with Tyler over his plans for Klaus and his hybrids.

Episode 10 - After School SpecialRebekah is back with a vengeance. Bonnie is uncomfortable when her father, Rudy Hopkins, accepts the role of Interim Mayor. Caroline does her best to comfort Tyler after a violent confrontation. Professor Shane encourages Bonnie to believe in her powers.

Episode 11 - Catch Me if You CanDamon coaches Jeremy as he prepares to take on Klaus' new vampires, but Kol has beaten them to it. Elena comes up with her own rescue plan for Jeremy. The sheriff and mayor question Shane about his involvement in the Founders' Council deaths.
