Episode 2 - The Calling

Jim-Bob falls in love with a young woman who is struggling to decide whether or not to become a nun. Ben hires a mill hand with an alcohol problem.

  

Episode 3 - The Moonshiner

Jason takes responsibility for cousin Boone when he gets in trouble with the law, and Daisy comes back for a visit.

  

Episode 4 - The Obsession

Mary Ellen becomes dependent on drugs while preparing for her final exams for nursing school. Sissy wants to divorce Yancy.

Just before her thirteenth birthday, Elizabeth becomes reluctant to grow up, and she generates a poltergeist, which causes mischief. Jason has an advice-to-the-lovelorn radio show and gets into more trouble than he can handle.

Elizabeth is horrified when an old suitor of Grandma's comes calling. Yancy switches his still to produce fuel instead of moonshine.

News of the Pearl Harbor attack affects each of the Waltons--especially Mary Ellen, as her husband is a doctor stationed in Hawaii and she is about to join him there.

Elizabeth falls in love with the new Reverend. Erin helps the Baldwin sisters compile their memoirs.

  

Episode 12 - The Boosters

Ben leaves the mill and starts a business of his own. Yancy Tucker takes a correspondence course to become a barber.

Jason considers becoming a conscientious objector to military service, and Jim Bob gets a military tattoo.

The Walton family helps an old friend of John-Boy's who is convinced he has no future because has been physically disabled during World War II. Ben and Ike become "song and dance men" as their contribution on the war effort.

Olivia and John take a vacation together, but after the vacation, Olivia learns that she has tuberculosis and must go away to a sanitarium.

Jim Bob narrowly escapes death and decides to become a minister. Elizabeth works on a science project that involves collecting insects.
