Season 1 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Del 1

Swedish foreign minister Elsa Engström travels to Tasiilaq, Greenland, to attend the Arctic Council and propose a treaty prohibiting oil drilling in the Arctic. One of her advisers, Viktor, is visiting a Swedish oil exploration ship, but during his visit the ship is attacked and he is taken hostage. His pregnant wife Liv, a Swedish security police agent, travels to Greenland to rescue Viktor, while the Arctic Council debates whether the attack was meant to block Elsa’s treaty.

Episode 2 - Del 2

Prevented from joining the kidnapping investigation by the head of Greenland police, Liv investigates on her own. Elsa tries to keep the other ministers from abandoning the treaty, but they are interrupted by a hungry polar bear. Meanwhile, local police chief, Enok, finds a lead on a witness, but he is unwilling to share this information just yet.

Episode 3 - Del 3

The town of Tasiilaq is cut off from the outside world when its communication tower is sabotaged. Meanwhile, the local police find that the only potential witness has been murdered and Enok is suspected. Liv discovers a connection between the kidnappers and the Russian government, who is actively fighting the treaty. Elsa tries to convince Greenland’s government to support her treaty, when a gigantic oil well in Greenlandic waters is made public.

Episode 4 - Del 4

Liv and Enok travel to Scoresbysund to follow a lead in the case of the kidnapped crew. They discover grim evidence, and the strain puts Liv’s pregnancy at risk. In Tasiilaq, the internet connection is restored, but Elsa and her treaty are under attack. Russia is running a smear campaign against her, and she’s losing support from the other ministers. Evidence starts mounting up against Russia, suggesting they’re responsible for the attacks.

Episode 5 - Del 5

The cyber attacks and smear campaign against Elsa escalate, questioning the legitimacy of the adoption of her children. Meanwhile, the bodies in the mass grave in Scoresbysund are identified. The strain is too much on Liv, and she is hospitalized. Ship owner Ville Berger arrives and invites the families of the missing crew. Elsa, seeing the families’ grief, makes a fateful decision.

Episode 6 - Del 6

Elsa receives a ransom note, threatening to execute Viktor if she doesn’t retract the treaty. But she makes the threat public, risking Viktor’s life. An outraged council votes Russia out, and Elsa receives the support she needs. Meanwhile, Liv and Enok discover evidence that may exonerate Russia. But before they can investigate further, Enok is suspended and Liv is ordered to return home. Instead of complying, they follow a new lead.

Episode 7 - Del 7

Ville Berger acquires oil drilling rights, and suspicions point to the Swedes. Enok’s wife witnesses a murder and is abducted, while Liv and Enok make a major discovery.

Episode 8 - Del 8

With the hostages recovered and Berger held responsible, the treaty moves forward, until the US puts pressure on Sweden. Then Liv and Enok make a shocking revelation.
