The Tundra is a brutal and punishing terrain, and technically a desert, with all moisture trapped in ice and snow. Winter lasts eight months of the year, and the average temperature of the tundra is minus 18 degrees Fahrenheit - cold enough to stop the human heart. But, it is anything but lifeless. |
