Season 1 Episode Guide
Episode 1 - My Fuzzy Valentine / Love, Bug"My Fuzzy Valentine" Bug wants to sign a valentine for his favorite WordFriend, but he doesn't know how to write his name. With lots of encouragement from Frog, he learns that with a little practice he can write his name and give his valentine. "Love, Bug" When Sheep decides she wants to make a special Valentine song for her pal Bear, she has trouble finding just the right rhyme to finish her song. With the help of Fly, she discovers the perfect rhyme and makes Bear a Valentine song with real heart.

Episode 1 - A String's the Thing / J-J-Jelly"A String's the Thing" After Duck accidentally turns on Frog's new cake frosting machine, the WordFriends must find the right "ing" word to stop it from covering WordWorld in delicious frosting. "J-J-Jelly" Pig asks Bear and Sheep to help him make jars for the jelly pumping from his jelly machine. However, when they aren't able to make jars fast enough, the kitchen quickly begins filling up with the purple, oozy treat! Only by working together are the friends able to find a way to contain all of the jiggling jelly.

Episode 1 - Shark's First Day of School / Shark's First Loose Tooth"Shark's First Day of School" It's the first day of school for the youngest WordFriends, but Shark is afraid to go. With the help of his good buddy Duck, and some gentle encouragement from their teacher Cat, Shark's fear turns to confidence, and by day's end he's at the head of the class. "Shark's First Loose Tooth" When Shark loses his first baby tooth at a sleepover party with Duck, he's got to get to sleep fast so the tooth fairy can come and leave him a present. But there's just one problem-he can't fall asleep! With the help of his good friend Duck and the letter P, Shark finally finds just the word he needs to help him fall asleep.

Episode 1 - Pies, Pies, Pies! / Waterlogged"Pies, Pies, Pies!" When Pig promises to make a pie for everyone in Word World, he learns a hard lesson about keeping promises. Fortunately, he also learns about the letter S and how it can make words plural."Waterlogged" Frog must stay with Pig when his Log sinks, but Frog soon wears out his welcome by being a bad houseguest. After some silly mishaps, Pig and Frog finally come to an understanding - about how important it is to see things from a friend's perspective.

Episode 1 - Runaway O / Happy Birthday, Dog!"Runaway O" When Sheep and Bear open Cat's box of Os, one rolls away, sending them on a madcap chase to catch it before Cat wakes up. "Happy Birthday, Dog!" It's Dog's birthday and all his friends are planning a surprise party. There's just one problem - they need a cake! Frog must get to the party safely without Dog finding out.

Episode 1 - Bit By Bit / Ride 'em CowBear"Bit by Bit" It is Monkey's birthday, and a sick Frog entrusts Duck and Bug to take his present-a banana-to Monkey's birthday party for him. In their enthusiasm to get to the party, Duck and Bug accidentally break the banana into letters…and they don't know how to rebuild it! It's just too big a word. Fortunately Elephant knows a thing or two about big words, and teaches them to build the banana back, bit by bit, based on the three syllables in the word. "Ride 'em CowBear" Pig, Dog and Duck are playing cowboys. Bear wants to join them, but gets frustrated when she learns she's not very good at rope tricks. Dog went let her sulk, though, and after much practice Bear is a rootin'-tootin' CowBear! And just in time-Pig and Duck have herded Cow into the mud!

Episode 2 - Snug as a Bug/Nightlight"Snug as a Bug" Frog helps insomniac Bug figure out the end of the rhyme "snug as a bug in a ..." so that Bug can sleep."Nightlight" The rest of Word World is trying to sleep, but Bear is keeping everyone awake with her all-night racket. When her friends try to get her to go to sleep, they soon realize that Bear is afraid of the dark.

Episode 2 - Duck Saves Spider's Web / Caterpillar Gets a Home"Duck Saves Spider's Web" When Duck accidentally crashes into Spider's web and breaks it apart into letters, he has to go about finding the letters to fix it. But he doesn't know what letters are in the word 'web'! With Elephant's help, he learns that sometimes if you can sound out a word, you can figure out what letters you need to build it. "Caterpillar Gets a Home" Duck makes a new friend on a windy, rainy day: Caterpillar. It soon becomes apparent that Caterpillar needs a home to protect her from the elements. Together she and Duck learn to sound out some words which might make suitable homes, such as BAG, CAN and BOX. But which one will be just right?

Episode 2 - Hide and Seek/Kite FlightThe WordFriends play a game of Hide and Seek where they must hide behind WordThings that end in ake! Then, when Frog sails away on a big kite he built, it's up to Duck and Shark to save him.

Episode 2 - Duck At Bat / You Can Never Have Too Many OO's"Duck at Bat" Duck loses the letter B to his baseball bat just before the big game is supposed to start. He tries to build other words to hit the ball--MAT, HAT--but soon learns that you need the right letter with the right sound to build the right word...and hit a homer! "You Can Never Have Too Many OO's" When the two letter O's in Monkey's roof blow away in the wind, it's up to Duck to hunt down the "oo" sound and fix the roof before it rains. With Kangaroo's help, Duck saves the day...and learns you can never have too many "oo's."

Episode 2 - There's an Ant in Every Giant / Chef Sheep"There's an Ant in Every Giant" When Ant grows tired of being the smallest WordFriend in Word World, he adds a G-I to his tiny frame and changes from ANT to GIANT. However, he soon realizes that he can be Word World's biggest hero when he's just tiny Ant."Chef Sheep" When Pig gets a bowl stuck on his face, Sheep must take over his cooking show. Sheep learns to have confidence in herself and saves the day!.

Episode 2 - Play Ball / M Is for Map"Play Ball!" The WordFriends play an exciting game of baseball, but Robot has never played before. With some practice, and a lot of encouragement from his WordFriends, Robot learns the game and turns into a slugging machine! "M is for Map" After a fun day of adventuring through the jungle, Sheep and Bear discover they are lost - and it's almost dark! In their haste to get home before sunset, the WordFriends lose the letters to their map. They have to sound out and hunt down the letters in "map" - but with Adventure Sheep leading the way, nothing is ever easy!

Episode 3 - Duck's First Sleepover Party/One Hat Fits All"Duck's First Sleepover Party" Duck attends his first sleep-over party but he's nervous about not sleeping in his nest for the first time. After a long night of fun games his friends calm his anxiety by building him a soft, fluffy nest. "One Hat Fits All" Sheep, while practicing her magic act, loses her magicians top hat (it's quite blustery in Word World today). The hat wends all around Word World, visiting Pig, Bear and Duck, breaking into its letters each time it crashes to a halt! And whenever our heroes put it back together, the hat takes on a fresh, new form. For Pig it becomes a chef's hat; for Bear, an artist's beret; and for Duck, a silly propeller beanie! Clearly, this hat is special! Could it even be … magical?

Episode 3 - The Best Nest / Duck's Family Reunion"The Best Nest" It's Duck's turn at show and tell at school, and he wants to bring the thing he loves the best: his nest! But when the nest breaks apart into letters, will Duck be able to retrieve them all in time? "Duck's Family Reunion" Because they have a similar sounding name, Duck mistakes Truck for a long-lost relative! Frog is a bit ruffled at the epidemic of silliness going around, but ends up saving the day for Duck and his word 'family'.

Episode 3 - Bugs to the Rescue / Sheep's First Bike Ride"Bugs to the Rescue" Ant builds Bear a hot-air balloon for her birthday, but Dog accidentally floats away in it! Ant elicits the help of his insect WordFriends Bug, Bee and Fly to rescue Dog and save the day. "Sheep's First Bike Ride" Bear and Sheep both learn to build the word "bike," and Sheep learns how to ride one for the first time in her life. In both cases, it just takes some perseverance.

Episode 3 - The Lost Letter L / Catch That C!"The Lost Letter L" When Duck accidentally breaks the L off Frog's lamp, he decides not to tell Frog. Instead, he'll just fix it himself. Although Bug and Dog try to help, things spiral out of control, and soon Duck has broken a lamp, a lever and even Frog's log! Duck learns that everyone makes mistakes and admitting them sooner rather than later can make a big difference. "Catch that C!" While Pig and Ant are making cookies, their bag of letter C's gets away from them, sending the WordFriends on a wild goose chase all over WordWorld to catch that C! The bad news is that the letter C is in big demand that day. But the good news is that Pig and Ant have a lot of WordFriends who want to help them out!

Episode 3 - The Really Red Ruby / Firefighters to the Rescue"The Really Red Ruby" Frog is excited to accompany Sheep on an exciting adventure to find the Really Red Ruby - until he realizes that Sheep is only pretending to go on an adventure. Frog is disappointed until he makes his greatest discovery: playing pretend is fun! "Firefighters to the Rescue" Duck and Fly want to become firefighters, just like their friend Firefighter Frog. To do that, they need to look out for any signs of smoke in WordWorld, because where there's smoke, there's fire! Will Duck and Fly be able to determine what's really smoke and what's not?

Episode 3 - Rocket to the Moon / The Birds"Rocket to the Moon" When Frog needs to rescue the Little Piggies from the moon, he learns to appreciate lowercase letters."The Birds" Sheep discovers a large egg and has to take care of it until she can find Bird and return it to its rightful owner.

Episode 4 - The Mystery of the Disappearing Pie / Duck's Family Reunion"The Mystery of the Disappearing Pie" When Pig's pie for Bear goes missing, it's up to Detective Sheep to follow the letter clues and solve the mystery of the disappearing pie!"Duck's Family Reunion" Because they have a similar sounding name, Duck mistakes Truck for a long-lost relative! Frog is a bit ruffled at the epidemic of silliness going around, but ends up saving the day for Duck and his word 'family'.

Episode 4 - The Christmas Star / A Christmas Present for Dog"The Christmas Star" It's the night before Christmas and Frog needs a star to hang on his Christmas tree. Duck thinks this will be the perfect present for Frog, and tries to lasso one out of the sky for him. Try as he might, Duck is unable to catch a star for Frog, and cries himself to sleep. But while he sleeps, someone leaves him a wonderful present: the letters S-T-A-R… "A Christmas Present for Dog" It's Christmas morning, and all the WordFriends are excited by the presents Santa has brought for them! Pig has a sled, Bear has a doll and Ant has a cookie. But not all the letters for Dog's present came down his chimney. All he has is a B-A-L. Bear gets filled with the Christmas spirit and makes a sacrifice to ensure Dog's Christmas will be merry!

Episode 4 - Bed Bugs / Snug As a Bug"Bed Bugs" When the bugs accidentally break Frog's brand new bed, they scramble to put it back together and make things right. Just one problem. They can't tell the letters 'b' and 'd' apart! Can they figure out which letter is which - and rebuild Frog's bed - before Frog returns home? "Snug as a Bug" Frog helps insomniac Bug figure out the end of the rhyme "snug as a bug in a ..." so that Bug can sleep.

Episode 4 - Duck's Hiccups / A_a_choo!"Duck's Hiccups" When Duck drinks down a glass of water too quickly, he gets the hiccups for the first time ever! His WordFriends try every trick in the book to help him, but which cure will work? "A_a_choo!" Pig is allergic to peaches! Too bad Sheep doesn't know that! When she brings Pig a big bag of peaches to make pies, Pig starts sneezing so much that he can't even tell Sheep what he really needs is a...a...apples. Sheep tries to guess what Pig needs, imagining a silly array of a-sounding words!

Episode 4 - Think in the Rink / X Marks the Spot"Think in the Rink" Duck and Dog want to join Sheep and Frog in their ice skating show. Although Frog warns Duck and Dog to be careful as they practice, the enthusiastic duo gets carried away and carelessly break the ice skating rink. Will Duck and Dog think up a good solution to the problem before the show begins? "X Marks the Spot" Duck must search high and low for his letter X that has gone missing. His good pal Shark accompanies him. Duck hears the letter X everywhere he goes, but why can't he find it? And why does Shark have a stomachache? Both mysteries are solved when Frog builds an X-ray to look inside Shark's stomach.

Episode 4 - Radio Read-a-thon/Robots to the Rescue!Duck asks Frog to read his favorite book on Ant's radio station because he can't read it himself. Then, Frog discovers that you can make a word more than one by adding the letter S to the end of it, and he becomes a mad scientist of sorts!

Episode 5 - Get Well Soon Soup / Mmm-mmm-milk!"Get Well Soon Soup" When Ant gets sick, Pig tries to take care of him by making his special Get-Well-Soon Soup. It has all the letters in the alphabet in it, so Pig can build any word that Ant needs to feel better. Pig just has to figure out what that word is! "Mmm-mmm-milk!" When Ant comes over to Pig's house to eat cookies, Pig tries to get him to drink some milk. But Ant doesn't like milk! Or so he thinks...

Episode 5 - Race to the Spaceship / Sandbox Surprise"Race to the Spaceship" Frog must help Robot get to the top of WordWorld's highest mountain and build a spaceship in time to play spaceship tag. By adding one word to another, the WordFriends learn how to make a car, boat and bike go faster. "Sandbox Surprise" Duck and Dog become curious about compound words when they discover the word "sandbox" is made of two words. How many words can they pull apart in WordWorld before chaos breaks loose?

Episode 5 - A Kooky Spooky Halloween / Sheep's Halloween Costume"A Kooky Spooky Halloween" The WordFriends get their share of scares the night before Halloween, when Pig sleepwalks and everyone thinks he's a ghost! "Sheep's Halloween Costume" It's Halloween - Sheep's favorite day of the year. Sheep likes nothing more than to dress up, so she always goes out of her way to make herself a special costume. But what will she do when her WordFriends need pieces of her costume for their own costumes?

Episode 5 - Dog's Having a Party / Dog Wants to Play Ball"Dog's Having a Party" Dog and Duck want to throw a house party at Dog's house. But all they have is the letter H, and they don't know what to do with it! With the help of Sheep they soon realize that H is a fabulous letter; with it they can make hotdogs, hats, hula-hoops and a great party indeed. Hurray! "Dog Wants to Play Ball" Dog wants to play ball, but he's having trouble communicating with his friends because they won't stop and listen to him.

Episode 5 - Sh-Sh-Shark! / Dog Wants to Play Ball"Sh-Sh-Shark!" Shark is misunderstood. Everyone is afraid of him and won't even give him a chance to prove he's friendly. Everyone but Duck, that is, who doesn't know that the letters s and h together make the 'sh' sound, and therefore doesn't know who Shark is. When Duck introduces his new friend "S-hark" to the gang, Duck learns a lesson about the /sh/ sound, while everyone else discovers that acceptance is an important part of friendship."Dog Wants to Play Ball" Dog wants to play ball, but he's having trouble communicating with his friends because they won't stop and listen to him.

Episode 5 - Superhero Sheep / Pirate Ship"Superhero Sheep" Sheep becomes Word World's first superhero, saving the day with the letter "S"! Duck is eager to be her trusty sidekick, but Sheep repeatedly points out that "superheroes don't need help." But Sheep learns that everyone needs help sometimes when she gets stuck on top of Pig's barn and it's up to Duck to save her."Pirate Ship" "While playing on the beach, Sheep, Duck and Shark find a message in a bottle. It's one of several rhyming clues that will lead them to a special treasure! Like hearty pirates, the trio follows the clues and rhyme their way across the sea-if only they had a ship!
