Season 2 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Love Never Dies

Melinda is greatly concerned when it seems that Andrea is being influenced by "Wide Brim." She goes to Professor Rick Payne, an expert in occult beliefs and history, to see if he can identify "Wide Brim" in order to win the battle for her friend's fate. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Melinda, a young man who seems to be obsessed with her makes plans to fly from Seattle to see her.

  

Episode 2 - Love Still Won't Die

Melinda is haunted by the spirit of a young man who wants her to visit his wife, Donna (Chabert), to make amends. When she does so, Melinda discovers that Donna is his former wife who divorced him because he was obsessed with his ex-girlfriend. Meanwhile, Melinda meets Delia Banks (Manheim), the mother of a boy who is determined to steal some valuable memorabilia from her store, and Melinda is surprised to find out what is really motivating him.

  

Episode 3 - Drowned Lives

Melinda and Jim befriend a new couple whose home is haunted by a 6-year-old girl who drowned in their swimming pool. While Melinda uncovers why the child's spirit wreaks havoc in the house, she also meets the girl's brother who blames himself for his sister's death. Meanwhile, Delia, who sold the couple the house, would like to stop them from moving out.

  

Episode 4 - The Ghost Within

Melinda senses something strange about the ornaments that she and Delia come across at a flea market and is puzzled by the ghost that comes along with them who refuses to acknowledge her. When Melinda picks up any of the objects, she sees wild images that appear to be in the ghost's mind, which may be his only way of communicating with her. She decides to visit Professor Payne to see if he can explain the phenomenon.

  

Episode 5 - Giving Up The Ghost

Melinda encounters an angry ghost, Matt. He's a former pro-baseball player who died in a car accident and nowvtries to take over the body of a Justin Cotter, a young pitcher, during a high school ballgame. Justin is scared and confused and not aware of the battle taking place inside him. Melinda must show Justin what is happening to him and help the boy to turn his back on the powerful spirit.

  

Episode 6 - A Grave Matter

Melinda encounters a ghost who can't identify himself to Melinda, but who claims that the widow weeping at the graveside every day is not his wife. Slowly, the ghost is able to remember things about his life and confesses to Melinda that he abandoned his wife and young daughter, which mirrors Melinda's own background. As Melinda tries to put aside her personal feelings, she attempts to unravel the mystery of who is buried in the grave.

     

Episode 7 - The Woman of His Dreams

Jim senses that something strange is going on when beetles appear in their home during a card game with the guys. He then dreams about a beautiful woman holding an exotic cat and remembers that Melinda saw a cat ghost a few days earlier. Melinda calls and suggests that Jim visit Professor Rick Payne, an expert in the occult, who helps Jim identify the woman as Eva. When Melinda returns home, she and Jim must help Eva's younger sister who appears to be following in Eva's dangerous footsteps.

  

Episode 8 - A Vicious Cycle

A ghost, Anna Fowler, asks Melinda to help find her daughter, Lane, claiming that Lane needs Anna's help. When Melinda finds her, Lane refuses to see her mother. After Anna attacks Lane's fiancé, Tim, Melinda learns a secret that applies equally to both mother and daughter. In order for Anna to cross over, Melinda must help both mother and daughter acknowledge their shared past.

  

Episode 9 - The Night we Met

When a restaurant burns down for the second time, Melinda tries to help an angry ghost who was accused of starting the original restaurant fire that killed him. He tells her that he was not to blame and Melinda tries to help him clear his name; Melinda remembers the night that she and Jim met when a fire erupted in the building next door to where she lived.

  

Episode 10 - The Curse of the Ninth

Melinda is called to help Brandon, who’s being terrorized by his father’s ghost. She discovers that Brandon’s father has a ghost of his own, Jared, Brandon’s now-deceased bandmate. Jared was jealous of Brandon’s talent, and Melinda must find a way to quiet his fury so that Brandon can return to music.

  

Episode 11 - Cat's Claw

Melinda's eerie encounters with a ghost continue to alter her surroundings to an unknown jungle filled with exotic plants and tribal manikins. Unfortunately, the ghost is plagued by a horrible condition that limits his speech and makes it difficult for Melinda to determine his needs. After a visit to Professor Payne links him to the ghost, he heatedly questions Melinda's motives for her intuitive inquiries.

  

Episode 12 - Dead to Rights

While making volunteer hospital rounds with Delia and her therapy dog, Melinda encounters a desperate spirit trapped between life and death. Melinda realizes the spirit belongs to the body of a young man on life-support, who begs her to intervene. Unable to live and prevented from dying, the spirit is trapped by his own body, bitterly watching his parents and wife argue his fate. In addition, a bizarre haunting brings her closer to Professor Payne while Delia struggles to teach Ned, and ultimately herself, how to find closure.

  

Episode 13 - Deja Boo

With her friend's pregnancy in danger, Melinda must act quickly to prevent a spirit from harming the unborn child. Professor Payne tries to help Melinda deal with the spirit with multiple personalities who is terrified of being reborn and desperate to avoid reliving a terrible past.

  

Episode 14 - Speed Demon

When Melinda's Jeep mysteriously breaks down on a remote road, she finds herself face to face with angry spirit who tells her "Someone's gonna die". Haunted by an angry spirit with a frightening prophecy of death, Melinda tries to figure out the meaning of a mysterious code that is linked to a secret drag racing society. When she discovers that Delia's son, Ned may be involved with the group, she follows him to their hidden location and uncovers the truth about a race of revenge.

  

Episode 15 - Mean Ghost

Following her career-week speech at Grandview High School, Melinda observes the spirit of a cheerleader maliciously attacking her former squad members. With the cheerleading semi-finals just days away, Melinda scrambles to determine why the spirit of a cheerleader is destroying her former squad. When Melinda notices a connection between the angry teen ghost, the new head cheerleader and a withdrawn "Goth" student, she reaches out to the team's coach for more information.

  

Episode 16 - The Cradle Will Rock

Still shaken from witnessing a jewelry store robbery, Melinda's life is threatened when a desperate spirit leads her to a dangerous criminal. When a jewelry store is robbed, Melinda and Delia are among the victims. Soon after the incident, Melinda is contacted by a ghost who needs her help to contact his grieving wife. When Melinda arrives at his home to deliver the message, she discovers that the desperate criminal who robbed the bank is there, but only after he locks her in the basement. Trapped and fearing for her life, Melinda suddenly realizes that the ghost was also involved in the crime and is the only one who knows where the stolen money is hidden.

  

Episode 17 - The Walk-In

After Jim tells Melinda that a corpse disappeared from the local morgue, they search for the body and an explanation. After a visit from the corpse's spirit, Melinda meets with Payne and deduces that the missing corpse has been possessed by another earth bound spirit. Melinda searches for an explanation behind the body snatching and for the identities of the two spirits.

  

Episode 18 - Delia's First Ghost

After witnessing the spirit of Delia's husband sabotaging Delia's date, Melinda puts their friendship to the test and reveals her unique ability.

  

Episode 19 - Children Of Ghosts

Melinda and Jim's family grows when they foster a teen with a dangerous spirit attached, and Homer the Ghost Dog returns, forcing Melinda to seek help from the Dog Whisperer.

  

Episode 20 - The Collector

Melinda is intrigued when she meets Gabriel, another Ghost Whisperer with the same abilities, but her fascination turns to fear when she discovers his connection to Professor Payne's wife.

  

Episode 21 - The Prophet

Melinda fears for the safety of her loved ones when a prophet ghost shows her visions of a deadly future, and a fellow Ghost Whisperer, who Melinda doesn't trust continues to lurk around Grandview.

  

Episode 22 - The Gathering

Fearing that the dark side is becoming more powerful than the light, Melinda searches for the meaning behind mythological clues before another tragedy strikes Grandview.
