Episode 1 - August

Half a year has passed since Free Norway mobilized and Norway was on the brink of war. In order to maintain peace, the Norwegian government, led by Anders Knudsen, has made a number of compromises with the Russians. The Norwegian Police Security Service, now led by Hans Martin, has aggressively pursued Free Norway. There has been an intense but fruitless manhunt for Wenche Arnesen, and the country is still plagued by terror and unrest. From self-imposed exile in Sweden, Jesper continues his secret resistance struggle and initiates an attack on Melkøya, a gas installation controlled by the Russians. The operation is led by Coast Guardsmen, and the Russians interpret it as a military attack. The situation escalates and results in a cabinet crisis. Jesper's plan is to form a government-in-exile in Sweden and get the outside world to define the situation in Norway as an occupation, but Anita Rygg comes up with an unexpected counterproposal and ends up herself as prime minister, thus thwarting Jesper's plans. The Melkøya operation also leads the government to demand that the Security Service arrests a number of Free-Norway leaders. HM believes they will be able to lead them to the real brains behind the resistance, Wenche Arnesen. HM intensifies the hunt for Wenche, eventually finding out that she is dead. She is no longer the leader of Free Norway. HM realizes someone else must be continuing the struggle in her place.

Episode 2 - September

Russia has arrested the Coast Guardsmen behind the Melkøya operation, but in order to mollify the Norwegian military, Anita Rygg has promised that the soldiers will be handed over to Norway. When HM finds out that one of the soldiers is dead, things become more complicated. The Coast Guard blockades the Oslo Fjord. The Norwegian military clearly has no confidence in Anita Rygg. Jesper uses a computer game to communicate with the resistance. Through this, HM manages to find out that Jesper is the de facto leader of Free Norway and most likely was behind the Melkøya operation. Bente Norum has sold her restaurant and used the money to start a hotel with a Russian investor, Zoya. But Free Norway still has Bente in its clutches. Anette Kleven, pretending to be a wine importer, calls on Bente and asks her to spy on an oligarch named Minnikov, who is staying at the hotel. She claims that Minnikov ordered the hit on Thomas, but Bente doesn't trust her and dismisses her. Anita realizes she has to try something unorthodox to get the Russians to change course. Based on a proposal by Hilde Djupvik, she suggests including a Russian lay judge in all court cases involving Russian citizens. As a result, she finally manages to get Russia to extradite the soldiers. And instead of punishing the Coast Guard Inspector, she appoints him as defense minister in order to get him and the military on her side.

Episode 3 - October

The trial against the Coast Guardsmen is the first one with a Russian lay judge. The soldiers receive the harshest sentence possible, whereupon the girlfriend of one of the soldiers, Frida, along with her friend Leon, start a movement called FOS (Free Our Soldiers). Meanwhile, the terrorist attacks continue. Anita decides to negotiate an amnesty for Free Norway in order to assuage the resistance. Harald Vold is willing to agree to an amnesty, but demands to speak to his followers on live TV. Anita and the Justice Department agree in spite of HM's warnings. Stefan watches Vold's speech, feels betrayed, and decides to continue the struggle on his own. He and his girlfriend, Cecilie, kidnap HM and Hilde's daughter. As time is about to run out and Stefan realizes the police are on his tail, he finds himself unable to follow through with his threat to kill the young girl. She is found unharmed and Cecilie is arrested, but Stefan gets away. Later that night the Russians locate him, and they call HM. HM comes to pick him up. He wants to know if more people were involved in the kidnapping, but Stefan provokes him and, blinded by hatred, HM ends up shooting him. Bente finds out that Minnikov has bought Zoya's share of the hotel and is planning to give it to his daughter, Nadja. In order to find out what is really going on, Bente decides to wiretap Minnikov via the phone she got from Free Norway.

Episode 4 - November

Jesper Berg has fled to Poland where he gives a secret interview to a journalist from Der Spiegel. In the interview he claims that with their new trade agreement, Norway, led by Anita Rygg, is about to give Minnikov's oil company total power over the Norwegian shelf. Anita asks Sidorova to stop Minnikov, but Sidorova claims she can only get Russia to listen if she can give them Jesper Berg. The Russians have tracked him down in Poland and want the Norwegian authorities to arrest him. The group hiding Jesper is ready to sell him to the Norwegian authorities, but when they realize the Russians are behind the agreement, they change their mind. They bring Jesper out in the forest and stage his death. The video of Jesper being shot makes its way to Norwegian Intelligence and the apparent murder is a huge blow to Anita Rygg. In reality, Jesper Berg has made his way to Brussels. HM is obsessed with finding out if anyone else was involved in his daughter's kidnapping. He eventually learns that more people are involved and that they most likely are from within the system. At the hotel, Minnikov discovers that Bente has tapped his phone. He threatens both Bente and Maja, and Bente, in a burst of emotion, pushes Minnikov out a window to his death.

Episode 5 - December

Jesper Berg has managed to make it to Paris where he shows up at Astrid's apartment unexpected. Astrid's new boyfriend, Jerome, is also there. It doesn't take long before the police find Jesper and arrest him. Anita wants him extradited as quickly as possible, but Jerome helps Jesper find a loophole in the law. Jesper seeks political asylum and France feels pressured to let him stay. Bente finds out that the Russians are blaming Zoya for Minnikov's death, and when Zoya is arrested Bente turns herself in to the Norwegian police. There she discovers that Free Norway has infiltrated parts of the police. They ask her to go back and continue spying. Meanwhile Frida's movement continues to spread, and Leon manages to hack the prime minister's e-mail server. HM tries to set a trap to reveal who in the system is working for Free Norway, but his plan backfires and on his way home his car is forced off the road.

Episode 6 - January

Several of the Nordic countries are unhappy with Russia's presence in Norway. They don't feel safe. Anita wishes for a better climate between the countries and wants to turn distrust to cooperation. She wants to create a new alliance led by Russia and Norway, but Russia continually violates Finnish airspace, making it impossible for those two countries to reconcile. Jesper Berg is still in Paris. He wants to use the growing discontent in the Nordic countries and Eastern Europe to propose a resolution demanding that Russia withdraws from Norway. In order to succeed, he must get France to support the resolution. This is impossible with the existing EU commissioner. But Jesper finds something he can use against Pierre, and manages to force him out of the EU. HM only suffered minor injuries, but remembers nothing from the accident. He is convinced he was forced off the road, but there is no evidence to validate his suspicion. He asks Hilde to investigate at the Justice Department, whereupon Hilde discovers that HM was the one who killed Stefan. HM returns to the scene of the accident and starts remembering what happened. He realizes his own driver was behind it. When HM and Buan go to arrest him, they discover that Veland is communicating through the same computer game as Jesper Berg.

Episode 7 - February, Pt. 1

It appears as if a majority of the EU will vote for the resolution to have Russia withdraw from Norway, but in order for the EU to vote in favor, Norway's government must also support it. Jesper Berg does not trust Anita and decides to head back to Norway by ship. In order to avoid being arrested or attacked, he has a number of East European parliamentarians on board who support his cause. Russia demands that Norway opposes the resolution. Anita realizes that if she decides to support it, war will break out. Anita begs the EU to exhaust all other options first, but the EU is not interested. Anita Rygg then decides to cut Norway's oil supply to the EU, thus pressuring the EU to reject the resolution. Jesper Berg realizes he is about to be defeated, but he has a plan B. With the aid of some hackers, he has started breaking into Russian military systems in Norway, and with Leon's help they manage to hack a surface-to-air missile and shoot down a Finnish jet fighter. Free Norway wants Bente to change the date of a reception at the hotel. A reception they know Sidorova will be attending. Bente decides to go to HM with this information, and HM realizes that Free Norway is planning an assassination attempt at the hotel. They tail Anette Kleven and see her meet with former defense chief Istad. This is the confirmation they needed that Free Norway is in the process of infiltrating a significant portion of the military and police.

Episode 8 - February, Pt. 2

The EU considers the downing of the Finnish jet as an attack on the EU, and votes for the resolution to have Russia leave Norway. But they also want Anita to step down. Anita refuses to accede to the EU's demands and seeks support from the Norwegian Parliament. But Parliament also supports Jesper. Anita now realizes that they intend to force the Russians out at any cost, and that a war will most likely break out on Norwegian soil. Desperate to avoid this, Anita enters into an agreement with Sidorova agreeing to a military alliance with Russia if the Russians voluntarily withdraw. Sidorova also demands that Anita remain as prime minister. Jesper is on his way to Norway by ship, and the plan is for the military to stand by his side when he arrives. But Vold, realizing Anita is about to enter into an agreement that the EU will accept, stages a military coup before Jesper arrives. Leon realizes his hacking directly led to the Finnish jet being shot down. He tells Frida and shows her a recording of Jesper Berg asking him to do it. Free Norway tracks down Leon and kills him, and in desperation Frida goes to Anita with the recording. HM realizes a military coup is under way and manages to get Anita to safety, but Anita wants him to bring her to Jesper. She confronts Jesper with the recording that proves he was behind the downing of the jet. Anita promises to keep this information secret if Jesper will get the military to support her government. Jesper has no choice and agrees to her demands. Together they announce that the Russians are leaving Norway.
