Season 1 Episode Guide
Episode 1 - A House, A Bird, A Cloud and a ManIt's Nyela Malik's first day at the Athena College of Visual Arts and she's not sure what her future there will hold... not least because Nyela isn't quite like her fellow foundation course students.

Episode 2 - The Art of Fitting InAt the Athena, Nyela sees all the cliques and groups that have already formed. She feels like she doesn't fit into any of them - can she find her own gang of friends?

Episode 3 - Dads, Mums and Broken ThingsNyela's conflicted: although she's embarked upon a new path away from modelling, she feels she could maybe undo some of the upset her dramatic exit from the business caused.

Episode 4 - Not That GirlLeigh is horrified when she unwittingly agrees to go on a date with Lenny and is so preoccupied that she misses Nyela's distress at having failed her art history essay.

Episode 5 - Pitching and StitchingAs Nyela walks into the Athena, she's plagued by Jamie and Naomi who have become bolder in their bullying. Leigh is supportive and Nyela tries not to let it get to her.

Episode 6 - Fear and Loving at the AthenaIt's Halloween and Nyela has been making her costume for ages. She loves Halloween, but this year she feels crushed by Jamie and Naomi's bullying and just wants to disappear.

Episode 7 - Pictures of YouNyela is gutted from witnessing Sam and Satori's kiss. She tries to take her mind off it and her friends are supportive, but it's not helped by the fact that Satori has started at the Athena.

Episode 8 - Three Words of DeathNyela has an amazing opportunity to design something for Lexy for a photo shoot for a high profile fashion magazine. Her plans are interrupted by Neisha, who has decided she's moving into their flat.

Episode 9 - The UnderdogAt the Athena, Satori's arrival has altered the dynamic in Nyela's tribe - even Leigh is buddies with her - and so Nyela decides she needs to end the awkwardness between her and Satori by befriending her.

Episode 10 - Truth and InexperienceStruggling with her feelings and hating keeping secrets from Lenny, Leigh tells Satori she has to tell Lenny what happened between them.

Episode 11 - Left BehindNyela's fine when Leigh cancels meeting up one night - until she sees that Satori has posted an image of her and Leigh hanging out. Oblivious, Leigh doesn't understand why Nyela is behaving strangely the next day.
|
Episode 12 - EverygirlTension is mounting among the foundation students at the Athena: it's the run-up to the Mid Year Show. Not everyone will have a piece of work picked, so each student needs to produce something that is uniquely them.

Episode 13 - The ListTrying to reunite Neisha with her parents, Nyela invites them to the Mid Year Show. At the showcase, Leigh introduces Lenny to her mum, Melissa, with whom she has a difficult relationship.
|
Episode 14 - Friends With a GuyNyela is trying to be optimistic about her future - she may be out of the Athena but she's sent CVs to almost every fashion designer in London. And her persistence pays off.

Episode 15 - The Problem With FateNyela's heading home to her family. Miju and Lexy say goodbye. Meanwhile, Lenny is unhappy at the Athena: he's too heartbroken to be around Leigh, and Sam's still cool with him.

Episode 16 - Play DoughNyela is determined to get back into the Athena and starts her campaign by leaving a dress for Allie - the dress she should have made for Leigh in her first assignment.

Episode 17 - Exit, Pursued by a BearNyela's back at the Athena but things between her and her old gang are a little strained, with the exception of Lenny.
|
Episode 18 - The Other Kind of LikeLenny has been so great to Nyela recently that when the class gets an assignment to design and make a jacket, she decides doing one for him would be a great way of saying thank you.

Episode 19 - In Case of RejectionNyela realises she can't prevaricate about her feelings for Sam any longer - she has to act. With good luck wishes from Lexy and Miju, she heads to the Athena, resolved to tell him how she feels.

Episode 20 - A Moveable FeastNyela's worried that telling Sam how she feels has undermined her friendship with him - it's created an awkwardness that she's worried will never go... and she has to find a way of ending it.

Episode 21 - Pick Your PeopleNyela's looking forward to a visit from her dad, Ralf, and her sister, Lena, and is making Lena a dress - just as she used to make her clothes before she came to the Athena.

Episode 22 - Please Don'tSam gets a phone call which unsettles him. When an excited Lenny tells him about an interview he's set up with a well-known vlogger who's interested in their band, Sam's keen - until he finds out when it's taking place.

Episode 23 - In Defence of TiarasIt's the day of Sam's mum's lumpectomy. Nyela is with him and his sister Nancy at the hospital. Allie has set an assignment - to design their outfits for the foundation course summer ball.

Episode 24 - A Sort of FairytaleExcitement is building ahead of the foundation students' summer ball but, for Nyela, it's tinged with sadness now she knows Sam will be leaving the Athena.

Episode 25 - Final Level BossNyela's finally together with Sam but resigned to him leaving the Athena - then he gets a call from his mum. All her cancer has been removed and while she'll need check-ups, she's doing well.
|
Episode 26 - Leigh FeelingsNyela accepts Allie's offer: she's going to study in New York! Leigh reacts badly - Nyela's her 'in case of emergency' person. What will she do without her?
