Episode 1 - Toad & the Whale

Oliver's brake van, Toad, is in a cheery mood so he starts singing, which Oliver thinks sounds awful. When Toad spots a stranded whale on the beach, Oliver doesn't believe him.

Thomas delivers an eager front-leader named Jack to an excavation site, but Jack has a tendency to try jobs that he is not suited to.

  

Episode 1 - Cool Truckings

Heavy snow is blocking the narrow gauge tracks, so Madge must take Duncan by road. Duncan teases Madge saying their journey will be slow and dull. Madge decides to show Duncan how much fun the road can be and takes a detour.

  

Episode 1 - Thomas and the Jet Plane

Jeremy the Jet Plane boasts to Thomas about being able to fly and see everything at once, making Thomas wish he was a jet plane, too.

  

Episode 1 - Splish, Splash, Splosh

It's a rainy day on the Island of Sodor. Thomas decides to have a game of splashing puddles with Rosie It's such good fun that he continues this instead of going to the Wash Down to prepare for his Special.

  

Episode 1 - The Smelly Kipper

One evening at Tidmouth sheds, James is teasing Percy about being scared in the dark, so Henry challenges James to take the Flying Kipper that night for him.

  

Episode 1 - Santa's Little Engine

Thomas is sent to bring a real sleigh for the Fat Controller to ride in when he plays Santa at the Ulfstead Castle Christmas Fair. When the sleigh slips down the hill with the Fat Controller in it, Thomas has to rescue him!

  

Episode 1 - Twin Trouble

Donald and Douglas have an argument and refuse to speak to or work with each other. However when Donald comes off the tracks, only one engine can come and help him.

  

Episode 1 - Last Train for Christmas

It is Christmas Eve and a lot of passengers are coming home to Sodor for the holiday. Connor can't carry all the passengers who are trying to get on his train. He promises to come back and collect them, but the snow keeps falling and the engines are struggling to keep the track clear. It becomes a race against time and all the engines have to work together to clear the tracks and get the passengers home in time for Christmas.

  

Episode 1 - A New Arrival

When Thomas finds out that the Earl's Technology Fair will bring new inventions to Sodor, he sets out to prove that steam engines are the best inventions ever.

  

Episode 1 - Edward the Hero

Edward is given the special job of being the Sodor Search and Rescue. Edward decides that he needs to become a hero if he is to help Harold at the SSRC. He decides he must be strong, fast and stern to be a hero.

  

Episode 1 - Marion and the Dinosaurs

Marion has been digging along the mainline and is spending the night sleeping on a siding. A sound wakes her up and she sees a long line of dinosaurs going past in the moonlight! Marion thinks it must be a dream and tells Thomas as much the next day, but then the dinosaurs return and chase Marion all that way up to the castle. Where, thankfully, she discovers that they're actually model dinosaurs for the Earl's new Dinosaur Park!

  

Episode 1 - Buckled Tracks and Bumpy Trucks

One sunny day, the tracks buckle and bend and Dowager Hatt gives the Fat Controller a new hat, which everyone calls a safari hat. The Fat Controller gets sick of everyone teasing him and tries to find a way to get rid of it. Meanwhile, a piece of rubbish from Whiff's trucks falls out and lands on the ground causing a fire. Belle derails due to the buckled rails, meaning a solution has to be found.

  

Episode 1 - Molly's Special Special

To help a new engine named Molly feel special, Thomas has her empty trucks covered to make the others think she is pulling a very important load.

  

Episode 1 - Steam Team to the Rescue!

Sodor falls into chaos as the docks are overrun with deliveries and the diesels are out of action. The steam team pull together and work all through the night to save the day.

  

Episode 1 - Thomas to the Rescue

Diesel starts a rumour that the Fat Controller plans to scrap the steam engines. The next day, however, the diesels get faulty oil and fall ill.

  

Episode 1 - The Lion of Sodor

Thomas has to transport something called 'The Lion of Sodor'. It is actually a statue, but Thomas thinks it is a real lion and is too excited to listen to the other engines who try to correct his mistake.

  

Episode 1 - An Engine of Many Colours

After a crash, James is waiting at the Steamworks to be repaired. He hears that there might not be enough red paint to repaint him and gets worried he will be repainted a different colour.

  

Episode 1 - Thomas and the Monkey Palace

Thomas is pulling a truckload of coconuts when he encounters some cheeky monkeys.

  

Episode 1 - Confusion Without Delay

Rebecca, a big new tender engine, comes to the Island of Sodor, and works so hard not to be late, that she keeps leaving stations too early.

Episode 1 - Not So Slow Coaches

Annie and Clarabel are always complaining to Thomas about going too fast. Thomas likes to tease them, by going too fast or too slow, so Annie and Clarabel will ask him to go faster again. But when Annie and Clarabel find themselves coupled to Caitlin by mistake, they get a taste of what going fast is really like, and poor Thomas gets frightened that they might be taken to the mainland forever.

  

Episode 1 - Henry in the Dark

Henry is very excited as it's time for him to be repainted. But The Steamworks is very busy, and a frantic Kevin, by mistake, grabs some cans of luminous paint for Henry's paintjob. As soon as it gets dark Henry starts to glow, and Thomas, James and Gordon are convinced they've seen a ghost train. When Henry discovers he's been painted with the wrong paint he tries to explain, but nobody wants to listen. And when all the engines tell Sir Topham Hatt that they're too scared to leave Tidmouth Sheds at night, 'brave' Henry finds himself the only engine willing to work.

  

Episode 1 - Signals Crossed

Toby is always nervous when he has to go through Knapford Junction with the big gantry signal over the track. One day Toby waits nervously for his signal to change, but it stays on red. He waits and waits, holding up other engines, but the signal doesn't change. The Fat Controller is very cross until everybody finally realises the signal is broken.

  

Episode 1 - Gordon and Spencer

Gordon is jealous of Spencer, the world's fastest steam engine. But Spencer runs out of water on Gordon's Hill, making him the one in disgrace.

  

Episode 1 - Thomas and the Birthday Picnic

Thomas is given the job of taking the Fat Controller, his wife and his visiting mother for a birthday picnic, but his ideas for spots don't work out.

  

Episode 1 - Thomas and the Billboard

When a photographer comes to photograph the engines for a billboard Diesel accidentally obscures Thomas. Believing that Diesel did it on purpose, Thomas deliberately avoids him when he accidentally loses the billboard and has to get another arranged.

  

Episode 1 - The Party Surprise

Freddie decides to organize a winter party at the wharf instead of at Mr. Percival's house, so that Colin the Crane can join in, but neglects to tell Mr. Percival, with disastrous results.

  

Episode 1 - Gordon Runs Dry

Gordon is a proud engine who believes he is the fastest and best. But when a stone from one of Paxton's trucks bounces off his boiler Gordon doesn't want to wait to be checked over and hurries on his way.

  

Episode 1 - Two Wheels Good

Bertie, Thomas and Spencer get into a debate about how many wheels is best. Bertie has four wheels, Thomas has six and Spencer is very proud of his twelve. But when Spencer breaks down while taking the Duke and Duchess to Callan Castle, Thomas must transport his passengers instead. Then Thomas finds the track blocked and Bertie takes over. And when Bertie has a flat tyre who should turn up, but the Thin Controller on his bicycle. Surely the Duke and Duchess can't ride to Callan Castle on his bike! Luckily, the Thin Controller has a better idea about how to help.

  

Episode 1 - Thomas and the Jet Engine

Thomas is sent to the harbour to pick up a jet engine, but when Cranky accidentally turns the switch on with his arm, Thomas finds himself whizzing down the line!

  

Episode 1 - Thomas Saves the Day

While a new station is being built, Thomas has to go around a sharp bend though Annie and Clarabel help him. But when they are sent to the works, will Thomas find the courage to go around the bend, or allow the Troublesome Trucks to cause havoc?

  

Episode 2 - Marion And The Pipe

One day while repairing an embankment, Marion strikes something hard and insists it must be the mast of a Viking Ship. It looks like a water pipe to Thomas but Marion is adamant that it isn't. But the next day Thomas notices flooding near the bank and then there is a landslip and Marion has to admit her mistake and help prevent an accident.

  

Episode 2 - The Afternoon Tea Express

Stephen becomes very excited when the Earl gives him the special job of collecting the ingredients for the afternoon teas at the Castle. But Spencer teases him about being too old and slow.

  

Episode 2 - Long Lost Friend

It's Christmas time on the Island of Sodor and Gator is coming back after working in a land far away for a long time. He is looking forward to seeing his old friend Percy. When Percy hears that Gator is back, he is very excited and immediately heads off to see him. But the two engines keep missing each other and soon they both begin to have doubts about whether the other one wants to see them after all.

  

Episode 2 - Red vs. Blues

On match days Thomas is a very popular engine, because the Sodor football team wear blue. One match day a mainland team come to the island wearing red, and they cheer James because he is red too. Soon the two engines are competing with each other over who can bring the fans to the match faster. But by refusing to pick up supporters wearing the wrong colours, James ends up leaving the rival football team at the station since they are not yet wearing their kit and Thomas rushes right past the Fat Controller who is supposed to be the match referee. In all the confusion and delay there might not be a match at all!

  

Episode 2 - James to the Rescue

James is asked to be the Sodor Search and Rescue Engine but is horrified when the Fat Controller asks Toby to help him.

  

Episode 2 - Tuneful Toots

Rusty is excited about taking the brass band on a tour of the Island before a big concert. But he has so much fun, he winds up going too far and running out of diesel oil.

  

Episode 2 - Slippy Sodor

Thomas has to wear a replacement funnel while his own is being fixed. Thomas is asked to carry some special bubble liquid for Mr. Bubbles. But the other engines laugh at him and he rushes by them spilling the bubble liquid.

  

Episode 2 - Flatbeds of Fear

A delivery of pipes is being unloaded at Brendam Docks. But the engines start to hear scary spooky noises and soon Salty has them all convinced that it's the sound of the Flatbeds of Fear. Only Emily insists that there must be a sensible explanation, until she hears the sound herself and gets frightened. But it turns out Emily was right about their being a sensible explanation. The sound was just air blowing over the pipes!

  

Episode 2 - Mucking About

Thomas loves to race against Max and Monty, the cheeky dumper trucks. But, after one near accident too many, he decides he must ignore them if he wants to get on and be Useful. But, without Thomas to race against, Max and Monty muck about at the building site and Oliver is damaged. Then they race against the other construction vehicles, to see who can get their work done quickest. Rather than driving all the way to the dump, Max and Monty chuck all their building debris over a wall� not realising that the rubble is blocking Thomas's branch line! When Thomas returns with Oliver, he ploughs into the pile of dirt and rocks and is derailed. So Max and Monty have to stay up all night clearing the line!

  

Episode 2 - School of Duck

When a storm destroys a classroom at Harwick School, Duck tries to find a coach to take the children in.

  

Episode 2 - Excellent Emily

Emily is the only one who finishes her jobs on time, and thus is called "Excellent" by the Fat Controller. This goes straight to her smokebox, and she ignores the advice of all the other engines, which gets her into trouble.

  

Episode 2 - Thomas and the Pigs

Thomas is asked by Farmer Trotter to collect some straw for the piglets, which are soon to be born. But on the way, Thomas sees other things he thinks the piglets will like.

  

Episode 2 - No Snow For Thomas

It is a snowy day, but Thomas doesn't want to wear his snow plough. So he decides to hide it on a siding and pretends he doesn't know where it is. The Fat Controller has no choice but to leave Thomas in his shed.

  

Episode 2 - The Refreshment Lady's Tea Shop

Peter Sam is given the assignment of helping the Refreshment Lady choose a new location for a tea shop. But she only wishes to have a stand in each place...

  

Episode 2 - Millie and the Volcano

Harvey and the new engine Samson are putting the dinosaur models in place for the Earl's new Dinosaur Park. One of the dinosaurs swings towards Millie and gives her a fright. Samson and Harvey laugh, but Millie gets her own back by asking the groundsman to set his bonfire behind the model of the volcano and making them both think it's erupting!

  

Episode 2 - Kevin's Cranky Friend

Cranky the crane is very busy down at Brendam Docks. He struggles to keep on schedule, so the Fat Controller decides to send Kevin from the Steamworks to help him. The only problem is that Cranky doesn't want any help.

  

Episode 2 - Tiger Trouble

When Thomas learns that tourists come to India to try to see tigers, he wants to see tigers too.

Episode 2 - Steady Eddie

Edward, known for being the steadiest engine on Sodor, is told to take a brass wheel along the express line to the Waterworks, but opts to take the branch line so the people can see him.

  

Episode 2 - Skarloey Storms Through

When a storm comes to the hills of Sodor, the little narrow gauge engines are called to help bring the sheep to safety. Skarloey is frightened and whilst Rheneas and Peter Sam puff up and down with the sheep, Skarloey hides.

  

Episode 2 - What Rebecca Does

Rebecca is worried that, unlike the other engines, there is nothing special about her.

  

Episode 2 - Who's Geoffrey?

When Thomas causes a small accident by being silly he is so embarrassed that he blames it on someone else - called Geoffrey, an engine he just made up on the spur of the moment.

  

Episode 2 - Respect for Gordon

Gordon has a rattling firebox that the engines are teasing him for. So, he demands more respect, which only makes them respect him less.

  

Episode 2 - Salty's Secret

Salty, an old diesel, arrives on Sodor. He loves working by the sea but is most disappointed to find that the Fat Controller has sent for him to work at Centre Island Quarry. However, Salty is soon given a pleasant surprise.

  

Episode 2 - Percy and the Funfair

Percy is given the assignment of delivering coal while his friends get to help with a funfair, so Percy puts off his important coal delivery to help them.

  

Episode 2 - No Sleep for Cranky

Cranky is always feeling, well... cranky! This is because every night he has to stay up late to load and unload goods. One day, Salty gets on the crane's nerves so much that Cranky drops some pipes and blocks the Main Line!

  

Episode 2 - It's Only Snow

Thomas hates to take his snowplough during the winter, but he cheers up when he gets to take a Christmas Tree to the village with Toby.

  

Episode 2 - Free the Roads

Bulgy thinks that people should travel by bus instead of rail until he learns that having so many passengers is not so easy for the buses on their own.

  

Episode 2 - Fish

Thomas is hasty and decides to haul all the trucks with loads of fish he has to deliver all at once. He soon finds that in doing so, they are too heavy to pull in one shot.

  

Episode 2 - Thomas and the Firework Display

Thomas wishes he could collect the fireworks stock to deliver to the Harvest Fireworks Display but feels most disappointed when James is chosen to do the job instead. James, however, breaks down.

  

Episode 2 - Three Steam Engines Gruff

One day Thomas notices a broken fence on Farmer McColl's farm and warns Trevor, the traction engine. Thomas thinks that's the end of it, but Percy thinks a broken fence sounds spooky and later that night is convinced he heard something under the bridge. Thomas thinks Percy is being silly, until he comes to the bridge and hears something too. It's like a moaning sound. Toby and Percy have heard it too and are convinced that it's a troll like in the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. They race over the bridge on the way back and leave Thomas to try scaring the troll away, if that really is what it is under there�

  

Episode 2 - World of Tomorrow

When a pair of crooks steal the plans for a great new invention, there is a high-speed chase to try and get them back.

  

Episode 3 - Fogman

Cyril is a fogman and the engines like him a lot. He warns them when there is fog ahead. Fat Controller decides to replace him with a very loud fog horn. But the foghorn causes a rockslide and Thomas is just down the line.

  

Episode 3 - Away from the Sea

When Salty the dockside diesel develops engine trouble he worries he will be sent away from the docks. And when a new steam engine Porter arrives to help out, Salty becomes convinced that Porter has been sent to replace him.

  

Episode 3 - Spic and Span

A railway inspector is coming, and all the engines are determined to win the Cleanest Engine Award. Thomas and Percy find this difficult to do...

  

Episode 3 - Sonny's Second Chance

Sonny is trying to prove himself to be a useful engine so that he can stay working on Sodor, but nobody seems to trust him... nobody apart from Diesel, that is! But can Diesel be trusted?

  

Episode 3 - Emily Knows Best

Emily wants to prove to Toby that she's fit to be a queen by telling Percy of an easier route. But it might just worsen her reputation, since Mavis is now headed straight for Percy.

  

Episode 3 - Snow Tracks

Gordon thinks he's the strongest engine. Ignoring the advice of the Fat Controller not to climb any steep hills in the snow, Gordon does. In the process he sploshes Spencer, crashes into some trucks and derails Thomas.

  

Episode 3 - Gordon Takes a Tumble

Gordon doesn't feel that it would be dignified for an express engine to pull trucks, but when Salty teases him, Gordon is determined to show him how an express engine pulls trucks.

  

Episode 3 - Saved You

Thomas has to take a fireman to Maithwaite for a medal ceremony and decides to try and help the engines on the way, but all his attempts end in failure.

  

Episode 3 - Rosie's Funfair Special

Rosie and Emily are pulling a train for a fair, but Rosie wants to pull it alone to prove her worth. Her attempt goes badly wrong, causing all sorts of accidents, and she only ends up delivering two trucks.

  

Episode 3 - Salty's Stormy Tale

Salty is hurt when he hears Thomas and Percy making fun of him. But that night, being the clever diesel he is, he stops what could've been a terrible shipwreck.

  

Episode 3 - Duncan And The Grumpy Passenger

Duncan is the grumpiest engine on the narrow gauge railway. He is always complaining about one thing or another. But when Duncan gets a very grumpy passenger, Duncan finds his grumpiness very annoying. So he decides to do everything he can to make the grumpy passenger stop complaining. But Duncan soon learns that you can't make everyone happy.

  

Episode 3 - The Frozen Turntable

One cold evening the steam engines return to Tidmouth sheds and discover the turntable is frozen stuck, meaning only one berth is accessible. Gordon thinks he should have it, but Thomas insists they need to save it for Percy.

Episode 3 - Scruff's Makeover

Scruff works with Whiff at the Waste Dump collecting rubbish trucks. When the Fat Controller sees how rusty and dirty Scruff looks, he insists that he goes straight to the Steamworks to be repainted.

  

Episode 3 - Flour Power

Thomas has to work with Diesel on Halloween, and he's up to his old tricks. But later, at the flour mill, Thomas gets him back with his own spook.

  

Episode 3 - Chucklesome Trucks

When Rebecca works with the Troublesome Trucks everyone expects the worst, but Rebecca defies expectations and has a very chucklesome day.

  

Episode 3 - Harvey to the Rescue

Harvey the Crane Engine arrives in Sodor on trial. Some of the engines tease him for his strange looks but when Percy has an accident with some trucks, they soon change their minds.

  

Episode 3 - Engine of the Future

Hugo is one of the fastest and most unusual engines ever to arrive on Sodor. Shaped more like a zeppelin than a railway engine he even has a propeller at the back. But when Stephen declares that Hugo must be the engine of the future the other engines start to fear that he will take over and shun him, refusing to let him share their shed or even to talk to him. But Hugo has real limitations and Percy realises that they've all hurt his feelings. He and Thomas convince the others that they need to make up and accept Hugo as one of their friends.

  

Episode 3 - Slow Stephen

Stephen is the oldest engine on the Island of Sodor and people love to see him, so sometimes he makes special journeys round the island. He's still called the Rocket, though he's much slower than the other engines. Sometimes they have to slow down for him, which Gordon in particular doesn't like. But it's because Stephen travels so slowly that he notices that the Suspension Bridge is damaged and manages to alert the other engines in time to avoid a disaster!

  

Episode 3 - Stop That Bus!

Thomas feels sorry that Bertie doesn't get to travel on the rails so decides to take Bertie on a tour on Sodor by rail. Bertie rolls onto Thomas's flatbed and soon they're off on their adventure.

  

Episode 3 - Number One Engine

Thomas gets into trouble when racing with Hong-Mei, another blue, number one tank engine.

  

Episode 3 - Blown Away

A storm is approaching and Skiff and Joe, the Lighthouse Keeper, patrol Arlesburgh, helping everyone to prepare for it. Duck and Oliver don't think a 'tiny little railboat' should be out in a storm and it seems they are right when Skiff's anchor rope snaps and his sail unfurls. Skiff is terrified as he gets blown down the track and right into a tree that lightning has brought down across the branchline. When Skiff realises that both Oliver and Duck are heading towards the tree he manages to raise his sail to warn them and avert a serious accident.

  

Episode 3 - The Water Wheel

Thomas thinks he has been given very silly cargo until Hong-Mei explains that it is a very important water wheel, made from bamboo.

  

Episode 3 - Timothy and the Rainbow Truck

One day Bill and Ben tell Timothy he needs to find a truck that is blue and red and yellow and brown. Bill and Ben insist the truck is real, so Timothy sets off to look for it. Bill and Ben think they are very funny, but Timothy has the last laugh when he actually finds some trucks that match their description and brings back smelly rubbish trucks bound for the dump.

  

Episode 3 - Duncan The Humbug

Everyone is happy at Christmas time except for Duncan the Scottish narrow gauge engine, who seems to be grumbling even more than usual. But Victor offers Duncan a new coat of paint if he can only not grumble for one whole day. Duncan rises to the challenge, but it is not so easy for an engine who likes to grumble to give up the habit of a lifetime.

  

Episode 3 - Seeing Is Believing

Thomas's friend Merlin comes to Sodor from the Mainland for the first time, and Percy wants to see him.

  

Episode 3 - Percy's New Whistle

Percy's loud whistle blowing to show that he can make as loud a sound as Arry and Bert's horns distracts some of the others and is told by the Fat Controller to only whistle at appropriate times.

  

Episode 3 - Time for a Story

The Fat Controller announces that the library is holding a special story time. He needs an engine to deliver the books and Thomas is so excited that he has been chosen he doesn't wait to for the books to be tied in place.

  

Episode 3 - Sir Handel in Charge

The Thin Controller asks Sir Hangel to ensure that a train full of logs is ready for Thomas to collect. This is an urgent Special, and the Thin Controller tells Sir Handel to ask the first engines he sees to help him.

  

Episode 3 - The Truth About Toby

Toby stubbornly refuses to fill up with coal just because Henrietta keeps reminding him to.

  

Episode 3 - Disappearing Diesels

Paxton likes to be friends with everyone, diesels and steamies alike, but it's not easy to be friends with Diesel. Diesel gives Paxton a terrible fright when he makes him think that all the other diesels have disappeared. He hides and races away from Paxton. But when Diesel runs out of fuel, it is Paxton who takes him by surprise by offering him help. Paxton gives him a push to the fuel tank, and a taste of what friendship might be like.

  

Episode 3 - Thomas's Tricky Tree

Duncan and Peter Sam claim that Thomas does not know what a Christmas Tree looks like, so the angry tank engine refuses help from the other, nicer Narrow Gauge engines.

  

Episode 4 - Scaredy Engines

On Halloween, Edward tells some spooky ghost stories. On the same night, Thomas, Percy and Duck are sent to the Smelter Yard. Thomas says he can manage, so off Percy and Duck go. How brave is Thomas when he's on his own?

  

Episode 4 - Thomas and the Circus

Thomas stubbornly insists on pulling the entire Circus Train by himself, but soon finds it too heavy to pull on his own.

  

Episode 4 - Hugo and the Airship

When a zeppelin comes flying over the Island of Sodor, Henry and Percy think it must be Hugo flying. James says he knew it! He was never an engine at all! But when Hugo sees the airship he is even more excited than they are. He chases it right to the end of the quay at Arlesburgh Harbour and watches sadly as it flies off over the sea. Hugo is convinced that he is meant to fly too. He tries his best, but he can't get off the ground. He is very disappointed, until Thomas manages to convince him that he is a very special railway engine who truly belongs on the rails.

When railway inspectors come to the Island of Sodor, they start their inspection on Thomas' branch line.

There is a coal shortage at the Clay Pits. Timothy warns Bill and Ben to go easy and spare their coal. But Bill and Ben don't listen, teasing each other, and Timothy and messing about, until they do run out of coal! Luckily Timothy runs on oil, so he manages to keep going, delivering clay to the docks and bringing back coal for the tank engine twins.

  

Episode 4 - A Bad Day for Harold the Helicopter

Percy likes taking the Post Train but when he is held up at a broken signal one day, Harold decides to deliver the loads instead, but all at once, which turns out to be a very big mistake!

  

Episode 4 - No More Mr Nice Engine

Hiro is one of the strongest engines on Sodor, and he is also very polite and gentle. Diesel tells Hiro that the only way to get the trucks to do what you want is to give them a biff and a bash, but Hiro is not convinced.

When an action movie is filmed on the Indian railway, Thomas is desperate to be involved.

Gordon is scared that he'll be scrapped due to strange noises inside him that he's making. Will he inform about his problems or will he instead try to hide them?

The first time Samson came to Sodor he got lost. But Samson is a very proud engine and he doesn't like to admit his mistakes. So he finds it very hard to listen to the other engines trying to warn him that he is making a mistake again when he accidentally takes Gordon's Express Coaches to the quarry, instead of the trucks used for carrying stone.

  

Episode 4 - Something Fishy

Arthur is disappointed when the new line at the Fishing Village is given to Thomas - who hates fish. But Thomas' attitude leaves him in a mess only Arthur can help with.

  

Episode 4 - The Missing Christmas Decorations

No one knows who is taking the Steamies' Christmas decorations from Tidmouth Sheds. Until Percy discovers Diesel 10 stealing them and chases him back to the Dieselworks, where he also discovers poor forgotten Sidney.

Peter Sam discovers a statue of the magical engine, Proteus, in a siding. He decides to take it to a storytelling session without his friends knowing.

Episode 4 - The Little Engine Who Raced Ahead

Phillip, the little diesel boxcab, arrives at Knapford full of energy and enthusiasm. When Gordon tells Phillip how fast he is, Phillip is determined to prove that he is faster and challenges him to a race. Unfortunately Gordon is resting on the siding when Phillip comes over and when the express engine tells Phillip to "go away", he thinks it's a challenge and races off. When he gets to the other end of the line and Gordon still hasn't overtaken him, Phillip assumes he's won, causing Gordon to show him just how fast he really can be. Phillip is very impressed, but he is not in the least disheartened as he believes he still beat Gordon the first time.

  

Episode 4 - Toad's Adventure

Oliver is always telling his brake van Toad about his adventures and Toad longs to have an adventure of his own. So when the chance comes to work with James, Toad is very excited. But James doesn't like pulling trucks and goes too fast and then, when a coupling snaps, Toad gets a bigger adventure than he bargained for.

  

Episode 4 - Wayward Winston

Winston is the Fat Controller's track inspection vehicle, but unfortunately the Fat Controller is not a very good driver and Winston feels embarrassed when the other engines laugh at him.

  

Episode 4 - Kenji on the Rails Again

When Kenji hears that he must travel home to Japan alone, he gets scared and tries to hide. So, Thomas sets out to find him.

  

Episode 4 - Duncan and the Hot Air Balloon

The Percival twins are to be getting a ride in a hot air balloon for their birthday, but Duncan, who used to give them their rides, wants to take them himself, so he attempts to get rid of the balloon.

  

Episode 4 - Fiery Flynn

Flynn tries to impress the Diesels when Devious Diesel tells Flynn that he is not a busy fire engine. Flynn starts to put out fires that don't actually exist.

  

Episode 4 - Saving Edward

Edward starts to wheeze steam when he works, and fears that the Fat Controller will scrap him. Thomas tries to cover for him, but might just worsen the situation.

Alicia Botti, the singer is coming to Sodor. Thomas was excited that he was to collect her. Also arriving that day is a new engine and when Percy says that he is meant to be even more fun than Thomas, Thomas is worried.

It's the day of the country show and engine rally in the hills. Madge the snub-nose lorry is to pull the brass band! Interfering Madge takes it upon herself to make sure the engineers get the other engines sparkling clean.

Gordon becomes very worried when he gets a serious case of the giggles.

  

Episode 4 - Duck In The Water

When Duck gets stuck on some flooded track, James is sent to fetch Rocky to rescue him. But James doesn't wait for Rocky to secure his crane arm and they end up knocking down a signal before they arrive at the accident site. Without a signal to warn them, the other engines don't stop, and what began as one small accident for Duck soon escalates into a much bigger one involving several other engines!

  

Episode 4 - Ryan and Daisy

Ryan and Daisy share a shed in Arlesburgh. Daisy has been around a while and she likes to do just what work she chooses � and no more! Ryan, meanwhile, is a new engine who is willing to work and eager to please. Daisy takes advantage of Ryan's good nature by encouraging him to help her out with some extra tasks. But when Ryan takes it upon himself to take on even more of Daisy's responsibilities, he ends up causing confusion and delay! With trucks in front and behind, he sails through a red light � and delivers passengers to the quarry! Daisy realises she has not been a good friend and the Fat Controller reminds Ryan and Daisy to work together in future.

  

Episode 4 - Thomas and the Runaway Kite

The engines were preparing for the Sodor Kite Gala. The Fat Controller's grandchildren are up on the hill with their kite, when it blows away, Thomas promises to catch it for them.

Thomas is on his branch line when a passenger pulls the emergency cable and he has to stop quickly. But it turns out not to be an emergency at all, but a bird watcher who's spotted a rare bird. To make matters worse, Clarabel has a wheel flat after being dragged along with her brakes on. So the next time Thomas sees the bird watcher he refuses to stop to collect him, but he soon learns that that's not the right thing to do either.

  

Episode 5 - Toby's New Whistle

Toby is fitted with a brand new whistle. Toby finds this new whistle a bit daunting. So instead, Toby comes up with a plan. If he is very careful and drives very slowly he won't need to use it.

  

Episode 5 - Counting on Nia

Nia is a really clever engine and knows about all sorts of things, but when the Fat Controller asks her to take Thomas' coaches, Annie and Clarabel and pick up passengers from Knapford Station, Nia has great trouble finding the right platform.

  

Episode 5 - The Haunted Mine

Percy goes to collect some goods at the Abandoned Mine, and sees an old chimney there sink to the ground. Percy is spooked, and hears from Donald and Douglas the next morning that the "naughty gnomes" are responsible.

  

Episode 5 - Banjo and the Bushfire

Thomas offers a lift to a ranger while working in the Australian Rain Forest. Thomas is excited to learn from her about all the animals that live there, but he is too loud and impatient to be very useful.

The engines are hiding a big secret from their blue tank engine friend, but what could it possibly be?

The Sodor Wishing Tree is struck by lightning, so some workmen are bought in to help it. However, Henry believes they are going to cut it down, and decides to obstruct their route.

When Duncan becomes a little fed up with his straw deliveries, he decides to find a more important job. He abandons his straw collection to try some other engines' jobs instead.

Thomas is worried that if he waits too long for Farmer McColl and his chickens, he won't make it in time to see the carnival. When he finally leaves, he goes very fast with the chickens.

  

Episode 5 - The Missing Breakdown Train

Judy and Jerome, the breakdown train, have been stuck at Knapford Yard for some time � having been somewhat superseded by Rocky and even Harvey. Ryan hears their sad story and offers to take them to Arelsburgh Harbour for a change of scenery. They love it there at first but soon take advantage of other engines so they can have a tour around the island. Meanwhile, Daisy has a run in with a bull and is derailed. When Thomas goes looking for the breakdown train, it is nowhere to be found! Ryan feels responsible � not just for Daisy but also to make sure Judy & Jerome get to be Really Useful. Ryans catches up with Judy and Jerome in the end and Sir Topham Hatt is reminded how useful they can be. He decides they will have a new home at Arlesburgh with their friends Ryan and Daisy.

  

Episode 5 - Best Engine Ever

When Emily breaks down and disrupts a race between Connor and Caitlin, Caitlin shunts Emily to the castle causing Emily to travel faster than she ever has been before. Emily is in awe of Caitlin, who she believes is the best engine ever and becomes disheartened at her own ability. But when Caitlin's brakes fail, Emily races to save her from an accident proving that she too can be a Really Useful Engine.

  

Episode 5 - Emily and Dash

Emily is given the special of looking after Dash and taking him to the Children's Steam Fair. Emily sees that Dash can make special tweeting noises with his whistle.

  

Episode 5 - Emily Saves the World

Emily thinks all the other engines are pulling much more exciting loads then she is, so when she is given a huge globe to transport she decides to show it off. But as she heads off around the island, the huge globe gets knocked off her flatbed and rolls around causing confusion and delay before she manages to get it back again.

Episode 5 - Buzzy's Bees

Thomas is excited. He has to deliver new bee hives to Farmer Trotter. Hiro warns Thomas to go through the woodland so that the bees would rest but Thomas decides the bees would find the track by the field much prettier!

  

Episode 5 - Toby Had a Little Lamb

During the winter, Toby is flagged down by a farmer who needs a vet to examine his lambs on the other side of the hill. Duck tries to clear away the snow, but it becomes too thick for him to plow.

  

Episode 5 - The Perfect Gift

The whole island is celebrating Christmas and there are decorations everywhere, but it doesn't look very Christmassy at the scrap yard. Percy starts to worry that Reg is missing out and he tries to find something to take to Reg to cheer him up. But the only thing Reg seems happy about is scrap. Percy discovers that Reg is celebrating Christmas his own way and has been making his own decorations from scrap.

  

Episode 5 - Duck and the Slip Coaches

It's high summer when many more people visit the island. The Fat Controller is concerned about getting them all to their destinations on time. When Duck tells the other engines about the slip coaches they used on the Great Western Railway, which could be uncoupled at stations without stopping, James tells the Fat Controller and claims it's his idea. But James has never used slip coaches before and soon runs into trouble.

  

Episode 5 - Thomas Makes a Mistake

Thomas causes confusion and delay by not seeking help when he makes a mistake.

  

Episode 5 - Steamie Stafford

Stafford is a battery-operated engine and is very quiet. When he overhears some children saying he doesn't sound like a proper engine, he is very upset. So he asks Thomas and Percy to teach him out to make chuffing sounds.

  

Episode 5 - Henry Spots Trouble

When Henry hears that the Fat Controller's grandchildren have chickenpox, he starts to worry about whether engines can get chickenpox too.

  

Episode 5 - James Works It Out

James is given the job of taking coal to Great Waterton. Amongst his train is Hector, who gives James advice on how to cope with the winter weather. James, refusing to be told what to do by a truck, ignores him, which gets him into trouble.

  

Episode 5 - Emily and the Special Coaches

Emily is collecting Gordon's new coaches, but she gets into a fight with Diesel on the way. So Diesel steals the coaches and makes Emily chase him down.

  

Episode 5 - Elizabeth the Vintage Lorry

Thomas, by accident, discovers an old sentinel lorry named Elizabeth who has been left in a shed for years.

  

Episode 5 - Pouty James

James likes to show off and be the centre of attention, but when he doesn't get his own way, he sulks and pouts. One day James is showing off so much that the passengers start complaining so the Fat Controller takes his coaches away. James starts to pout and he is still pouting the next morning. He is so sulky and rude that the Fat Controller leaves him in his shed. Eventually James apologises and the Fat Controller gives him some work to do, but when James discovers that he's pulling waste trucks he starts sulking again and it is only when his friends help him laugh at himself that James finally manages to find a way to do what he has to do, and even enjoy it!

  

Episode 5 - Thomas and the Tuba

Thomas is taking the brass band, but he leaves the tuba player behind. As Thomas goes across the Island, the tuba player finds ways to catch up to him.

  

Episode 5 - Gone Fishing

Bill and Ben, see Harvey the crane engine at Brendam Docks. They tease him about having a hook and ask 'is he going fishing?' Porter helps Harvey see the positive side of being both a crane and an engine.

  

Episode 6 - The Way She Does It

When the Fat Controller gives Daisy the job of conveying some special passengers up to the holiday town of Harwick, she gets carried away with the responsibility � deciding that, because she is a very special engine, they must be very special passengers! Not stopping for a group of children with sticky ice lollies and refusing to pull a dusty baggage truck results in the passengers not being able to perform their puppet show! Once the audience has been specially bussed in for the show, Daisy is humbled as she becomes a puppet stand for the performance of� a Punch & Judy puppet show!

  

Episode 6 - Samson Sent for Scrap

Scruff breaks down and has to be sent to the Steamworks, Samson is given the job of collecting up the track-side scrap. But Samson ends up taking his new responsibilities a little too seriously and collects up everything from the postman's bike to the Fat Controller's car. The Fat Controller has to race off to save it before it ends up getting crunched by Reg's claw!

  

Episode 6 - Henry's Hero

Henry and Hiro are both very strong engines, but one day as they are working together they both start to billow dark smoke from their funnels. Duck tells them they have taken on some of the bad coal.

  

Episode 6 - Salty All At Sea

Salty loves to talk about things like sea monsters and to tell tall tales and scary stories that sometimes frighten other engines.

  

Episode 6 - Philip to the Rescue

When Philip shows off to James about how many trucks he can pull, James decides to prove that he is the stronger engine by pulling a very long train. Soon disaster strikes as James can't control all of the trucks and comes off the rails breaking through the side of a stone bridge. Philip races to save James and the brave little engine slips under James to rescue his new friend from falling and props him up until help arrives.

  

Episode 6 - The Thomas Way

When Harold the helicopter breaks down near Callan Castle, Duck and Thomas are sent to take him to the Sodor Search and Rescue for repair.

  

Episode 6 - The Biggest Present of All

It's a great day for Sodor! Hiro is returning to the Island. Thomas and Percy are very excited. The Fat Controller tells Thomas and Percy that he is organising a welcome party for Hiro at Knapford.

  

Episode 6 - Seeing the Sights

Thomas is determined to show the tourists as many sights as possible, but he goes so quickly that he leaves behind passengers at all the stops.

  

Episode 6 - Rosie Is Red

After the engines tease Thomas that Rosie is his "special friend", he acts rudely towards her.

  

Episode 6 - Chickens to School

Emily offers to help Thomas with his loads, but Thomas refuses any help whatsoever his friend has to offer, or at least at first.

  

Episode 6 - Thomas and the Golden Eagle

Thomas and Percy strike a deal to help each other with their jobs so that they can both finish early and see a Golden Eagle. But Thomas gets too eager and forgets to do his part.

  

Episode 6 - Up, Up and Away!

Thomas and Percy are given the special of delivering a giant balloon that Mr Bubbles has blown up for his Big Balloon Show.

  

Episode 6 - Hiro Helps Out

At Knapford Station, Hiro sees that the Fat Controller is very busy. Edward puffs in. He needs instructions for the visitors he has. Hiro decides he will help the Fat Controller, by making decisions for him.

  

Episode 6 - Laid Back Shane

Shane is having too much fun to stop and refuel; that is, until he runs out of coal and is stranded in the hot, red desert.

  

Episode 6 - Spencer's V.I.P.

When Spencer brings a Very Important Passenger from the mainland, he is so determined to be on time that he doesn't notice he's been sent down the wrong track. By the time he arrives at Knapford, he is very late indeed and the V.I.P. refuses to travel back with him. The other engines all compete to be chosen to take the V.I.P. back to the mainland, but rushing to do things quickly and showing off, only leads to confusion and delay. And Spencer ends up being given a second chance.

  

Episode 6 - Not Now, Charlie!

Charlie is the small purple engine who likes to tell jokes. One day Charlie discovers an elephant on the line and tries to alert the other engines, but they all think he is joking.

  

Episode 6 - Thomas and the Dragon

Thomas is terrified when he is given the honour of bringing a dragon to the Chinese New Year celebrations.

  

Episode 6 - Jack Jumps In

Thomas delivers an eager front-leader named Jack to an excavation site, but Jack has a tendency to try jobs that he is not suited to.

  

Episode 6 - The Grand Opening

Skarloey is upset about being late. Meanwhile, the hot air balloon the Fat Controller is on loses air. Luckily, Skarloey spots them and helps on his way to the grand opening.

  

Episode 6 - Tram Trouble

The Great Waterton parade is to take place, and Toby is given the job of leading it. Thomas is pleased for him, but begins to worry when he learns that a new steam tram, named Flora, must also take part.

  

Episode 6 - Thomas, Percy and the Squeak

Thomas is assigned to take opera singer Alicia Botti from the docks, meaning that he gets to be cleaned before Percy.

  

Episode 6 - Outback Thomas

Thomas sees Shane taking passengers on an outback adventure and is impressed by Shane's showmanship - and decides to do it himself.

  

Episode 6 - Middle Engine

Percy hates being a "middle engine" but 'Arry and Bert, the Smelter Yard diesels, trick him into being one. James boasts at the shed to the others that the pair wouldn't be able to trick him. They do so James, refuses to move.

An American engine named Hank arrives on Sodor and Thomas must show him around, while doing his jobs. Misinterpreting Hank's compliments towards him as an insult, Thomas attempts to pull all his heavy trains at once...

  

Episode 6 - Ding-a-Ling

Mr Percival, The Thin Controller, is having a new bicycle delivered - but it's missing a bell. Determined to prove himself to James, Freddie becomes determined to find one.

  

Episode 6 - Thomas the Quarry Engine

When Thomas and Diesel are sent to collect trucks from the Ffarquhar Quarry, they argue about who should be the back engine. But then Diesel suggests he take the trucks with Mavis and leave Thomas to look after the quarry until they get back. When they don't come back, Thomas gets fed up and decides to take another load of troublesome trucks on his own and then there is trouble!

  

Episode 6 - Skiff and the Mermaid

Skiff becomes convinced that a mermaid is coming to Sodor and is desperate to see her. Sir Topham Hatt, Bridget and Stephen are about to take a Railboat Tour in Skiff when he spies a fishy tail out to sea. He takes off with Sir Topham Hatt on board and they end up running aground in a cove, where Sir Topham Hatt behaves like a marooned castaway. Sodor Search and Rescue are sent to find them and, when they return, Skiff does finally see the mermaid - though she turns out to be a carved figurehead for the pirate ship.

  

Episode 6 - Henry and the Wishing Tree

Henry wishes he could pull passenger trains like Gordon instead of log trucks. However, Henry comes upon a Wishing Tree which Sodor's children regulary visit later on that day.

Sidney is shunting a flatbed of engine parts, but he cannot remember what he is supposed to be doing with them. Paxton thinks this sounds like a kind of mystery that can only be solved by a Special Agent.

  

Episode 7 - Bill or Ben?

Connor is a new engine to the island of Sodor, so when Bill and Ben see him for the first time they decide to play a trick on him and pretend to be able to go faster than him.

  

Episode 7 - Trusty Rusty

Duncan ignores Rusty's warning about the old wooden bridge, for being "only a diesel". But Duncan runs out of coal on the bridge - just as it starts to fall...

  

Episode 7 - The Phantom Express

One night James tries to scare Percy by telling him that there's a ghost at Ulfstead Castle. Stephen reassures Percy that there is no such thing as ghosts, but James comes to the castle to try to scare both of them.

Philip learns that sometimes even the smallest engine's actions can make them the bigger engine.

  

Episode 7 - Missing Gator

Percy misses his friend Gator and keeps thinking back to the times they had together. It's making him sad, so the other engines advise him to keep himself busy to take his mind off it. So Percy rushes about trying to keep busy, and ends up losing control of some trucks which roll into an old mine. Percy is frightened to go in after them, until he remembers Gator again and what Gator taught him about being brave!

  

Episode 7 - Toby's Special Surprise

After his friends are given important jobs and he isn't, Toby comes to the conclusion that he must find something special. But his search makes him late for his actual job.

  

Episode 7 - A Friend in Need

Ned the Steam Shovel accidentally knocks loose the important keystones from an old rail bridge, and Thomas is just down the line. Jack, however, with a bright idea, jumps in...

  

Episode 7 - Toad's Bright Idea

Gator is waiting to be loaded onto a ship, but the ship is delayed. So Gator is waiting around doing nothing. So when Oliver breaks down one night, Gator is very happy to help. He sets off to collect Oliver's trucks and promises to bring them back before morning. But Gator's lamp keeps going out and he decides not to stop or he will be late. Toad, the brake van, doesn't think it is safe and they argue, but in the end it is Toad's bright idea that helps Gator deliver the trucks in time.

Bill and Ben's latest game consists of hiding trucks and making other engines hunt for them.

  

Episode 7 - Thomas and the Shooting Star

When a shooting star is due to appear and the power company's generator breaks, Thomas takes longer routes to still see the star. But it gets too late and dark, and he gets lost.

  

Episode 7 - Mike's Whistle

When Duck's driver boils an egg in his whistle it leaves Duck making a very funny sound. The other engines think it is very funny, but Mike insists that an engine that can't whistle is not a proper engine. Mike can be grumpy and tends to overheat, but when he loses his temper with a cow later that day he blows his own whistle cap right off and into a field. The big engines say that Edward is too old, so Duck comes to take Edward's trucks. Later, Gordon is convinced that he can bank a train up the hill even while carrying his own.

  

Episode 7 - James and the Red Balloon

A red hot air balloon has arrived on the Island of Sodor and Thomas is sent to fetch it. The balloon becomes a popular tourist attraction, but James worries it will take his passengers away.

  

Episode 7 - Don't Go Back

While working at the Quarry, Diesel challenges Thomas to a race. There is a catch, however: the engines must race backwards. Their racing results in Mavis, 'Arry and Bert all being derailed.

  

Episode 8 - Samson and the Fireworks

Samson is terrified of fireworks, and when he mistakes the sound of a warning detonator for fireworks, he is so frightened that he races off into the fog and gets lost.

  

Episode 8 - The World's Strongest Engine

Diesel is back after Henry has an accident, and annoys the other engines by boasting about how he is the world's strongest engine. To prove it, Diesel tries to pull 20 trucks at once, but they all have their brakes on.

  

Episode 8 - Thomas in the Wild

Thomas is excited about taking a film crew to a nature reserve, but gets distracted in finding a giant panda in the wild.

  

Episode 8 - Jack Frost

The weather is getting colder so the Fat Controller asks James and Percy to make extra coal deliveries. Thomas seemingly warns Percy that he should be careful or else scary Jack Frost will get him.

  

Episode 8 - It's Only Snow

Thomas hates to take his snowplough during the winter, but he cheers up when he gets to take a Christmas Tree to the village with Toby.

  

Episode 8 - Dunkin Duncan

Duncan is impatient while working at the slate mines, annoying the other engines. He then tries to do his job faster and gets tangled in the coupling of an empty truck on the incline.

Episode 8 - Useful Railway

The three miniature engines are the smallest on the Island of Sodor. People love to come to see them, but sometimes they don't seem to take them seriously, making comments about them being cute, or like toys, but not really seeing them as being useful. When it is time for the sheep's wool to be delivered to market, the Small Controller says it is the miniature engines' chance to prove how useful they really are. Rex takes on the job and it is all going well, until an overturned cart spills bales of wool onto the line and poor Rex ends up being derailed.

  

Episode 9 - Thomas' Animal Ark

It's Christmas and the boiler at the Animal Park breaks down, so Thomas needs to find a way to keep the animals warm.

  

Episode 9 - Percy's Chocolate Crunch

There is a water shortage and Percy is upset because he can't be washed as often as he'd like. He gets dirty very quickly and so decides to deliver some sugar to the Chocolate Factory - he can't get dirty doing that, can he?

Skarloey and Rheneas' old line is too battered for them to run on, but Rusty has a plan to repair the line when the quarry is briefly closed down.

When a branch knocks away Peter Sam's whistle, Duncan teases him, and boasts that any proper engine has a whistle. To prove his point, Duncan starts whistling loudly, but it comes loose while he is delivering an organ.

Episode 11 - Emily's New Coaches

A new engine named Emily arrives and steals Annie and Clarabel. This makes Thomas cross, and he and the other engines make Emily feel rather unwelcomed.

  

Episode 12 - Percy Gets It Right

Percy warns everyone that a landslide might occur, but everyone is too busy to listen to him. However, Thomas is the victim of his ignorance as he passes that spot.
