Episode 1 - Season 1, Episode 1In Oxford’s Bodleian library, brilliant American historian and reluctant witch, Diana Bishop, unwittingly calls up an ancient magical manuscript - Ashmole 782 - which has been missing for centuries. Diana finds herself confronted by acclaimed geneticist and vampire, Matthew Clairmont, who is determined to get his hands on the book. Diana’s determination to not be frightened by Matthew as he struggles to control his predatory instincts fuels a dangerous connection between the two of them. And, when news of the book’s appearance spreads throughout the world of daemons, vampires and witches hiding in plain sight amongst humans, the hunt for the witch who summoned it takes on a deadly intensity.

Episode 2 - Season 1, Episode 2Blind to the interest she has stirred amongst creatures, Diana fights an increasing pull towards the magical and turns her back on her witch heritage. But, matters take an unexpectedly dark turn when Satu is sent by Peter Knox to intimidate her. In Venice, the beautiful but murderous, Juliette, has her fatal obsession with Matthew Clairmont re-awoken. And just as Diana decides to trust Matthew with a secret only she knows about the book, he flees in a desperate bid to protect her from his cravings. But, in doing so, he leaves Diana exposed to all of her enemies.

Episode 3 - Season 1, Episode 3Domenico takes information he’s extracted from Satu to menacing vampire, Gerbert, who gains the advantage he has been waiting for. After sending Juliette into the world to do his bidding, Gerbert consults with Meridiana, the witch whom he keeps in thrall, but what does the prophecy she delivers mean? In Oxford, Diana refuses to help Knox realise his supremacist longing to destroy the vampires and answers his threats with such a violent force of untamed elemental power, that it sets in motion a wider chain of events that bring her closer to Matthew but place her in even greater jeopardy.

Episode 4 - Season 1, Episode 4Matthew’s hope of keeping Diana safe at Sept-Tours appears short-lived as Ysabeau refuses to welcome the warmblood under her roof. Knox calls an emergency meeting of the Congregation to denounce Matthew for abducting a witch, but Matthew’s ferocious older brother, Baldwin, plays a careful game to maintain control in the face of Gerbert foretelling the end of the de Clermonts – and throws Diana to the lions. But, Diana isn’t the only witch facing persecution. Satu pays a shocking price for her curiosity when Knox discovers she has been searching through the witches’ archives and learned his guilty secret. Meanwhile, things turn nasty in Oxford for Marcus and Miriam as Juliette attacks.

Episode 5 - Season 1, Episode 5Gillian pays a heavy price for her disloyalty to Diana, but not before news that vampires are studying witch DNA reaches Knox. The fall-out threatens the fragile equilibrium between creatures, putting the focus on ending Matthew and Diana’s relationship - whatever the cost. Agatha treads a careful line of democracy at the Congregation, but Nathaniel continues to instigate daemon direct-action. Ysabeau relies on shock tactics to expel Diana until Matthew returns with breath-taking news about Diana’s DNA. Diana and Matthew are finally united in love, only for the unexpected to happen.

Episode 6 - Season 1, Episode 6Satu brutally tortures Diana in Gerbert’s isolated castle ruins. Matthew, now sworn to hunt down and kill anyone who tries to harm Diana, attempts a daring airborne rescue mission with Baldwin in tow, but they are too late to prevent Satu invoking dark magic in a bid to open up Diana and see the magic inside her. As Diana is forced to confront the idea that she might have been spellbound, she wonders what kind of monster she is. When Sophie confesses that she is a daemon born of witches, this news of cross-species offspring leaves Agatha reeling as she ponders the implications for all their lives.

Episode 7 - Season 1, Episode 7After confronting her aunts, Diana learns the tragic circumstances surrounding why she was spellbound as a child. Diana’s devastation at having lived her life as only half herself is interrupted by the Madison house releasing one of the missing pages from Ashmole 782, sent forward in time by Diana’s father Stephen, a time-walker. As their love grows, Matthew confesses to Diana that he wasn’t able to keep his two previous loves safe. Diana believes he won’t hurt her.... But an unexpected encounter threatens to tear them apart once again.

Episode 8 - Season 1, Episode 8Matthew’s attempt to rescue Diana from Juliette goes horribly wrong and Diana finally discovers just how lethal her magical powers can be. As Matthew lies dying, Diana must strike a dreadful bargain with the goddess and make the ultimate sacrificial pact with enduring consequences. A failed coup at the Congregation sees its most powerful and terrifying members go rogue as they close in fast on Madison, where a group of daemons, vampires and witches are now residing together. Baldwin tries to alert Matthew that time is up, but he can’t reach him. It’s a deadly race against time for Diana to take flight with Matthew before their pursuers arrive.

Episode 9 - Season 2, Episode 1In Madison, Satu, Knox and Gerbert arrive at the Bishop house to find that Matthew and Diana have disappeared. The couple arrives in 1590’s London and are confronted by a face from Matthew’s past. Diana realizes 16th century Matthew is different.

Episode 10 - Season 2, Episode 2In search of a mentor for her witchcraft, Diana meets the head of a local coven and a powerful witch who reveals a secret about Diana. Meanwhile, Matthew grows more at home in his old life.

Episode 11 - Season 2, Episode 3In the present day, Domenico finds a body in Oxford. Em practices higher magic to reach Diana’s mother. In 1590, Matthew and Diana explore John Dee’s library in search of the Book of Life. They later meet with Queen Elizabeth.

Episode 12 - Season 2, Episode 4Marcus tracks down evidence of Matthew and Diana’s journey to 1590 and is charmed in the process. Gerbert and Knox scheme together. Sophie goes into labor. Em secretly continues higher magic in spite of Sarah’s worries.

Episode 13 - Season 2, Episode 5Matthew and Diana arrive in France to face Matthew’s dead father, Philippe, who has a revelation for Diana. Diana practices self defense.

Episode 14 - Season 2, Episode 6Philippe provokes Matthew and pushes him to reveal his blood rage to Diana. Diana learns of the prophecy which predicted her arrival, and Matthew tells Diana how Philippe died. Diana and Matthew are married.

Episode 15 - Season 2, Episode 7Matthew and Diana arrive in Bohemia to search for the Book of Life. They meet Emperor Rudolf II, who immediately expresses a lascivious interest in Diana. Matthew displays protective jealousy and is pushed to the edge.

Episode 16 - Season 2, Episode 8Matthew worries that the Book of Life is making Diana ill. Back in present day, Marcus isn’t ready to give up on Phoebe and makes an impassioned plea. Knox threatens Sophie and Nathaniel’s baby.

Episode 17 - Season 2, Episode 9Matthew is forced to account for his disruptive visit to Bohemia. Matthew and Diana reach a new level of intimacy.

Episode 18 - Season 2, Episode 10Diana makes plans to complete her training with Goody Alsop—and perfect the ninth magical knot—in order to return home. Surprise encounters ensue.

Episode 19 - Season 3, Episode 1Matthew and Diana return from Elizabethan London to discover a chaotic scene. Peter Knox’s attack has left Em dead and Sept-Tours in shock. Amongst the darkness comes the news that Diana is carrying twins. At an emergency meeting of the Congregation, Agatha insists that Knox be removed but at a personal cost. As Em is laid to rest, Diana is comforted by the return of a familiar face, and Baldwin makes a demand that shakes up the de Clermont family.

Episode 20 - Season 3, Episode 2Diana and Matthew are shocked to be reunited with Jack Blackfriars; when they last saw him in the 16th century, he was a human boy, but now he is an adult vampire. As Chris seeks more samples from Matthew’s family to research blood-rage, Matthew and Diana learn difficult truths about Jack and about Benjamin, Matthew’s wayward son. Finally convinced that the only way to help Jack is to find a cure for blood-rage, Matthew and Marcus head to New Orleans while Diana searches for the Book of Life.

Episode 21 - Season 3, Episode 3In New Orleans, Matthew and Marcus struggle to reconnect with Marcus’s children. In London, Diana and Phoebe hunt for the missing pages from the Book of Life and find a lead in the British Library. Diana uses her magic to discover a link to one of the missing pages, leading her to Andrew Hubbard—but Knox is a step ahead of her. Matthew finally confronts the New Orleans vampires, who challenge him to name every single murdered vampire or face consequences.

Episode 22 - Season 3, Episode 4Worried about Matthew’s long absence, Miriam arrives in New Orleans and tries to convince him to return home. In London, Diana, Phoebe, and Sarah are struggling to pin down the elusive T.J. Weston and seek help from other witches. Meanwhile, in Venice, Satu is introduced to Benjamin, who has a proposition for her. Finally returned home, Matthew asks Baldwin to ratify the scion, but Baldwin is reluctant. Just when everything appears to have come together for Diana, she goes into labor.

Episode 23 - Season 3, Episode 5Benjamin’s plan to bring down the de Clermonts is set into motion when a captive witch, Lena, escapes him. Matthew and Diana return to Sept-Tours to hold a christening for the twins. In Venice, Baldwin reveals their plans to Gerbert, who demands he bring the babies to him in order to be examined. Fearing for the safety of the children, Ysabeau offers Matthew and Diana the option to flee and hide from the Congregation, but they are determined to fight.

Episode 24 - Season 3, Episode 6After receiving Benjamin’s message, Matthew leaves Sept-Tours at dawn to track him down. Diana enlists the help of Fernando and Sarah to come to Oxford and finally get the Book of Life. Fernando undertakes a separate, private mission, enlisting a reluctant Gallowglass to their cause. Gerbert explains his plan for the reconstitution of the Congregation to Baldwin. Matthew sees Benjamin again after hundreds of years, and father and son begin a fight to the death.

Episode 25 - Season 3, Episode 7Matthew is near death, being slowly tortured by Benjamin, while his family desperately tries to find where he’s being held. Diana makes plans to rescue him, but first she must face down Satu and vanquish Benjamin. While Matthew gradually recovers, Diana travels to Venice to take on the Congregation. Gerbert attempts to complete his long-term plan to remake the Congregation in his own image, but revelations from the Book of Life illuminate the long-hidden secrets of creatures.
