Season 12 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Carousel

Murder charges are filed as the families of Southfork are torn apart over the shooting of J.R. by his furious wife, Sue Ellen. Cliff finally comes face to face with Pam, as Bobby wrestles with his feelings about his ex-wife. Clayton settles in as half-owner of Southfork, and Carter McKay, a rancher from Colorado, looks into buying Ray Krebb's ranch.

  

Episode 2 - No Greater Love

Cliff Barnes, resolving to get out of the oil business, offers Barnes-Wentworth to Bobby and Ewing Oil. Clayton Farlow, immersed in the running of Southfork, also offers to sell his oil refineries to Bobby. J.R., plotting to regain custody of his son, defers to Clayton's authority and moves back into Southfork, and Sue Ellen and John Ross set up house far from the ranch.

  

Episode 3 - The Call of the Wild

Sue Ellen, despite securing custody of her son, John Ross, resigns to let him live at Southfork. While on a hunting trip with Bobby and their sons in a backwoods town, J.R. falls head over heels for the woman of his dreams -- one who will unfortunately lead him down a nightmarish path.

  

Episode 4 - Out of the Frying Pan

J.R.'s lust for the young country girl Cally Harper leads him into a dangerous situation that even his wiles, Ewing money, power, and clout can't get him out. At Miss Ellie's urging, Bobby offers a partnership in Ewing Oil to a very unlikely candidate while Sue Ellen finalizes her divorce from J.R. Meanwhile, the unscrupulous Casey Denault lures Lucy further into his web of revenge and Carter McKay and Clayton fret over the lack of water for their cattle.

  

Episode 5 - Road Work

While J.R. is imprisoned on a torturous chain gang, his long time nemesis, Cliff Barnes, joins Bobby as a new partner in Ewing Oil. Clayton suspects foul play when the river that runs across Southfork mysteriously dries up. Sue Ellen ponders the charms of the shrewd Jeremy Wendell in her quest for revenge against J.R. and a beautiful buy mysterious pool hustler piques Bobby's interest.

  

Episode 6 - War and Love and the Whole Damned Thing

A beaten and nearly broken J.R. marries the innocent Cally Harper in a desperate effort to escape the crazed clutches of her vengeful brothers. Ray Krebbs returns to find that the new owner of his ranch, Carter McKay, has provoked Southfork into a full-scale range war by diverting precious water to his land.

  

Episode 7 - Showdown At the Ewing Corral

Newlywed J.R. struggles to escape from the dreaded Harper farm, while Southfork prepares for war against the unrelenting Carter McKay and his henchmen. Mckay buys off the Ewing hired hands in his plot to take over the coveted ranch, Sue Ellen and Jeremy Wendell further their relationship, and Tracy reveals her secretive past to Bobby.

  

Episode 8 - Deception

Carter McKay reveals his true intentions to the Ewings. To avoid bloodshed in the impending range war, McKay offers to buy two sections of the sacred Southfork and J.R. hires his own special brand of mercenaries in preparation for the battle. Suspecting Casey Denault is a fraud, April secretly meets with Lucy, and Bobby meets with the man from Tracey's past.

  

Episode 9 - Counter Attack

The range war violently erupts as Bobby vows revenge after Christopher is caught in the brutal cross-fire. J.R., Bobby, Clayton, Ray, and their mercenaries mount forces to destroy McKay and his men and save Southfork. Cliff finds solace in a sympathetic soul, Bobby's old friend Tammy, and April puts the financial squeeze on Casey Denault.

  

Episode 10 - The Sting

Unaware that Jeremy Wendell is the force behind Carter McKay, Miss Ellie goes ahead with her decision to sell of the sacred Section 40 to McKay. In the aftermath of the bloody battle between Southfork and McKay, Sue Ellen sets out after J.R. for putting their son in danger. J.R., meanwhile, secretly goes into business with April Stevens and Bobby and Tracey reach a decision about their relationship.

  

Episode 11 - The Two Mrs. Ewings

There is a startling disclosure at the glamorous Oil Baron's Ball, Dallas' social event of the season. Cally Ewing, J.R.'s new bride, attempts to acclimate herself to the grandeur of Southfork, while he searches for a way to remove her from his life. Sue Ellen receives a visit from a long lost friend from Hollywood and Cliff ardently pursues his relationship with Tammy.

  

Episode 12 - The Switch

Determined to create a life for herself in Dallas and win over J.R., Cally turns to an unlikely source for advice -- Sue Ellen. Cliff suspects April is the culprit who is edging Ewing Oil out of lucrative deals and, despite her blossoming friendship with Bobby, Tracey accepts a job working for her father, Carter McKay, at Weststar.

  

Episode 13 - He-e-ere's Papa!

J.R.'s in hot water again when Nicholas Pearce's father, ex-mobster Joseph Lombardi, comes looking for the man who killed his son. J.R. confronts Sue Ellen about her ex-lover Pearce's mob connections and John Ross struggles with his parents' divorce and follows his father's lead in rejecting Cally.

  

Episode 14 - Comings and Goings

Sue Ellen launches into pre-production with writer Don Lockwood on the epic film that she hopes will finally bring ruin to the mighty J.R. Ewing. A lucrative deal for Bobby and Cliff is foiled when J.R. refuses to let Ewing Oil sell off important lands unless Bobby lets him back in to the oil business. Carter McKay's troubled son, Tommy, fresh out of a South American prison on a drug charge, arrives in Dallas and Cally searches for a way to make peace with John Ross.

  

Episode 15 - Country Girl

Against an ominous skyline of black storm clouds, Southfork prepares for another one of its all out, glamorous weddings. Cally shocks J.R. with information that will change his life forever and Sue Ellen bares her soul to Lockwood when she provides him with her personal diaries.

  

Episode 16 - Wedding Bell Blues

A tornado threatens the wedding ceremony while Carter McKay learns that his son Tommy hasn't fully recovered from his involvement with drugs, while Tommy sets his sights on the beautiful and wealthy April. Bobby's relationship with Tracey suffers when she shoulders the tension between her brother and father.

  

Episode 17 - The Way We Were

It's brotherly war when Bobby furiously confronts J.R. for ignoring their agreement to consult one another concerning business. Sue Ellen, drawing closer to Lockwood, searches for clues into his past while Tommy McKay pursues the drug trade in Dallas under the guise of entering the import/export business. J.R. becomes aware that Tommy not only has eyes for April but also hates his father -- Carter McKay.

  

Episode 18 - The Serpent's Tooth

J.R., hoping to get back into Ewing Oil, seeks information on Weststar's dealings while Sue Ellen keeps seeing Don Lockwood and Bobby and Tracey's relationship continues to take a downward turn.

  

Episode 19 - Three Hundred

The 300th episode marks an unusual show in which the feuding Ewing brothers, J.R. and Bobby, get trapped overnight in an elevator, with a defiant Bobby owning the only source of food or drink -- a precious case of expensive wine. The unique situation pits the pair against each other in a battle of wills and wits, not only sparring over how to run Ewing Oil, but how to run their respective lives as well.

  

Episode 20 - April Showers

The Ewing brothers are back in business together and set their sights on the biggest oil deal in history at the expense of Carter McKay and Weststar. April comes between Bobby and Tracey after she tries to convince Tracey that her brother is dangerous. Sue Ellen and Don Lockwood travel to a romantic Malibu beach to cast their film. Cally attempts to make herself more acceptable to Dallas standards and readily agrees to help J.R. with his business dealings.

  

Episode 21 - And Away We Go!

Bobby's love affair with Tracey is shattered when Carter McKay vows to avenge the thrashing his beloved son, Tommy, suffered at the hands of Bobby. Meanwhile, Sue Ellen feels insecure in her relationship with Lockwood after seeing her life story exposed on film and J.R. and Cally show an interested European oil investor a good time -- Texas style.

  

Episode 22 - Yellow Brick Road

Honeymooners J.R. and Cally, along with Bobby, mix pleasure with oil business in the spectacular old town of Salzburg, Austria, until Bobby is shocked by a surprise visitor. The Ewing brothers battle Carter McKay for a multi-billion dollar European oil contract, while Afton Cooper dismisses Cliff's interest in her personal life.

  

Episode 23 - The Sound of Money

The Ewings head off to Vienna in their battle for the coveted European oil contract. Bobby and April explore their blossoming relationship atop the famed Maria's Mountain in Salzburg. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Clayton still can't retain his memory.

  

Episode 24 - The Great Texas Waltz

In the romantic city of Vienna, Vanessa Beaumont, the only woman to ever break J.R. Ewing's heart, forces him to choose between her and his love for Cally. McKay suggests to April that she dissuade Bobby from pursuing the European oil contract while in Dallas, Cliff obsesses over finding out it if Afton's daughter is his own.

  

Episode 25 - Mission to Moscow

America's most infamous capitalis, J.R. Ewing, travels to Moscow, the mecca of Communism. At Vanessa's urging J.R. and Bobby flee Vienna for a crucial and mysterious meeting in Red Square. Meanwhile, back at the Ranch, Sue Ellen has second thoughts about her relationship with Don after a scene is filmed between the actors playing Sue Ellen and J.R. in her movie.

  

Episode 26 - Reel Life

Someone is attempting to frighten April as she continues to see Bobby while Sue Ellen gives Cally advice on how she will have to fight to make her marriage work. J.R. gets threatened by Sue Ellen about her movie being released if he ever crosses her again.
