Season 1 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Part 1: The Marriage

Smart, opinionated, ahead-of-her-time Olivia meets a rich, charming suitor who she thinks sees past her ugly-duckling exterior and will save her from a life of dull spinsterhood. But Malcolm Foxworth has an ulterior motive to this marriage, and once Olivia arrives at her new home, the brooding Foxworth Hall, the shiny new life of her dreams turns quickly into a nightmare.

Episode 2 - Part 2: The Mother

The poisoned tendrils of Olivia's bargain with Malcolm entangle the next generation of Foxworths. Oldest son Malcolm chafes under his father's stern authority, sensitive artist Joel explores love with the handsome African-American son of their housekeeper, and daughter Corinne, Malcom's favorite (and secretly the child of his rape of his stepmother,) comes of age and falls headfirst into love with the worst possible suitor (her own stepbrother.)

Episode 3 - Part 3: The Murderer

Corinne's incestuous affair with her uncle Christopher (who is actually her half-brother) is in full bloom, just as Joel's secret affair with the housekeeper's son is exposed. Olivia struggles to keep her family intact, but she's taken to her darkest place yet when she partners with Malcolm.

Episode 4 - Part 4: The Martyr

Secrets are exposed and the family has splinted. With nothing left to lose, Olivia enacts her final revenge on the villainous Malcolm. But even triumphing over Malcolm won't bring her family back, and Olivia turns to an old friend who leads her down a dark path that ultimately leads to the very place we started...the attic.
