Season 2 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - 49ers Foam Finger, $7

Connor invites the Hayworth clan to a San Francisco 49ers game as he tries to close his latest business deal. Desperately trying to prove that he knows the game, Tom gets a once-in-a-lifetime chance to showcase his football skills in front of the entire crowd of 49ers Faithful at Levi’s Stadium. Meanwhile, Denise tries to get Sarah to come to terms with Shamiah’s new interest in cheerleading.

  

Episode 2 - Chorizo with Mojo Verde and Chicharrón, $45

Things get hot in the kitchen when Tom considers ghostwriting a memoir for a celebrity chef. Connor starts dating a woke friend of Sarah and Denise’s who makes a surprising impact on him.

The family is in for a wild night out when they accompany Connor to a club to help him jumpstart his dating life. When Tom steps up as Connor’s wingman, things don’t exactly go as planned.

Marina worries Camila’s lost touch with her Mexican heritage, so she enlists the rest of the family to help her reconnect with her roots. Sarah interviews for a job at Gretchen’s school.

  

Episode 5 - Giant Jenga, $120

At Connor’s for game night, Tom realizes that Connor’s date is Jessica (Sarah Wright), a girl who broke his heart at the summer camp he and Sarah attended. Connor begs Tom not to ask Jessica why she abandoned him before the big camp dance. Jessica can barely remember Tom, but she does remember Sarah. Meanwhile, Denise and Marina decide to make game night more interesting and place a bet: The loser of game night will babysit for the winner. Soon, Tom cannot help himself and asks Jessica why she never met him for the dance. Sarah is forced to confess the truth — she and Jessica kissed that night. Sarah didn’t tell Tom at the time because she was still discovering her identity. The siblings heal their old wounds, but Connor realizes there is no future for him and Jessica since his siblings are around all the time.

  

Episode 6 - Box of King-Size Candy Bars, $48.99

The Hayworths all agree to dress as superheroes for Halloween, but they can’t decide whose neighborhood is best for trick-or-treating. Adding to the tension, both Connor and Tom want to dress as Iron Man. Ultimately, they decide to spend the holiday apart. Connor and Emily try to be the “chill” divorced couple who can have fun together, but as their Halloween night wears on, their different parenting styles cause too much friction. Sarah and Denise are excited to spend the night observing their usual Halloween traditions. But when both Shamiah and Kelvin abandon them to be with friends, they struggle to accept that their kids are getting older. While trick-or-treating, Tom and Marina meet a neighbor couple that shares all of their interests. It’s almost like they are the same people… which is actually pretty scary. In the end all the Hayworths realize that despite their differences, they can have more fun together than they can separately.

  

Episode 7 - Speeding Ticket, $180

A nervous Tom prepares for a work trip to Puerto Rico with celebrity chef Sofía Salazar. To Marina’s surprise, Tom enjoys himself on the trip because Sofía pushes him out of his comfort zone. After hearing about his adventures, Marina wishes she could spend time with this bolder version of Tom. He vows to plan a special night for her. Meanwhile, Denise and Sarah find out Shamiah confided in Connor about her first crush on a boy. They worry that Shamiah didn’t tell them because they’re gay. They try to demonstrate they understand straight relationships, but Shamiah confesses the only reason she didn’t share the details is because they are 'cringe.' Tom picks up Marina for a date in one of Connor’s sports cars. When Tom gets pulled over for speeding, his plans are ruined. In order to salvage the night, Tom proposes a bold (and painful) demonstration of his love.

  

Episode 8 - Two Thousand Pounds of Sand, $240

Because their mother Muriel has been depressed lately, the Hayworth siblings want to host a special Thanksgiving dinner. But Tom and Sarah are upset to discover that Connor hired a Caribbean caterer to throw a tropical-themed celebration. The siblings’ arguments cause the caterer to quit, and they’re left to prepare the meal themselves. They manage to succeed, but this only upsets Muriel more —she feels useless! Meanwhile, Denise has invited her estranged sister JoJo to dinner. Marina works to thaw relations between them, but the tension between them only escalates. Denise and JoJo have years of resentments to overcome. It takes a kitchen fire to bring everyone together and save the holiday.

  

Episode 9 - Secret Santa Gift, $25 Limit

Tom receives his first payment for writing Sofía Salazar’s book, and despite Marina’s objections he decides to use the money to repay Connor’s loan. Connor wants Tom to keep the money, which hurts Tom’s feelings and causes a rift. Marina tries to convince Connor to accept the money before his fight with Tom ruins the holiday spirit. Sarah receives an expensive designer bag as a Christmas gift from work. She and Denise decide to sell it, but the more Sarah wears it, the more she likes how people treat her. After Denise finds a buyer for the bag, Sarah resists letting it go. Connor and JoJo bond as they shop for the perfect Christmas present for Denise.

  

Episode 10 - Men's Water-Resistant Watch, $289

Marina helps Tom fact check Sofia’s book, and her investigation reveals Sofía lied about her background. When confronted, Sofía comes clean, but she refuses to tell the world. Tom and Marina lose sleep as they wrestle with their new secret knowledge. Meanwhile, Connor acts strangely as he covers up his relationship with JoJo. Denise thinks Connor is lonely after many attempts at dating. She sets him up on a surprise blind date with Kelvin’s doctor, Elizabeth. Connor and Elizabeth have a lot in common, and JoJo gets jealous. She and Connor has to admit they have real feelings for each other.

  

Episode 11 - Camping Tent, $39.99

After discovering that Connor and JoJo are dating, Tom and Marina tell Connor to come clean to Denise. When Connor hesitates, Tom tries to help by floating the idea to Denise. Unfortunately, she says their relationship would be a disaster. Haunted by Denise’s words, Connor accidentally drives away JoJo. Once the truth comes out, Tom and Denise feel responsible for the breakup and work to bring Connor and JoJo back together. Meanwhile, Sarah and Marina host a Condor Girls indoor camping night to teach their kids about sisterhood and female empowerment. But once Marina learns that Sarah didn’t like her when they first met, their night of sisterhood turns into a night of brutal honesty.

  

Episode 12 - Round Trip Ticket SAN-OAK, $234

As Tom and Marina struggle to balance parenting with their demanding careers, Marina’s father, Roberto, visits. He’s always been cold to Tom and reserved with Marina. But he surprises everyone by transforming from a quiet grump into a warm and playful grandpa. After Roberto and Marina argue, Tom must convince him he still has time to repair his relationship with his daughter. Meanwhile, Connor determines that Sarah and Denise can’t afford to move to a bigger apartment, but he teaches them his ruthless decluttering method to help them make more space.

  

Episode 13 - Pregnancy Test, $12.98

It’s the first Valentine’s Day for new couple Connor and JoJo. She wants to do something simple and inexpensive, but Connor has already booked a reservation at the most exclusive restaurant in town. Connor lets the married couples take his reservation, and Sarah promises not to mock the luxurious experience. At the restaurant, Marina and Denise hide a secret from Tom — Marina suspects she’s pregnant. To save the night, both Tom and Sarah must reveal their romantic side. Meanwhile at Connor’s, Emily and Gretchen crash Connor and JoJo’s intimate evening, which prompts some awkward revelations.

  

Episode 14 - Salsa Competition Entry Fee, $45

As Denise excitedly imagines their life with a new baby, Sarah struggles to admit she is having doubts. She confides in Tom, who’s worried about his upcoming vasectomy. After his surgery, a highly-medicated Tom rambles to Denise and accidentally causes a rift between her and Sarah. Meanwhile, Marina makes Connor feel guilty for not knowing more about Lupe and her life. But his attempts to bond with Lupe backfire at first. Lupe reveals that her boyfriend has left her, right before their upcoming salsa dance competition. Marina convinces Connor to step in as Lupe’s new salsa partner, and the whole family tries to help them win.

  

Episode 15 - FaceFlop App, $1.99

Former theater kid Sarah, whose Broadway dreams were cut short by her critical stage mom, recruits the family to help her pull off an elaborate fundraiser. She aims to convince her boss Allison to give her a shot as director of Windmount’s spring musical. But there’s stiff competition for the job. Denise raises the idea of using one of Sarah’s brothers as a sperm donor, which causes Tom and Connor to compete over who has the better genes. Denise and Marina are afraid to discuss the sperm donation idea honestly, so they each pretend to be excited about it. Marshall and Muriel put everyone even more on edge, to the point of ruining the event.

  

Episode 16 - Keg of Light Beer, $180

Seeking peace and quiet, Tom works on his novel at a local college’s library. After a college kid mistakes Tom for a student, Tom and Marina end up in a rowdy dorm party. They enjoy the chance to act young and escape the cares of adulthood until they’re exposed and embarrassed. Thankfully, they end the night with a new babysitter and a tempting job offer. Meanwhile, JoJo has been cast on a reality show called “Influencer Lagoon,” and she’s torn between her relationship with Connor and her career dreams. Denise decides to help her sister follow her heart. Sarah encourages Gretchen to audition for the Windmount musical. But once she learns that Gretchen can’t sing, Sarah must find a creative way to include her without abusing her power as director.

  

Episode 17 - Workout Leggings, $29

Facing a deadline, Sarah grudgingly asks Tom to help her write the Windmount Academy musical. But Sarah and Tom’s collaboration dredges up old slights and threatens to ruin the project. Meanwhile, Denise needs to get in shape in order to prepare for getting pregnant. Since a trainer is too expensive, Connor offers to train her and Marina in his home gym. But Connor grows too attached to Denise and Marina, and he invades their “Normals” time where they decompress from all the Hayworth family drama.

  

Episode 18 - Poker Game, $800 Buy-In

Seeing how much Connor misses JoJo, Tom and Sarah visit to cheer him up. But they discover that he’s hosting a poker night with some high-roller friends, including billionaire Mark Cuban. Connor allows them to stay, but they end up ruining his post-breakup guys’ night. Meanwhile, Marina and Denise enjoy pizza and house-remodeling shows until Camila says she heard a ghost. Marina doesn’t think ghosts exist, but Denise proposes a smudging ceremony to help both the spirit and Camila. A reluctant Marina agrees, and they discover that the attic contains something even more frightening than a ghost.

  

Episode 19 - Animatronic Gorilla, $2,200

Tom tells his family that he doesn’t want a 40th birthday party because he’s struggling to finish his book. Connor and Sarah know the real reason: It’s because Connor pantsed Tom at his 11th birthday party at ShowBuzz PizzaTown, and Tom has never gotten over it. After all these years, Connor is determined to to make things right. Tom’s father Marshall decides to take Tom’s writing seminar and steals the attention from his son. Marina takes racy photos as gift for Tom, then worries they’re in Marshall’s possession. Meanwhile, Sarah and Denise work hard to impress Simon, a personal trainer who would make an ideal sperm donor.

  

Episode 20 - Mango Thc Gummies, $18

The whole family goes to see Sarah’s musical about “She-roes: Groundbreaking Women” at Windmount Academy. Tom’s anxiety about his book prompts Marina to take THC gummies in order to relax. Unfortunately, Marina’s boss is also at the show, and Tom must help Marina avoid a conversation with him. Connor makes a surprising connection with Sarah’s boss over the difficulties of maintaining a relationship. Meanwhile, Sarah and Denise try to keep the show afloat after all the kids in the cast get stage fright.

  

Episode 21 - Book Deal, Terms Negotiable

Tom is excited when a famous and eccentric publisher, Monroe Phipps, wants to buy Tom’s book. But to Tom’s surprise, Monroe crashes the family brunch. Tom must make sure no one says anything to ruin his possible deal. Unfortunately, the rest of the family is arguing over Connor’s new relationship with Sarah’s boss, Vice Principal Lauren. Rather than help settle the dispute, Denise decides she’s tired of playing the peacemaker. Ultimately, the family must get over their differences and help Tom decide what to do about Monroe’s offer.

  

Episode 22 - Ticket to Space, $1 Million

Connor is so upset about his failed relationships over the past year that he announces he’s going to space. Tom invites Connor to sit and talk on the roof like they used to do when they were kids. But after Tom learns that his book won’t be published, he falls partway through the roof and gets stuck. Meanwhile, Marina prepares a big surprise for Tom — she has turned the attic into a writing space — and in the process discovers her true passion. Sarah and Denise must change their pregnancy plans after some unexpected news.
