Episode 1 - Knaresborough Castle Bowling Green

Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell are back with a brand new series of Landscape Artist of the Year. Travelling the country in search of the most stunning views and the most inspiring artists to paint them. In this first heat 8 new artists are charged with painting Knaresborough Castle in Yorkshire.

  

Episode 2 - South Gare Steelworks

Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell are back with a brand new series of Landscape Artist of the Year. Travelling the country in search of the most stunning views and the most inspiring artists to paint them. In this second heat 8 new artists are on the South Gare in Teesside tackling an industrial landscape of epic proportions in a bid to impress the judges.

  

Episode 3 - Rhossili Beach

Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell are back with a brand new series of Landscape Artist of the Year. Travelling the country in search of the most stunning views and the most inspiring artists to paint them. In this third heat 8 new artists are perched up high on Wale's Gower Peninsula, tasked with painting the view of the famous Rhossili Bay.

  

Episode 4 - Knaresborough Viaduct

In this fourth heat 8 new artists are in North Yorkshire overlooking Knaresborough's Victorian viaduct, and they're using everything from ink pens to a Russian material called 'sauce' to give this picturesque scene enough of an edge to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano.

  

Episode 5 - Paddy's Hole

In this fifth heat at Paddy's Hole the powerful North Sea winds force our 8 new artists indoors. Protected from the elements, and determined to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano, they're using everything from locally-scavenged collage materials to bleach spray to conjure the atmosphere of this weather-beaten fishing harbor.

  

Episode 6 - Worm's Head

In this sixth heat in the Gower Peninsular, before our 8 new artists can even begin painting the view of Worm's Head, they must battle against the lashing rain just to get a glimpse of it. But will their oils, watercolors or graphite powder do justice to this challenging environment?

  

Episode 7 - Semi-FinalCastle Farm Lavender Farm

This week Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell are in the Garden of England for the Semi Final of Landscape Artist of the Year. Our 7 artists -6 semi-finalists and the winner of the Wildcard competition -have a glorious view across the Kentish lavender fields, and with a heady mix of sunshine, vibrant hues and heavenly scent, there's stimulation for all the senses.

  

Episode 8 - Winkworth Arboretum

This week Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell are at Winkworth Arboretum in Surrey for the Final of Landscape Artist of the Year. Over the past 7 weeks artists from around the UK and Ireland have battled the elements and each other in a bid for just 3 places at the Final.

  

Episode 9 - Winner's Film

Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell are at the Theatre Royal in London's Drury Lane for a very special unveiling by the winner of Landscape Artist of the Year 2017.
