Episode 1 - Huge Weekend for the Paradise FamilyPauline retires from her job as a lollipop lady but only teacher Peter Bachman seems to miss her. Her selfish, lazy husband Ken is as negative as ever, whilst Kevin is obsessed with his daughter's christening and his pub quiz team. Heather, when not preparing for her flamenco contest, is more concerned with getting pregnant and Martin and his wife Michelle are over-run with offspring.

Episode 2 - Alarm!Rowan gives Pauline a make-over and persuades her to live for herself. Oafish Kevin believes that he can reconcile his parents at his son's birthday party but Pauline is aware that Ken is too selfish to make his own attempt to win her back. Heather is single-minded in her desire to win the flamenco contest with partner Ashley but feels insecure when her rival Louise takes a shine to Charlie.

Episode 3 - Secrets & LiesStrapped for cash to send Nathan to France Kevin steals money from a house where a woman has died but it is discovered, losing his job and the respect of Sarah and his children. Rowan's grand-daughter Scarlett, anxious to track down the mother who abandoned her as a child, is optimistic when she finds a note from her at Frank's grave whilst Heather finds she is pregnant at last.

Episode 4 - The Elephant in the RoomScarlett tracks down her mother. Sarah is angry with her foolish husband as he puts organizing a family barbecue above job-hunting. At the event, Peter arrives and patches things up with Pauline whilst Martin announces that he is to be a house husband. Heather realizes that Ashley is her baby's father.

Episode 5 - Who's the Boss?As Michelle returns to work Martin finds it hard juggling his house husband duties with his writing aspirations but makes a friend in young nanny Alice, who makes him long for his single, student days. Kevin is saved from total unemployment when Sarah speaks up for him at his disciplinary tribunal. Pressurized by their sons Pauline and Ken attend marriage guidance.

Episode 6 - The Empty NestKen shocks the family by advertising for a girlfriend on the Internet and putting his and Pauline's belongings into a tabletop sale, requiring drastic action by his sons to retrieve it. His children and their spouses make another, last-ditch effort to reconcile their parents. Scarlett has a successful university entrance interview and Heather confides in her sisters-in-law.
