Episode 1 - The Wayfaring Stranger

Rayna and Deacon face a new normal with Maddie now back home and Highway 65 struggling financially. The shocking news about Juliette creates a wave of emotions throughout Nashville and sets Rayna off on a journey of discovery.

  

Episode 2 - Back in Baby's Arms

Rayna approaches Deacon about making a concept album together. Scarlett can't bring herself to trust in Gunnar after all that's happened. Juliette seeks out her guardian angel.

  

Episode 3 - Let’s Put It Back Together Again

Maddie takes an internship at a recording studio and meets a street musician. Avery struggles producing Ashley Willerman, a young YouTube singing sensation. Juliette meets her guardian angel and wants to thank her with an extravagant gift. Deacon confronts Maddie about her attitude toward the internship.

  

Episode 4 - Leap of Faith

Rayna receives a stunning and generous offer from tech guru Zach Welles regarding Highway 65, but Rayna wonders if it’s too good to be true. Meanwhile, she and Bucky struggle to find the perfect director for the music video that will launch the Exes’ new single. Juliette seeks treatment that is more advanced than her physical therapist recommends. Juliette considers that she might need healing of a more spiritual nature. Will and Kevin look for an apartment together.

  

Episode 5 - Love Hurts

The Exes shoot their video. Scarlett and the director, Damien George, fight as he pushes Scarlett to limits she’s not comfortable with. Clay and Maddie grow closer as he shows Maddie a different part of town. Carl Hockney approaches Rayna at Highway 65.

  

Episode 6 - A Little Bit Stronger

Rayna and Deacon beef up their home security after Rayna’s encounter with Carl Hockney. Zach Welles makes his first major recommendation to Highway 65, and it involves Luke Wheeler. Juliette draws closer to her guardian angel Hallie and finds herself welcomed by Hallie’s church community. Avery leaps back into performing with his new band. Maddie and Clay’s relationship hits some roadblocks while Daphne starts getting some attention from a boy at school. Scarlett sees footage of the video.

  

Episode 7 - Hurricane

Rayna and Deacon struggle to find common creative ground as they begin to write their album. Maddie and Daphne create a disturbance at home. Damien apologizes to Scarlett and reveals his feelings for her. Scarlett and Gunnar question their relationship.

  

Episode 8 - Stand Beside Me

Rayna and Deacon take extra precautions as Carl Hockney tests the limits of the restraining order, but Maddie finds their measures too stifling. Juliette appeals to the members of Hallie’s church choir to work with her on a gospel album, but some choir members question Juliette’s motives. In spite of herself, Scarlett finds herself drawn to Damien. Daphne grows up.

  

Episode 9 - If Tomorrow Never Comes

After her life-changing experience, Rayna scrambles to write one more song for the concept album with Deacon. Juliette’s leg starts to hurt inexplicably. Gunnar fights for Scarlett.

  

Episode 10 - I’ll Fly Away

A legal dispute threatens to break apart the family. Juliette demands to perform at the CMT Music Awards. Will and Zach are drawn closer together. Maddie and Clay question their relationship.

  

Episode 11 - Fire and Rain

Juliette helps Maddie navigate the wave of attention she receives after her performance at the CMT Music Awards. Zach demands the masters from Rayna and Deacon’s unfinished album. Scarlett has second thoughts about going back on tour with Gunnar.

  

Episode 12 - Back in the Saddle Again

Deacon strives to help Daphne pass her history class, but Daphne feels unmotivated. Juliette gives Maddie unsolicited advice about a song. Scarlett and Gunnar return from their tour and receive some big news. Zach continues to exert his will on Highway 65.

  

Episode 13 - 'Till I Can Make It On My Own

Juliette experiences anxiety about her upcoming first major performance after the plane crash. Bucky clashes with Zach over Highway 65. Daphne helps her new friend.

  

Episode 14 - (Now and Then There’s) A Fool Such As I

As Maddie’s career is preparing for take-off, she and Clay get pulled over by a police officer, striking Maddie with some bad publicity. Juliette searches for the perfect song to re-launch her career. Damien George returns to Nashville with grand ideas for Scarlett; Gunnar is not very excited about it.

  

Episode 15 - A Change Would Do You Good

Juliette keeps a secret from Maddie as Maddie deals with the fallout from the video of her and the police officer. Deacon and Avery are smitten with Hallie’s special sound. Zach continues to exert his influence on Highway 65, complicating his relationship with Will.

  

Episode 16 - Not Ready To Make Nice

Juliette spars with Avery over Hallie’s sound. Maddie discovers the truth about the origins of the bullying on social media. Deacon faces complex challenges as a father and as the head of Highway 65. Scarlett’s pregnancy garners her some unexpected attention.

  

Episode 17 - Ghost In This House

Against the advice of Highway 65’s PR expert, Scarlett confronts the journalist Mackenzie Rhodes face-to-face. Will shoots a big-time commercial. Deacon feels pressure from the outside to move on from Rayna.

  

Episode 18 - The Night Before (Life Goes On)

Juliette continues to be plagued by her injuries from the plane crash while Avery heads out on tour with his band and gets a taste of independence. Deacon plays a benefit for one of Rayna’s favorite charities. Scarlett and Gunnar shoot a national commercial. Daphne goes to a party with a boy from school.

  

Episode 19 - You Can't Lose Me

As Juliette’s single becomes a bona fide hit, Juliette takes great pains to keep Maddie from learning the truth. Deacon considers a new artist for Highway 65. Scarlett’s pregnancy faces complications. Gunnar searches for the mugger.

  

Episode 20 - Speed Trap Town

Gunnar, in need of a break, joins Avery on his tour. While the tour is in Texas, Gunnar visits his hometown and faces the ghosts of his past. Maddie and Juliette’s feud intensifies when they both get nominated for the same American Music Award. Deacon helps Jessie record a song. Scarlett takes a self-defense class.

  

Episode 21 - Farther On

Juliette shoots a mascara commercial but takes issue with the commercial’s direction. Deacon gets invited to play the Opry, but stress at home and work causes him to hesitate. Avery and Gunnar continue to enjoy life on the road together.

  

Episode 22 - Reasons To Quit

With Deacon and the artists of Highway 65 taking a stand, Zach sends a threatening message. Maddie and Juliette’s conflict comes to a head as the American Music Awards loom. Daphne goes to a pool party and meets Jessie’s son. Gunnar talks to Scarlett for the first time since his period of soul searching on the road.
