Season 1 Episode Guide
Episode 1 - A Glimpse of the SonShade's position as oft-teased runt causes him to take a major risk, breaking an ancient law that forbids bats from flying in the daylight. As a result of Shade daring to see the sun, the owls anger is roused, and they burn down the bat's roost, forcing the colony to embark on a premature migration.

Episode 2 - No Bat Is an IslandShade meets up with fellow outcast, Marina Brightwing, after becoming separated from the Silverwing colony during a storm. The two decide to try to meet up with the Silverwing colony together. Meanwhile, captured in the jungle of their South American homeland, two vampire bats, Goth and Throbb, awake in a human laboratory. Clever and resourceful, Goth quickly hatches a plan to escape through the ceiling vent.

Episode 3 - Pigeon CourtGoth and Throbb celebrate their escape, by dining on pigeon, before making their way south. When Shade and Marina enter the city, they are captured and interrogated by pigeons seeking vengeance over the death of one of their own at the jaws of a bat.

Episode 4 - Bat in the BelfryShade and Marina meet Zephyr, a mystical Albino bat who serves as an oracle to the bat world, and gives Shade and Marina a hint of a great "prophecy". Lost in a strange land, Goth decides they need a guide for the unfamiliar skies, and meets up with Shade and Marina, saving the two young bats from an owl attack.

Episode 5 - Dark AllianceMistaking Goth for a friend, Shade discloses the sound map containing the path to his colony's new roost, to Goth. Shade soon realizes the evil ways of his friends, however, when he comes across Throbb eating a Brightwing. Together, Shade and Marina plot their escape.

Episode 6 - Friends in DeedShade is sickened that he has given Goth his colony's soundmap. Now, he and Marina race to the "Fire Tower" to save the Silverwing colony, and face battle with Goth and Throbb. Along the way, Shade and Marina make an unlikely ally in Orestes, the owl.

Episode 7 - Not Black and WhiteLearning of the war the beasts have declared on bats, Shade and Marina confront Ursa the bear, leader of the beasts, to try to convince her of the bats' innocence. Goth, thought dead after the battle at the Fire Tower, rises and vows to extract his vengeance on Shade.

Episode 8 - DeceptionShade and Marina are re-captured by Goth and Throbb. Under the guidance of Goth, however, it appears Shade seems to have moved over to the dark side, much to Marina's distress. Meanwhile, the colony arrives at Stonehold, but the males are already gone.

Episode 9 - I'm With the BandShade and Marina take refuge in a cabin populated by banded bats. Marina thinks she has found a home and community, while Shade is worried Marina is being recruited by a cult. Meanwhile, Goth and Throbb continue their journey south, but the cold is starting to have an effect. The only visible relief is a cabin in the distance.

Episode 10 - RatsWhile hiding from Goth and Throbb in the city's sewers, Shade and Marina encounter the weird world of the rats, where with the help of Orestes, they endeavor to restore the true Rat King to the throne. Elsewhere in the city, Throbb and Goth battle the owls, as they search for Shade and Marina.

Episode 11 - Strange BedfellowsA chase gone awry results in Shade and Goth being trapped in an abandoned mine. Meanwhile, with the help of Orestes, Marina outsmarts Throbb as they try to reach their trapped comrade. Elsewhere, Bathsheba sneaks away from the colony to have a secret meeting with Brutus, head of the owls.

Episode 12 - HibernaculumShade, Marina and Orestes reach Hibernaculum and reunite with the Silverwing colony, where Shade warns them of the vampire bats and the war with the beasts. Bathsheba cuts a deal with Brutus, to give up Shade if the bats agree to ally with the owls and arrest Frieda. Goth and Throbb form an alliance with the wolves.

Episode 13 - Day of JudgementShade defends himself in the makeshift court the owls have set-up, but Brutus declares Shade guilty and sentences Shade, Marina and Frieda to death. Before the sentence can be carried out, however, Goth, Throbb and the wolves attack.
