Episode 1 - Episode 1Angela hides her heavily pregnant cat in her desk drawer – she’s brought her to work in case she goes into labour. Meanwhile, Trish is dealing with fertility problems of her own – she thinks the menopause has come early. Natalie points out there could be another cause, and buys her a pregnancy test. But Trish is too scared to do it; she’s not cut out to be a mother.

Episode 2 - Episode 2Natalie stumbles upon Trish trying to find sperm donors online - Trish confesses she is trying to get pregnant but is worried about it being from a total stranger. She then realises she knows Karl better than anyone and takes him to the pub for lunch, where she gently asks him for a favour...

Episode 3 - Episode 3Karl tries to prove to Natalie he can be more dynamic, but his tough-guy experiment backfires when a desperate jobseeker takes Trish hostage, and a crippling bout of vertigo stops him in his tracks.

Episode 4 - Episode 4Relations between management and the workforce break down over health and safety, and plans for the Christmas party. Goaded by Angela, Karl becomes ringleader and calls a strike. Things get worse when he gets drunk and starts blabbing to an attractive female journalist about what he and Natalie have got up to in the job centre.

Episode 5 - Episode 5Karl and Natalie are apart for the first time, and Trish falls for a fellow manager.

Episode 6 - Episode 6It's Brownall's 25th birthday and former boss of the centre Maggie Higgins is invited to lead the celebrations. Unfortunately she comes armed with some devastating information about Angela - and Angela will stop at absolutely nothing to shut her up. Meanwhile Raul, Trish's holiday romance, makes the trip over from Spain with marriage on his mind.
