Season 1 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Oceans 8... Or 9

This week’s bank heist challenge starts with the teams having to blow a safe and rescue either Owen or Leshawna from within, along with some bank robbing tools. The Grips, realizing how starving Owen is after finally getting his jaw unwired, get him to break out by piping in some delicious food smells – but his single-minded desire to find something to eat after ages with only shakes may ultimately be a handicap.

Episode 1 - Monster Cash

They're back! Fourteen of our season one competitors have returned for the chance to win... One. Million. Dollars. That's right. Someone is going to win some monster cash! But it isn't going to be easy. Duncan, Heather, Gwen, Harold, Leshawna, Lindsay, Beth, Bridgette, Geoff, Justin, DJ, Trent, Izzy and Owen are unceremoniously dumped at the gates of a dilapidated studio film lot - where they’ll be spending the next six weeks. Totally unaware of what's in store for them, Chris announces that this season's challenges will be based on different movie genres. Today’s genre? The terrified cast scatter as an enormous remote-controlled animatronic monster rears its head. The monster movie! Fortunately, everyone makes it through the day in one piece, and no one is sent home - yet. Welcome to Total. Drama. Action!

Episode 2 - Alien Resurr-eggtion

Fourteen cast mates embark on an epic search for alien eggs in our alien movie-themed challenge, while Chef, a.k.a. Mama Alien, tracks their every move. More interested in macking than hiding, Bridgette and Geoff are soon caught out, while a bald Heather loses her precious wig forever. In the melee, Izzy reveals herself to be a leader (she knows all about aliens - she's been abducted several times!), but in the end, it's Gwen, Duncan, DJ and Trent who find the alien eggs in the boiler room. After fending off the military, a.k.a. Chris in a helicopter, Gwen and Trent make it back to home base with the all important alien egg intact. Gwen and Trent get to pick their teams this season – which means they'll be competing against each other! Neither saw that one coming.

Episode 2 - Million Bucks BC

Ooga Ooga. Dig up the hatchets everyone because Courtney is back! She’s arrived with her PDA in hand and her own set of game rules – which thanks to her little lawsuit, includes gourmet meals, 700-thread count sheets, and her own private bathroom. Unfortunately for Courtney, it’s caveman movie week, which means – it’s fur loincloths for everyone! Not to mention, a black, natty cavewoman wig for Heather.

Episode 3 - Riot On Set

After winning last week's challenge, cute couple Gwen and Trent find themselves with a rather doubtful 'reward' – they’re forced to pick teams and compete against each other! Tensions begin to dial up to high after Gwen picks the uber-cool Duncan first for her team, which leaves a jealous Trent steamed enough to declare 'the beautiful Lindsay' as his first team mate. Things remain super-tense as the teams learn the realities of the distinctly un-glamorous life of a film crew. They have to haul huge piles of gargantuan, seriously heavy equipment up a huge hill – and then endure hours of exacting shooting, working on what may be the world's weirdest dramatic scenes.

Episode 3 - Million Dollar Babies

Cue the marching band and prepare to cut the finish ribbon – because its sports movie day on Total Drama Action. Every sports cliché in the book gets a good workout, along with the eight remaining cast members, as pairs of contestants duke it out through boxing, badminton, wrestling and slam dunk challenges. But the lowest blow of all is struck when Beth ‘borrows’ Courtney’s PDA and finds an online link to the TDA website. And it happens to feature all of the nasty things Leshawna said about them when she lied to go on the spa getaway with her cousin!

Episode 4 - Dial M for Merger

The seven remaining cast mates embark on this week’s spy-movie themed challenge as the teams are merged. It’s every girl and boy for themselves! No one can believe it! After all they’ve been through together. The cast mates must first brave a laser grid that cut’ll them clear in half, while retrieving items from a glass case, they’ll need to diffuse stink bombs that’ll make Owen’s farts smell like roses. It’s Courtney who uses her impressive moves, not only get to the laser-protected case, but to smash it open with one impressive roundhouse. Much to Duncan’s thinly veiled admiration!

Episode 4 - Beach Blanket Bogus

Trent and Gwen have made up after last week's challenge – at least initially, as the teams learn that this week's movie genre is the classic Teen Beach Flick. The first challenge Chris throws at them all is riding a mechanical surfboard in front of a green screen. Which could be fun, except they have to do it 'Total Drama Style' and perform in a tank of sharks, which is stationed in a freezing cold studio, while Chris and Chef lob seagulls and other hazards at them.

Episode 5 - Super Hero-Id

There’s nothing scarier than waking up to the sound of someone screaming in terror. Unless it turns out to be Chef Hatchet screaming in terror – while wearing a nightgown! Chris swings in on a rope to rescue Chef and announces that today is a day to be brave. Today is a day to be fearless. Today is a day to wear brightly hued skintight spandex! Total Drama Action is paying homage to the superhero flick!

Episode 5 - 3:10 to Crazytown

During an epic heat wave, the cast are thrust into a Western movie-themed challenge against their will. As if diving off a platform seventy feet in the air onto a geriatric horse isn't bad enough, Harold must fend off Duncan's bullying, and Leshawna must fend off a killer afro in all this humidity. When a quick-draw cowboy showdown gets thwarted by Owen, Chris dreams up another humiliating challenge to torment the cast – calf-roping!

Episode 6 - Aftermath: O-Wen

Geoff and Bridgette welcome us to another spectacularly juicy, behind-the-scenes episode of the Total Drama Action Aftermath show! Gossip lives here! As usual, Geoff and Bridgette are joined by season one’s ousted competitors, viewer webcams and three long-awaited guests – Heather, Leshawna, and Owen. Of course, Izzy is thrilled to be reunited with Owen, and Owen is thrilled to be reunited with craft services!

Episode 6 - The Aftermath: 1

Geoff and Bridgette, our first two cast members ousted from this season's competition, welcome us to the totally off-the-hook Total Drama Action Aftermath show! A live after-show, where they'll be dishing the dirt on everything to do with, that's right – Total Drama Action. Not only are they joined by season one's former competitors, they've also got two very special guests. Izzy and Trent, the last two cast members to lose out on the million bucks, are back to dish the drama and fill us in on what we didn't get to see on the show.

Episode 7 - Princess Pride

When Chris shows up with a glass combat boot, the contestants know it’s time to bust open the conventions of a fairy tale movie. A determined Courtney crams the tiny boot on and is declared the princess as Lindsay, Beth, Harold, Duncan and Justin compete to rescue her. But Justin’s got a new incentive.

Episode 7 - The Chefshank Redemption

A rude awakening finds all the guys and girls locked in their trailers as prep for today’s 'Prison Movie Showdown.' A gut-wrenching prison food challenge follows, with Gwen and Lindsay chosen to be the poor inmates who must eat the opposing team's disgusting chow and try not to toss their cookies! To keep her deal with the other team, Gwen is supposed to puke first and lose – but her iron stomach is no match for Lindsay's trigger-happy gag reflex and she unwittingly wins. Through the escape race and dig-a-thon to freedom that follows, Justin, Lindsay and Beth continue to remind her that she should be trying to lose!

Episode 8 - One Flu Over the Cuckoos

The 'campers' are thrown into med-school and forced to cram all night for the medical drama to follow. The challenge finds teams answering hilarious questions about obscure (and even imaginary) medical conditions as they race to assemble giant cadavers – without getting electrocuted! But the challenge is seemingly cut short when Owen, DJ – and most of the other cast – come down with one of the fatal diseases they've just been studying! Only Leshawna and Duncan are spared – and smart enough to find out that the whole thing is a hypochondriac's dream, a ruse dreamed up by Chris and made realistic with the aid of itching powder and laxatives… Their discovery gives them the win!

Episode 8 - Get a Clue

And then there were five… The gloves are off and the magnifying glasses are out, as Chris declares this week the mystery movie challenge. After deciphering the clues to find Chris, the cast mates have to come up with sneaky ways to get DNA evidence (fingerprints and a hair sample) from each other. Chris collects their evidence and they all board the Midnight Express train out of the Total Drama studio – but it isn’t long before our host is found ‘murdered’ on the floor of the train car!

Episode 9 - Rock 'N Rule

Strap on those air guitars! ‘Cause this is the week to rock ‘n roll! But first the five remaining cast members learn they are soon to be six, when Chris announces that someone is being brought back to the show. He’s big, he’s cuddly – he’s OWEN! Unfortunately for poor Owen (and unbeknownst to anyone else), he’s been brought back to stir up the doo-doo and mess around with his cast mates. If only he weren’t so darned happy to see them all!

Episode 9 - The Sand Witch Project

When Chris dramatically drops in on the cast, complete with fake blood spatters, everyone realizes that it's time for the horror movie challenge. It was only a matter of time! The Gaffers want Duncan to be their 'serial killer' – natch! – until Chef steps in and insists that DJ do it. What the surprised cast doesn't know is that Chef has been busy bringing out DJ's killer instinct, in the hopes that they will split the big pot o' moola.

Episode 10 - Master of Disaster

The cast miss DJ's delicious cooking as they are tempted to lose their disgusting lunch on this week's disaster movie-themed challenges. On the 'Earthquake of Inevitable Pain,' the Grips and Gaffers are pelted with everything from Chef's unwanted stuff, to hail-sized golf balls and finally, tomato soup masquerading as lava. Beth says that her boyfriend back home, Brady, has a solution for every dilemma, but none of the Grips are buying what she's selling. Especially when Beth shows them the Sears-type photo in a frame!

Episode 10 - Crouching Courtney, Hidden Owen

GONG! It’s the girls (Beth and Courtney) versus the boys (Harold and Duncan) as Chris declares this episode’s kung fu challenge. With a wink, our host decrees Owen to be banished from today’s competition for an imaginary rules infraction – leaving Owen free to stir up the doo-doo! The teams train for a kung fu battle in robotic suits controlled by their teammates. It’s the boys who win, and the girls get sentenced to KP duty – which is fine with Courtney as she wants some time to work on getting Beth into a ‘girl alliance’ with her.

Episode 11 - 2008: A Space Owen

The five remaining cast mates embark on a challenge that’s ‘out of this world’, in this week’s outer space extravaganza. The cast mates must hold onto their chili lunches, as they experience firsthand the challenges of zero gravity. Owen is out to sabotage the cast mates (as per his agreement with Chris and the producers) and almost puts them all in grave danger. It’s only thanks to the quick thinking of Beth and Courtney (in their new ‘girl alliance’) that everyone is able to escape with their dignity intact. Well, everyone except Owen. And Chef.

Episode 11 - Full Metal Drama

The Screaming Gaffers are falling apart at the seams, with the ongoing strife between Harold and Duncan only escalating by the day – and everyone annoyed with Leshawna after discovering lying. So when a war movie challenge is announced, they're not the most cohesive platoon in the world. Meanwhile, Justin is disturbed to find that he's lost his mojo with the ladies and can no longer get the girls to do his bidding – and Owen finds that wingy Izzy might not be able to keep up her end of a 'relationship.'

Episode 12 - Top Dog

Four remaining cast mates embark on this week’s animal/buddy flick, forced to bond with creatures of the fur and feather variety. The cast try to train their animal buddies to be just like them, until the animals prove that their intelligence is vastly superior. In the end, it’s Beth who is most like her animal. In her defense, raccoons ARE really smart!

Episode 12 - The Aftermath

Geoff and Bridgette welcome us to another super juicy episode of the Total Drama Action Aftermath show! Once again, they're joined by season one's ousted competitors, viewer webcams, as well as two special guests – DJ and Gwen. Not to mention DJ's momma! With a remorseful DJ back to make up for his illegal alliance with Chef, and Gwen ready to make amends for what she did to Trent, it seems almost everyone has something to apologize for – with the exception of Geoff. Sporting a new coif and ridiculously bleached teeth, Geoff is thoroughly unapologetic for his new superstar image, and self-indulgent attitude.

Episode 13 - Mutiny On the Soundstage

It’s down to Beth and Duncan, as the competition accelerates into the final episodes… A pirate-themed challenge finds the two of them racing through a series of ship-board obstacles before being launched out of a canon – and right back to the first set of the season. Duncan’s inability to answer trivia questions about his cast mates means he loses opportunities at a time advantage, and he’s stuck redoing some of the nastiest challenges of the season – with new, terrible elements added!

Episode 14 - The Aftermath, Pt. 4

Beth and Duncan are on pins and needles as they’re forced to sit through an aftermath show – including grilling from their cast-off team mates about some of the questionable choices they made in the game. An impromptu tie-breaker is finally arranged - a contest designed by Justin, Lindsay, Harold and Courtney. But the tiebreaker doesn’t work either, and the two find that the million dollar winner is going to be determined in another way…
