Rick Jason (Actor) .. Lt. Hanley
Born: May 21, 1923
Died: October 16, 2000
Trivia: Scion of a wealthy New York City family, Rick Jason managed to get himself expelled from eight different prep schools before finally graduating with acceptable grades from the Rhodes School. Following World War II service, Jason attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts on the GI Bill. He was discovered for the theatre by actor/director Hume Cronyn, who cast Jason as an Ecuadorian Indian in the brief Broadway production Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. After making his movie bow in 1952's Sombrero, Jason could be seen in lightweight second-lead roles in such films as The Lieutenant Wore Skirts (1955) and The Wayward Bus (1957). In 1960, he was cast as a tuxedoed secret agent on the syndicated TV series The Case of the Dangerous Robin. Two years later, he signed up for a five-season hitch as Lt. Gil Hanley on the popular TV war drama Combat. For the first time in his life, Jason found himself subjected to the fan-magazine publicity glare, raising eyebrows by marrying three women during a period of 19 months! Rick Jason's post-Combat career hasn't been quite so remarkable, with appearances in such second-echelon features as Color Me Dead (1969) and The Witch Who Came From the Sea (1976).
Lloyd Bochner (Actor) .. Thorne
Born: July 29, 1924
Died: October 29, 2005
Trivia: After racking up impressive stage credits in Canada and the U.S., actor Lloyd Bochner familiarized himself with American televiewers in the supporting role of Captain Nicholas Lacey in the prime-time TV serial One Man's Family (1952). Dozens of guest-star assignments later, Bochner again showed up on a weekly basis as police chief Neil Campbell in Hong Kong (1960). His later TV series stints included The Richard Boone Show (1963, as a member of Boone's "repertory company"), and Dynasty (1981-1982 season, as Cecil Colby). In films from 1963's Drums of Africa, Bochner has been seen in such characterizations as Marc Peters in the Carol Lynley version of Harlow (1965) and Dr. Cory in The Dunwich Horror (1969). By far, Bochner's most memorable assignment was the 1962 Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man," as the scientist who learns all too late that "It's a cookbook!"; nearly 30 years later, he parodied this deathless moment in Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991). Lloyd Bochner is the father of Emmy-winning actor Hart Bochner.
Jacques Aubuchon (Actor) .. Kopke
Born: October 30, 1924
Monique LeMaire (Actor) .. Julie
John Lodge (Actor) .. Ramsey
Born: October 20, 1903
Anthony Rogers (Actor) .. Maples
Phil Bonwell (Actor) .. Frost
Herb Andress (Actor) .. German Lieutenant
Born: January 10, 1935
Died: April 08, 2004
Trivia: With a physical appearance that conjures up images of Lee Marvin crossed with a later-day (and slightly more physically imposing) James Caan, Teutonic screen star Herb Andress found success in both Europe and abroad in such films as Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Beware the Holy Whore (1971) and the 1985 sci-fi drama Enemy Mine. After launching a stateside career in the campy 1966 horror musical The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini, the Austrian native spent the majority of the 1970s essaying bit roles in such features as The Big Bust Out, As of Tomorrow, and Casanova & Co. As he grew increasingly disillusioned with the American film industry (due in no small part to typecasting as the typical, blond-haired German soldier), Andress gravitated ever more frequently toward such German efforts as Purity of Heart and The Venus Trap in the 1980s. In the 1990s, Andress appeared almost exclusively on the German screen, though the English-language drama Baltic Storm would offer the enduring actor in his final role before he died of cancer in April of 2004. Herb Andress was 69.
