Cook and Effy are in self-imposed exile: they've gone to stay with Cook's father. Back in Bristol, JJ is trying to snap Freddie out of his depressed stupour.

Our gang are back after the summer break, in a seemingly protective bubble - their hedonism. There are no consequences, no tomorrow and everyone will live forever. Then Thomas experiences a life changing event, causing him to question everything - his faith, his family and even his choice of friends. The reverberations will reach far beyond Thomas's story, affecting the lives of all those we know around him.

  

Episode 31 - Season 4, Episode 2: Emily

Emily and Naomi are loved up and enjoying their extended summer of love together. The thorn in Emily's side is her family. Her mother is unable to accept Naomi as anything other than a bad influence, and is keen for Emily to go travelling alone without her girlfriend, offering her money as a cash incentive. Emily is intent on standing by her woman and showing her mother they're stronger than that.

  

Episode 32 - Season 4, Episode 3: Cook

Cook is in prison. After beating someone up at the party in front of a room full of witnesses, he's told by his lawyer that he has no choice but to plead guilty. But Cook isn't willing to accept responsibility and pleads not guilty, and is released on bail.

  

Episode 33 - Season 4, Episode 4: Katie

Katie Fitch has a problem. Katie's family's bankrupt, and they've got nowhere to live. And under the strain of it all, Jenna and Rob seem to be headed for splitsville and James Fitch is scared. At the same time, Jenna's new company "Let's Get Fitched" has its first client: Bristol Rovers wag Brandy, a friend of Katie's through her Guillermo WAG phase. And Katie's got to make sure the hen night goes with a swing.

  

Episode 34 - Season 4, Episode 5: Freddie

Freddie is loved up. Completely. He and Effy are enjoying their time together and carrying on their hedonistic ways with no thought of tomorrow. His father and sister never see him and neither do the rest of the gang. At College, he's been threatened with expulsion if he doesn't get his work in. He's given a final warning by new teacher Mr T Love and the pressure's on to fix things.

  

Episode 35 - Season 4, Episode 6: Jj

JJ is in love. Lara Lloyd is sweet perfection and he's smitten. But JJ thinks she's way out of his league and lacks the courage to ask her out. Thomas tells him he should make a move, and if he doesn't, he will. So JJ plucks up the courage...

Effy has been in a psychiatric hospital recovering since she tried to take her own life. After lots of sessions with her counsellor John Foster, he tells her she is ready to go back home. Effy is worried she could slip back into her previous state, but John assures her that as long as she is disciplined she will be ok, and she will still visit him for sessions.

  

Episode 37 - Season 4, Episode 8: Everyone

With their A-level results in for most of the gang, thoughts about the past and the future are on their minds. Thomas is running fast, Katie is doing her best to match make, JJ is baby sitting, Cookie's up to his old tricks, Emily's confused and Naomi's had enough. Effy is released and pining for Freddie but no-one knows where he is. And Pandora has news of her own, but is anybody around to listen?

  

Episode 38 - Season 5, Episode 1: Franky

Loner Franky starts at Roundview and accidentally challenges Mini's position as Queen Bee. Mini plays the long game and Franky finds herself befriended by the girls. When she won't conform to what Mini expects of her she is spat out. Franky meets Matty, who understands and empowers her. Franky stands up to Mini, which inspires Grace to join her. A new gang is formed - Franky, Alo, Rich and Grace. Franky has finally found friends, but in doing so has started a war with Mini.

  

Episode 39 - Season 5, Episode 2: Metal Rich

Rich uses his taste in extreme music to keep the world, especially girls, at bay. When Alo finds Rich's perfect woman, Rich is forced to into pairing up with Grace to learn how to chat up girls. But first she must learn the ways of metal to impersonate a metal chick. Rich continually pushes Grace away, refusing to believe a mainstream girl could understand him. He loses his hearing and learns about compromise. Rich allows Grace into his world, but has his heart broken when she puts Mini and Liv first.

  

Episode 40 - Season 5, Episode 3: Mini

Mini is under threat. When Grace brings Franky into the Charity Fashion Show, Mini sacks them both, and re-imagines the show in her own image to cement her power. Despite appearances, her relationship is also rocky - Nick can't wait forever for sex. As Mini struggles to maintain control, Liv acts out in the worst way possible - giving Nick what Mini failed to. Mini discovers but pretends it hasn't happened. Mini loses her virginity at the wrong time, with the wrong person and for all the wrong reasons.

  

Episode 41 - Season 5, Episode 4: Liv

Liv continues to sleep with Nick, unsure why. Mini befriends the gang to isolate Liv. Liv takes off. She meets a boy called Matty, and they take a day out of reality with no consequences or commitments. When they break the law they decide to run away together. Matty has a secret - he is Nick's estranged brother. After rejecting him, Liv acknowledges her need for a real relationship and takes a chance on a boy who no-one believes in. Liv admits her Nick affair to Mini, but Mini isn't ready to forgive. Matty and Nick are reunited, but Mini and Liv's friendship has changed forever.

  

Episode 42 - Season 5, Episode 5: Nick

Nick is star of the school - he's hot, he's the son of a proud father, he's a rugby hero and he's got the perfect arm candy in Mini. But Matty's reappearance has unsettled Nick. As he watches his brother slip effortlessly into new friendships, old wounds are re-opened and Nick's game begins to suffer. Nick realises that everything he thought he wanted - rugby success, the approval of his father - is crushing him. He leaves all this behind, and puts his faith in Matty.

  

Episode 43 - Season 5, Episode 6: Alo

Alo has always lived on Creevey Farm, but lately the sins of the city call to him. Alo's out partying, getting fucked, in his continuous attempts to get laid. But his parents are fed up with having a useless son. They take Alo out of college and get him to buckle down on the farm. Alo rebels and has a party that ruins the farm, hoping this will show his parents that they can't keep him trapped there. When his dad is hospitalised, the most irresponsible boy on earth realises it's time to finally grow up.

  

Episode 44 - Season 5, Episode 7: Grace

Grace has always believed in fairytales and happy endings, but is forced to face reality. When Rich accidentally learns that David F-ing Blood is her father Grace has some explaining to do. Blood disapproves of Rich, and threatens to send her back to Mayberry's College for Young Ladies if her grades drop. Grace has to pass her drama exam, but with her relationship in turmoil and the whole gang at odds in her production of Twelfth Night, it's not looking likely. Grace manages to pull it off, but Blood goes back on his word, sending her to Mayberry's anyway. Rich rescues her, climbing up to her room and proposing. Her own real-life Romeo.

  

Episode 45 - Season 5, Episode 8: Everyone

It's the day of Rich and Grace's wedding and the fractured gang try and make it a happy day but they're at each other's throats. When the van breaks down on the way to the church the gang split up. Everyone has to go through their own test to make it to the church on time. Grace and Rich question if marriage is really for them. Alo picks up the pieces when Nick wonders how he became such a stoned loser. Liv and Mini both lose the people they have put their trust in, when Matty and Franky choose each other. And Franky finally gives into her desires for Matty, but the normality of sexual relationships is not for her. The gang work through their problems, and come together as close friends. Nothing will tear them apart.

  

Episode 46 - Season 6, Episode 1: Everyone

The gang are on a summer holiday in Morocco. The villa may be half finished, in the middle of nowhere and without running water, but they’ve found a load of weed under the floorboards so they don’t care.

  

Episode 47 - Season 6, Episode 2: Rich

Professor David Blood has banned Rich from visiting Grace in hospital and it’s killing him. Alo tries to keep Rich out of trouble with band practice, but Rich is committed to his love. He stands outside the hospital, waiting. Then one day his phone rings – it’s Grace. She’s woken up and needs to see him.

  

Episode 48 - Season 6, Episode 3: Alex

It’s Alex Henley’s first day at Roundview College, but doesn’t seem to be worried about fitting in or making new friends. But he immediately catches the eye of another Roundview student. When she smiles at him, he smiles back. But he doesn’t approach.

  

Episode 49 - Season 6, Episode 4: Franky

Franky is in a bad place – it’s the week of her mock exams and she’s unable to concentrate of her studies. Her friends are avoiding her, while Jeff and Geoff’s attempts at parental support only succeed in making her feel smothered.

  

Episode 50 - Season 6, Episode 5: Mini

Mini’s Mum has a pervy new live-in boyfriend who Mini hates with a passion. To makes matters worse, Alo has broken the rules of their no-strings-attached secret relationship and declared his love for her. Mini is trapped. She’s lost control of her life and needs to get away.

  

Episode 51 - Season 6, Episode 6: Nick

Nick is desperately in love with Franky, but it’s a one-way street. He has no choice but to accept Franky as his friend and nothing more, but his love for her grows with each passing day.

  

Episode 52 - Season 6, Episode 7: Alo

Alo still has no idea that Mini is carrying his baby. Fed up of trying to get back to the fun times they used to have, he attempts to get over Mini by hooking up with a new girl, Poppy Champion. She’s perfect for Alo and they hit it off immediately. Mini is soon a distant memory, and Franky’s attempts to make him see sense fall on deaf ears.

It's the last day of exams and Alex throws a big party to celebrate. He's still living in his Grandmother's house; Liv has moved in too. Liv parties hard and is sick in the back garden. She hears a familiar voice coming from the alleyway behind the house. When she goes to investigate, she sees Grace standing in the distance. Liv is startled. When she looks back Grace is gone. In her room, Liv watches a film of Grace bouncing on her new bed while the sound of Alex fucking his latest conquest filters through the wall. Liv cries herself to sleep.

  

Episode 54 - Season 6, Episode 9: Mini and Franky

Mini and Franky have been hiding from the world in Mini's house for several weeks. Mini's bump is now too pronounced to hide, while Franky is avoiding Nick and doing her best to delay the inevitable moment when he realises his brother is back. When Shelley returns from her holidays, she knows something is up and tells Franky to leave. Mini is already stressed out, but when Matty follows them down the street on the way to Mini's check up, it becomes too much for her to handle. Mini collapses while Franky and Matty argue. Franky panics and calls an ambulance.

  

Episode 55 - Season 6, Episode 10: Everyone

Franky tears her house apart and finds the address of her old social worker. She hitches a ride to Birmingham with Dylan, a lorry driver whose optimism irritates her. Meanwhile, Mini lies in hospital, her condition uncertain. Nick and Matty put their differences aside and set out to find Franky, aware of how much trouble she is in. Franky persuades the social worker to reveal her Mum's address and sets out to find her.

Working as an assistant at a hedge fund in The City, Effy, with a seemingly unwavering energy and drive, works hard to flourish professionally.
