Episode 6 - Episode 6In the wake of the bloody battle of Beamfleot, Uhtred and Brida reunite on a mission. While Skade's curse causes ructions amongst Uhtred's men the Danes regroup and Cnut tasks Aethelwold with a new assignment - to kill Uhtred.

Episode 7 - Episode 7Uhtred and his men make a last attempt to reclaim Skade while her power disrupts the Dane camp; jealousy between Haesten and Bloodhair leads to a fight to the death. Aethelwold returns to Winchester and receives shocking punishment for his treachery.

Episode 8 - Episode 8Winchester prepares to celebrate the royal wedding but the power vacuum that will follow Alfred's death proves divisive. If Uhtred is to complete his mission he must first rid himself of Skade's curse and steal into the city to ask Thyra for help.

Episode 9 - Episode 9Alfred's condition worsens; after an emotional meeting with the king, Uhtred has a decision to make. Edward's enemies capitalise on the fear and uncertainty that grips Winchester while Uhtred's foes close in and Thyra falls victim to a hateful crime.

Episode 10 - Episode 10As Winchester mourns, the Danes march to seize Wessex but before the Saxons meet them in battle they must face enemies from within their ranks. Suffering a great loss, Beocca entreats Uhtred to defend what Alfred has built before it is lost forever.
