Marta is torn between her shared dreams with Bela and her future plans with Terence. Dramatically Marta leaves with Bela to continue their work together in the underground movement in Hungary.

A young mother and recent widow, seems to be managing so well, running the drought-stricken farm and raising her two children. Pam is refused credit and her brave front begins to crumble.

Simon's ex-fiancee, Sally, has moved into the flat to stay and it looks to Vicky as though Simon and Sally have serious plans for the future.

A middle aged truck driver is forced to stay in Wandin Valley when he pulls the muscles in his leg, but his condition worsens when he contracts malaria.

Controversy develops at the hospital as Brendan and Matron disagree on whether or not Brett's mother should stay with her son.

Now that Simon's friend Sally has gone back to Sydney, Vicky goes slightly overboard trying to impress Simon. It all results in a marriage proposal in a dingy roadside diner.
