Episode 1 - Episode 1Annika (Nicola Walker) and her team are assigned their first case when a man's body is dredged from the Clyde, a harpoon piercing through his head. Their investigation leads to the victim's struggling boat business, and his unscrupulous dealings. Channelling Moby Dick's obsessive search for the white whale, Annika feels there's a poetic justice at the heart of this murder, much to her team's bemusement. And when a second death is uncovered, the new team need to pull together to find the killer before any more lives are lost.Meanwhile, Annika's daughter Morgan (Silvie Furneaux) is struggling to adjust to the new life that goes along with her mother's new job. Morgan makes her feelings clear at the school play, which causes a headache for Annika.

Episode 2 - Episode 2When a body is found on a boat drifting in the Clyde, the case takes the team to the Isle of Bute. Small love tokens found at the crime scene nod towards a jilted lover, but as the team investigate further, a darker secret starts to emerge. Fighting against a community that doesn?t want to give up its secrets, Annika (Nicola Walker) and the team piece together the events of the night of the murder - with Annika finding parallels in the Norse tales the isle is known for.Struggling with her own demons, Morgan (Silvie Furneaux) finds herself unknowingly thrust into the centre of the case, with upsetting consequences.

Episode 3 - Episode 3When the body of scientist Murdo Sterling is found in Loch Katrine - Glasgow's main water source - Annika (Nicola Walker) can't help but think of Ibsen's Enemy of the People. And as the team start to uncover Murdo's debauched lifestyle of infidelity, fraud and corporate lies, it's clear there really was something nasty in the water. But with so many people wanting him dead, which one did he push over the edge? Annika uses her sharp eye and empathy to understand which of Murdo's bad acts made someone ferociously drown this victim.Meanwhile, Morgan's (Silvie Furneaux) first session with psychiatrist Jake (Paul McGann) is complicated by Annika's attraction to him. And when Annika finds out that Morgan has been texting Blair (Katie Leung), she struggles with how to discuss it with her daughter without crossing the lines of trust in their relationship

Episode 4 - Episode 4When writer Cara Gibson is found dead under a bridge on Glasgow's riverfront, Annika (Nicola Walker) and the team are called in to solve the murder. A darling of the tabloids, Cara wasn't afraid to ruffle feathers, and her books have ruined careers and left a lot of lives in tatters. But which of these people would be driven to murder? And why has she recently turned her back on a successful publishing career to take a low-paid teaching job at Glasgow University? When Annika runs into Jake (Paul McGann) at the aquarium, the two end up on an impromptu date. Morgan (Silvie Furneaux) meets Blair's (Katie Leung) younger sister, and they find themselves attracted to each other.

Episode 5 - Episode 5An early morning call out to a party boat on the Clyde reveals the body of Paul Gilbride, a Glasgow businessman killed during his anniversary party, and thrown in the river from the boat. The kind of guy everybody loved, the team delve deep into his life to find motive for this brutal murder. Annika (Nicola Walker) looks to the Greek stories of revenge and sacrifice to help her solve this crime, especially when the method of his murder is revealed.Annika admits to Morgan (Silvie Furneaux) that she's been seeing Jake (Paul McGann), and the three have dinner together. However, when Annika is called away on a case, a conversation with Morgan makes Jake question if this is the right time for them to date.

Episode 6 - Episode 6A young woman murdered on the Glasgow docks hits the team hard, when Michael's (Jamie Sives) brother is named as the next of kin. Michael is taken off the case while his brother is investigated, and it doesn't look good as the evidence starts to pile up against him. An unexpected discovery means the case takes a frightening twist, and Annika (Nicola Walker) and her team quickly find themselves in grave danger, their lives at risk from the murderer.Morgan (Silvie Furneaux) turns 16, and while delighted, Annika is starting to struggle with feelings of her little girl growing up. When Annika finds herself in danger, she realises she needs to make a decision that will hugely effect Morgan's life
