Season 3 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - People With Money

At the conclusion of last season, the CSIs faced their toughest challenge yet, when bombs where detonated across the city and Det. Flack suffered severe injuries during the explosions. Mac struggled with the guilt of not being able to get Flack and his team out of harms' way, and Stella fought to regain some sense of normalcy after being brutally attacked by her boyfriend. The third season finds the team in search of new beginnings as Det. Flack comes back to the job after slowly recovering from his injuries and Mac secretly begins dating again after the death of his wife. He finds companionship in a co-worker, which presents a unique challenge as he tries to figure out the professional and personal connotations of his private and public lives intersecting.

  

Episode 2 - Not What It Looks Like

Stella, Flack, Lindsay and Danny can't resolve how, despite the police being tipped off by the store's personnel, the women were able to escape the jewelry store so quickly. Also, Lindsay proves her strength when she puts herself in harm's way to solve the case. Meanwhile, when the mummified body of a city councilman's missing wife is found during a building's demolition, Mac and Peyton have their first professional argument when Mac isn't satisfied with her findings from the autopsy.

  

Episode 3 - Love Run Cold

When a runner drops dead in the middle of a marathon and the cause seems to be carbon monoxide, Mac and Stella can't reconcile how someone would be poisoned in the middle of Central Park. With thousands of suspects and no witnesses, the CSIs fight to collect evidence while spectators and marathon runners contaminate their crime scene. Meanwhile, a high-end vodka's ice-themed promotional launch party turns deadly when a model is stabbed, leaving Danny and Lindsay racing to collect vital evidence before it melts.

  

Episode 4 - Hung Out to Dry

When a college girl is found beheaded at a sorority party, the entire team focuses on their toughest case yet. The victims wear t-shirts emblazoned with a logo inspired by Greek mythology that offers clues and hidden messages. By tracking the codes on the web, the team discovers that a serial killer is replicating the fate of mythological creatures by killing people in the same manner, and the only way to stop him is to unravel the hidden codes before he strikes again.

  

Episode 5 - Oedipus Hex

Danny and Lindsay work to find who bludgeoned a young woman to death after her performance with SuicideGirls and their suspect list grows smaller when the murder weapon proves to be a stiletto worn by one of the women. Meanwhile, Mac, Stella and Flack investigate the death of a homeless man turned streetballer who was killed after winning an intense one-on-one game in Rucker Park against one of professional basketball's best.

  

Episode 6 - Open and Shut

A rooftop swimsuit photo shoot ends badly when the hotel's concierge falls off a balcony and is impaled by a statue. Mac, Danny and Det. Flack question their primary suspect, a supermodel who was seen arguing with the woman shortly before her death. Meanwhile, Stella, Lindsay and Sheldon rush to the scene where a woman stands in shock after shooting an intruder. The case hits close to home for Stella as the shooting death reminds her of her personal experience with her violent and now deceased ex-boyfriend.

  

Episode 7 - Murder Sings the Blues

When a young woman is found dead on the subway, the CSIs find evidence that proves the train was the location of a rave, New York's newest, high-speed underground party destination.

  

Episode 8 - Consequences

When a professional paintball player is shot in a warehouse, the team assumes the murder was committed by an opposing player who took the game too far. But their investigation becomes more complicated when his opponent goes missing. The evidence at the scene proves to be "black cocaine" originally confiscated in a raid by the police department months before, and Mac's suspicions of an internal leak causes friction within the department. Meanwhile, Stella grows increasingly paranoid when she suspects that she's being followed.

  

Episode 9 - And Here's to You, Mrs. Azrael

Five days after surviving a horrific car accident, the woman who lost control of her car while driving home drunk is murdered in her hospital room shortly after coming out of a coma. Despite being paralyzed from the waist down, the doctors gave the victim a good chance for recovery, so the team must determine who wanted her dead in spite of her prognosis. Meanwhile, Sheldon returns to the hospital where he once worked as a promising surgeon and his investigation opens old wounds that led to his departure and caused him to become a medical examiner.

  

Episode 10 - Sweet 16

While investigating the death of a base jumper, Mac, Danny and Det. Flack discover the body of a trainer found brutally murdered on his roof and whose pigeons where poisoned. Meanwhile, Stella, Lindsay and Dr. Hawkes arrive at an elaborate Sweet 16 party that turned deadly when the birthday girl's father is found dead behind the wheel of her new $60,000 dollar car.

  

Episode 11 - Raising Shane

The CSIs are floored when Sheldon Hawkes is apprehended during an early morning run as the primary suspect in a bartender's murder. While he maintains his innocence, Mac and the team grow increasingly frustrated when they are removed from the investigation for fear they'll contaminate the evidence. With a mountain of evidence stacked against him, the team works tirelessly on their own to piece together the clues that will hopefully prove Hawkes' innocence. Meanwhile, Danny and Stella investigate what seems to be an overdose, but they realize their routine case may be connected to escaped serial killer Shane Casey.

  

Episode 12 - Silent Night

When an intruder breaks into the home of a deaf family and fatally shoots their teenage daughter, Mac works with the grieving mother who relies on her other senses to provide clues that will help catch her daughter's killer. Along the way she also provides assistance to Mac as he struggles in his relationship with Peyton. Meanwhile, Stella and Danny investigate when a professional ice skater is killed prior to competing in the U.S. ice skating regionals and whose body was found by her best friend, an Olympic skater who thinks she might be to blame for her death. Also, when Lindsay abruptly walks away from a crime scene and loses control of her emotions, the team questions her past.

  

Episode 13 - Obsession

The rules of the Iditarod race encourage teams to sabotage their enemies' carts, so once the cause of death of their victim is proven to be multiple blows to the head, Danny, Sheldon and Det. Angell work to determine if this fun annual challenge became too competitive for one team. Meanwhile, when a successful real estate agent is found dead inside a Manhattan brownstone by some young kids, Mac, Det. Flack, Lindsay and Stella investigate what appears to be a possible kidnapping turned deadly.

  

Episode 14 - The Lying Game

While investigating the murder of a transgender showgirl, the CSIs work to narrow down their suspect list from a large number of guests since the victim was murdered outside a congressional banquet and a magazine launch party at the hotel. Stella and Sheldon face an uphill bureaucratic battle when they learn that the victim was involved in a heated argument with a congressman shortly before being killed. Meanwhile, while questioning the business partners of the president of an extreme sports company whose body was found inside a city salt truck, Mac and Danny discover an "alibi business" where trained professionals create the perfect cover for their clients' indiscretions. Also, Lindsay must take a leave of absence and return home to Montana when she's called to testify at her friends' murder trial.

  

Episode 15 - Some Buried Bones

One of Mac's key witnesses in the investigation of the murder of a college student turns out to be his stepson Reed, who knew the victim. The team learns that the student was a writer for the college newspaper who may have uncovered details that certain people on campus would kill to keep secret. Meanwhile, Stella, Det. Angell and Danny face one of their toughest hunts yet, when a security guard is murdered in the dressing room of a high end store and their top suspect is Ava Brandt, an ingenious master of disguise whose chameleon ways allow her to stay one step ahead of the law.

  

Episode 16 - Heart of Glass

While investigating the murder of a music industry executive, Mac is puzzled by the account of the victim's sister, who passes a lie detector test and swears that she and her sibling were attacked by a woman who broke into their home. However, the sister had a motive to kill her own brother, given his lucrative life insurance policy. Meanwhile, Danny and Det. Angell investigate the death of a beautiful woman found dead in a stranger's bathtub. Also, Stella has a medical scare while investigating a crime scene.

  

Episode 17 - The Ride-In

Mac, Danny and Det. Flack are puzzled when they are called to a crime scene and find an ark in the murder victim's backyard full of people, live animals and rations. During interrogation, the passengers' stories confirm that they believed that the apocalypse was upon them and the victim had promised them salvation. Meanwhile, Stella and Sheldon investigate the death of a man who led anti-smoking protests and caught on fire while wearing a giant cigarette suit.

  

Episode 18 - Sleight Out of Hand

A prominent illusionist comes to New York to perform a once in a lifetime show, three tricks in three nights on the streets of New York City, but when members of his team start to show up dead in crude replicas of his tricks, Mac and the team must deal with science vs. illusion. Meanwhile, Lindsay is in Montana testifying in her friends’ murder case when Danny arrives. Seeing him relieves her anxiety, allowing her to retell the traumatic event and finally bring closure to that phase in her life.

  

Episode 19 - A Daze of Wine and Roaches

Mac and Stella face diplomatic road blocks while investigating the murder of a member of a young girl's entourage of professional handlers who was killed during a French Revolution-themed fundraiser at the U.N. Carmen Argenziano ("Stargate SG-1") Guest Stars In A Recurring Role As Deputy Inspector Stanton Gerrard.

  

Episode 20 - What Schemes May Come

The CSIs are faced with two bizarre murders and a case that leads them into the world of genetic experimentation. The CSIs investigate three bizarre cases when a man wearing medieval armor is found impaled by a lance, another is found stabbed with an ice pick and a body is stolen from the coroner's van leading the team into the world of genetic testing.

  

Episode 21 - Past Imperfect

A serial killer, whose conviction rested on his confession to a cop, has his verdict overturned when Mac jails his arresting officer. But when a victim surfaces sporting the killer's signature, Mac ignores direct orders and decides to go after him.

  

Episode 22 - Cold Reveal

Stella is a murder suspect when her DNA matches the evidence in a Philadelphia cold case. Mac’s career is put in jeopardy. Stella is forced to deal with painful memories when Det. Valens (Danny Pino) visits the lab and says her DNA is connected to a Philadelphia cold case making her a suspect, and Mac's career is put in jeopardy when an internal investigation is opened against him.

  

Episode 23 - ...Comes Around

Mac finds himself in the center of a political firestorm following the death of a serial killer in Mac's custody. As the NYPD Advocate tries to prove Mac didn't follow procedure, Mac gets some help from the last person he would expect. The assistance ultimately helps him turn the tables on his nemesis Deputy Inspector Gerrard. Across town, the rest of the team investigates a case where John McEnroe is their number one suspect in the murder of a man found impaled on a condom machine. Despite McEnroe's plea of innocence, his DNA is found at the scene and his history of having a bad temper doesn't help his case.

  

Episode 24 - Snow Day

Following the largest drug seizure in NY history, an Irish drug lord and his henchmen descend upon the lab to get their drugs out of the lab’s large seizure vault. The building is evacuated, but Mac, Stella and Dr. Hawkes stay behind to foil the crews elaborate heist. Across town, Danny and Adam are held hostage by some of the drug lord’s henchmen in an effort to lure police away from the lab during the heist. Lindsay waits anxiously in the wings, feeling guilty as Danny covered her shift after the two of them had a late night together.
