Episode 1 - Episode One

A new comedy about two friends Andy (Mackenzie Crook) and Lance (Toby Jones) who go searching for their hearts' desire with a couple of metal detectors. Following a chance encounter with a young history student, Lance and Andy embark on a journey towards the discovery of a lifetime. All they need to do is get permission from the local landowner, the mad one who is rumoured to have done away with his wife.

Club president Terry is keen to help Lance and Andy search the bottom paddock at Bishop's Farm, but only because he's convinced that's where Larry Bishop has buried his missing wife. Meanwhile, Lance is determined to get his ex along to hear him play at the local pub's folk music night.

Russell and Hugh embark on their mission to recover the Mayor's chain of office from the car park in Barnfather Woods, while Sophie proves she’s still very bad at spying. Both Becky and Lance have something important to tell Andy.

Andy suddenly has a job interview to go to, while Lance has a lot of catching up to do. The mystery of the buried bomber is the least of their problems, but a disturbing possibility emerges from an unlikely source that throws everything into doubt.

After recent revelations, Lance, Andy, Becky and Sophie are all trying to come to terms with an uncertain future. In fact, only one of them is going to get a good night’s sleep when Terry puts his emergency plan into action.

Finally, it is the day of the DMDC’s annual rally and Terry is expecting a really big turn-out. But for Andy and Lance, will the day bring heartbreak or triumph?

Life isn’t peaceful at home for Andy and Lance, while a solar farm threatens their detecting permission.

Home lives remain chaotic but Lance and Andy start finding good stuff just as they’re on the brink of losing their farm.

Andy and Lance go to great lengths to save their land. Away from fields, Andy quits his job and Lance deals with an unwelcome guest.

Lance is determined to find the thief that stole his gold, while Andy’s lies are catching up with him.

Andy and Lance discover that their beloved oak tree is due to be felled and Andy comes across some treasure.
