Episode 1 - The Gift / Harry’s Mouse

In the Gift, Miss Blythe sets Milly and Molly’s class the task of giving something to each of the lonely people in town. It must be special and show that the community does care. Milly and Molly help all their friends to find the right people to help and the right gifts for them, but discover there is no one left for them to give a gift to. In the end they get all the lonely people together, giving them with the best present of all: companionship. In Harry’s Mouse, Milly and Molly think they know all about looking after animals… until they promise to look after Harry’s Mouse while he goes on holidays. The mouse escapes more than once, causing havoc, hysteria and heartache, especially when the girls think Marmalade has had Harry’s mouse for dinner!

  

Episode 2 - Cats Alive / Mr Limpy’s Vase

In Cat’s Alive, a happy event becomes a drama when Milly and Molly can’t find a home for the last kitten. Milly’s Dad threatens the worst, but the story ends happily when the lonely Ferryman takes on the last kitten, who becomes his faithful first mate Bosun. In Mr Limpy’s Vase, Milly and Molly try to help Mr Limpy with some chores, but thanks to the cats and Mr Limpy’s dog, and to some extent Milly and Molly’s forgetfulness, a precious vase is broken. Milly and Molly try to fix the vase without telling Mr Limpy but in the end have to own up to the accident and make amends to Mr Limpy.

  

Episode 3 - Class Concert / Sweet Pea

In Class Concert, Molly’s beautiful singing makes her the star of the school concert. But all the singing practice takes her away from time with Milly. Milly is selfishly pleased when Molly gets a bad throat, because now Molly can spend time with her. But Milly realises, to be a good friend she has to act in Molly’s best interest and not her own. She works to help Molly get better in time for the concert. In Sweet Pea, The Policeman and his wife have a baby, but Milly and Molly can’t come up with the right present for the baby. The new family struggle with the demands of the new arrival and can’t even agree on a new name for the poor baby. Milly and Molly look after the baby and give them something the police folk really need…some rest. They even help find a name for the baby.

  

Episode 4 - Sooty / Lost and Found

In Sooty, Milly and Molly look after Sooty, an injured cat, whilst Molly’s cat, Tom Cat, exhibits strange behaviour. Meanwhile, Molly becomes jealous when Milly is invited to a party but she is excluded. Molly shuns Milly but, through the behaviour of Tom Cat, Molly realises that she is just jealous and that even though Milly is going to the party without her, Milly and Molly are still the best of friends. In Lost and Found, Molly shows enormous tenacity when Dolly goes missing. She never gives up hope of finding her beloved toy right up until she discovers that it is Ella Bella Boo who has had her all along. When Ella Bella Boo can’t be parted with Dolly, Molly realises that she may have lost Dolly forever…just as well Milly has an answer.

  

Episode 5 - Aunt Maude Is an Alien / Stranded

In Aunt Maude is an Alien, Milly and Molly are tired of Humphrey’s teasing, so they play a trick on him. They convince him that Aunt Maude is an alien from outer space, set on the destruction of Earth! Their trick is funny at first as Humphrey makes a fool of himself, but the trick quickly gets out of control and Milly and Molly soon regret their actions. In Stranded, Molly is frightened of crossing the river on the ferry for the class excursion. But once she shares her fear with her friend Milly, they are able to work through it. Molly uses this lesson to help another classmate when the excursion is trapped out overnight by rising floodwaters.

  

Episode 6 - Giant Pumpkin Competition / Runaway Pinecones

In Giant Pumpkin Competition, Milly and Molly helped Biddy Bid and Aunt Maude repair their long-damaged friendship. But when each of the older women mentor each of the girls to compete against each other in the Giant Pumpkin Competition, the tenuous friendship between Aunt Maude and Biddy Bid quickly breaks down. Milly and Molly worry that the same thing could happen to their own special friendship. Can they all find a way to compete and remain friends? In Runaway Pinecones, Mr Limpy needs more pinecones for his fire to keep him and his dog warm, so Milly and Molly go to fetch some. Meanwhile, Tom and Jack try to catch Mr Limpy some fish for dinner. Both teams fail. Worse, the boys end up getting Milly and Molly’s pinecones and sell them to someone else. The four friends have to work together to get Mr Limpy both his meal and his pinecones.

  

Episode 7 - Ellie / Dog Walking Service

Ellie is a blind girl who comes to Milly and Molly’s class. In Ellie, it’s an experiment to see if Ellie can fit in. It takes a while for Milly and Molly to make friends with someone who is so different, but eventually they become the best of friends. But this friendship is jeopardised when Humphrey won’t let Ellie “fit in” and Ellie might have to leave the school. In Dog Walking Service, Milly and Molly are keen to earn some extra pocket money to buy some dolls toys. They start to walk some of the local dogs, but their impatience gets the better of them and they overextend themselves by walking too many dogs. When the dogs chase Marmalade, the girls can’t control them and disaster strikes!

  

Episode 8 - Cubby House / Horse Power

In Cubby House, Milly and Molly build a cubby house together. But soon their disagreement about how to play in the cubby house escalates to an argument, leaving their friendship in tatters. The two girls try to play with others, but find that they have to compromise even more and miss each other’s friendship. It takes a chance meeting of their two cats and a willingness to compromise to bring them back together again. In Horse Power, a drought hits Milly and Molly’s town and no one suffers more than Farmer Hegarty. Milly and Molly are heartbroken when Hegarty decides he can’t afford to keep his beloved horses Salt and Pepper. Milly and Molly help Farmer Hegarty find a way to keep the horses when they show him how the horses can save his huge fuel bills by towing the truck around.

  

Episode 9 - Stripes & Spots / Bad Egg

In Stripes & Spots, Milly contracts chicken pox just before her birthday party! Milly isn’t the only one to be disappointed, all the guests are too. Molly marshals the whole class to work together to still provide Milly with a happy birthday party. In Bad Egg, Milly and Molly discover a nest with three eggs in it. But when one of the eggs is destroyed, Milly and Molly immediately suspect Humphrey who is the most obvious culprit. The two girls are especially concerned about what Humphrey might do when the chicks hatch. When however, the nest is under threat by a large storm Humphrey becomes the unexpected saviour.

  

Episode 10 - Ride to School Day / Marmalade and the Birds

In Ride to School Day, national “Ride to School Day” is coming up but poor Molly is still riding with training wheels. She is embarrassed but also lacks the confidence to make the step into riding her bike by herself. Milly helps but still Molly can’t make the breakthrough until they enlist the experience of old Mr Limpy who was once a champion rider himself. He understands that to get things done it sometimes takes more than practice: it takes self-belief. In Marmalade and the Birds, Milly’s Dad has never really taken to Milly’s cat Marmalade. But things deteriorate when Milly gives her dad a bird bath. Marmalade starts to stalk the birds and things go from bad to worse and looks like Marmalade and the visiting birds can never live in harmony. It’s easy to see which one Milly’s Dad would rather keep!

  

Episode 11 - Replacement Teacher / Investigate

In Replacement Teacher, Mr Webster has taken over Milly and Molly’s class for a couple of weeks in Miss Blythe’s absence. But Mr Webster does things differently to Miss Blythe and Milly and Molly don’t warm to the changes…indeed, the whole class want things the way they were. But when Parents’ Day at school is in jeopardy they soon realise they have to change their minds, embrace the changes and discover that all change isn’t bad. In Investigate, something is eating Aunt Maude’s prize-winning vegetables. Using paw prints they find in the garden, Milly and Molly race against time to uncover the culprit and worry the phantom nibbler might be someone’s special pet. Mr Oddbottom, the man from the council, is after the culprit too and the girls worry what he might do if he finds the animal first!

  

Episode 12 - Tickle Bear Hunt / The Project

In Tickle Bear Hunt, when camping at Farmer Hegarty’s farm, Milly and Molly are told about the mysterious “Tickle Bears”. The girls go in search of a tickle bear in the hope to photograph it. But others are there to play tricks on our girls. The tricks back fire on the biggest trickster of them all. In The Project, Miss Blythe sets the class a project: each person has to tell the class why they are special and unique. Poor Milly and Molly struggle because others keep unintentionally using their ideas. Finally Milly has an idea… but it is the same as Molly’s! Molly sees a way to save the day as a good friend does. It’s this friendship that makes them both special.

  

Episode 13 - The Frog Pond / Goodbye Alf

In The Frog Pond, Milly and Molly save a tadpole. But as the tadpole grows, the problem of where to keep the amphibian becomes more difficult. There is only one place the girls can find which is suitable: the school playground. Unfortunately, this location is used by the soccer team and a frog’s habitat isn’t compatible with stomping football boots. Milly and Molly have to put on their problem-solving hats so the frog can live happily ever after. In Goodbye Alf, Milly and Molly are very disappointed when their friend Alf learns he has to move away. Alf lives with his Nan in a caravan park but the park is being closed and there is nowhere in town to move the caravan. Fortunately Nan’s expertise with horses and Farmer Hegarty’s sick horse presents a solution to the problem.
