Episode 1 - Murdoch Air

A man is killed in an aircrash, and Murdoch discovers the person behind the flying machine is his old nemesis James Pendrick, who has been aiming to secure a one million dollars prize for the first controlled flight. Pendrick is convinced that someone is determined steal his invention, and as investigations proceed a tale of conspiracy and sabotage is duly uncovered.

  

Episode 2 - Winston's Lost Night

When a soldier is slain with a sword, his hungover friend comes under suspicion. Elsewhere, Ogden finds herself unable to lie in court to obtain her annulment.

  

Episode 3 - Murdoch On the Corner

The 19th-century detective uses a new piece of technology - a film camera - in a bid to catch the person suspected of three killings. The victims had each come into a little money, and when it transpires that several wallets containing an address and 10 dollars have been dropped around the city, Murdoch deduces that the killer is punishing those who fail to return the money.

  

Episode 4 - A Study in Sherlock

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle makes an appearance when his supposedly fictional creation, Detective Sherlock Holmes, becomes entangled in a violent robbery.

  

Episode 5 - Murdoch au Naturel

A skeleton found in the woods by two young boys leads Detective Murdoch to a property where a group of people is going about their daily activities - completely naked. As Murdoch considers arresting them for public indecency, he is confronted by property owner Helmut Lindemann , who insists he leave immediately. Helmut's wife Irene escorts him off the grounds. Once outside the gates, Irene, now in a simple dress, admits to Murdoch her concern about the skeleton and community safety.

  

Episode 6 - Murdoch and the Cloud of Doom

Detective Murdoch is disturbed by a celluloid film sent to Mayor Cedric Clarkson that depicts a dog being asphyxiated by a noxious gas emitting from a canister. While the mayor assumes it's fake, Murdoch fears it isn't and that an ominous financial demand and threat to poison Toronto citizens could prove real.

  

Episode 7 - The Ghost of Queen's Park

After a politician is killed in the Queen's Park Provincial Parliament Building, the witness to the crime, night watchman Howard Briggs, tells Detective Murdoch and Constable Crabtree a ghost was responsible. At the crime scene, Crabtree confers with Lieutenant Governor Sir Oliver Mowat who identifies the dead politician as the provincial lands commissioner. Murdoch later learns from a reporter that the dead man was linked to the illegal dumping of slaughterhouse waste directly into Lake Ontario. Given the victim's political and business connections, Murdoch quickly dismisses Crabtree's suggestions about an otherworldly motive for the killing. But despite Murdoch's directive to focus on the facts at hand, Crabtree launches his own investigation into the building's rumoured haunting and paranormal activity. Confessing his theory to Dr. Grace, he's pleasantly surprised to learn she shares his fascination and together they set out to prove the murder was the work of an angry spectre.

  

Episode 8 - Murdoch in Ladies Wear

Detective Murdoch and Crabtree are called to a prestigious department store to investigate when manager Preston Monk is found dead from an apparent fall down the lift shaft. Murdoch notices the safety gate had been tampered with and Dr Grace discovers it was a blow to the head that actually killed Monk. Suspicions quickly turn to Florence Skyes, who had been fired the day of Monk's death. Brackenreid cautions Murdoch to proceed with the utmost discretion, but as the detective looks at more potential suspects, he finds indiscretions appear to be the most likely motive.

  

Episode 9 - Victoria Cross

A young woman who witnesses a pawnshop robbery and murder is stabbed in the back and left for dead. Arriving at the crime scene, Detective Murdoch and Constable Crabtree are surprised to find her alive, although unable to move. Meanwhile, a prison inmate asks to see Inspector Brackenreid. When Brackenreid arrives at the jail, the man is found hanged in his cell but Brackenreid recognizes him as Reginald Pullen, an old army buddy and hero. Deciding to delve deeper into his friend's suspicious death, Brackenreid's enquiries are brought to a halt when another inmate, who was ready to talk, is also found dead in his cell.

  

Episode 10 - Twisted Sisters

A large gash is found on the head of a drowned woman, suggesting the death was not an accident. Crabtree discovers she'd had aspirations to work as a reporter and wrote an etiquette column for the local newspaper. Murdoch begins to suspect she might have stumbled across a bigger story and that her murder was an effort to silence her. But when another young woman is found murdered in a similar manner, he is forced to reconsider.

  

Episode 11 - Lovers in a Murderous Time

After a man is brutally stabbed with a pitchfork in a hotel stable, Detective Murdoch's investigation uncovers some strange inconsistencies. Evidence gathered by Murdoch and Constable Crabtree leads them to Carl Rodriguez, a hotel guest who had a gambling grudge with the victim. Meanwhile, Julia's interviews with Felicity Dawes reveal vivid memories of the crime, ultimately yielding a confession. Where does the truth lie?

  

Episode 12 - Crime & Punishment

When Dr Darcy Garland is found shot dead at his home, multiple witnesses place his estranged wife Dr Julia Ogden at the scene. Murdoch faces further complications when Julia lies about her whereabouts at the time of the murder and his vindictive supervisor takes him off the case. Murdoch's insistence that Julia is incapable of the crime does little to assuage his boss's preoccupations, and she is quickly arrested and charged with murder. Will Murdoch be able to save her?

  

Episode 13 - The Murdoch Trap

With Julia Ogden on death row for the murder of her husband, Murdoch sets out to prove she was framed by James Gillies - even though he has been suspended. Assisted by Constable Crabtree, Murdoch painstakingly works to demonstrate that the evidence was cleverly fabricated.
