Episode 1 - Vegas

Sarah (Lauren Graham) steals Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) away on a birthday trip to Las Vegas, and what unfolds will set the Bravermans on a dramatic season-long course. Amber (Mae Whitman) faces a life change and grapples with how to navigate the new landscape of adulthood. Two days before opening, Adam (Peter Krause) and Kristina's (Monica Potter) charter school is far from ready, and the whole family springs into action to help complete the construction.

  

Episode 2 - Happy Birthday, Zeek

Kristina (Monica Potter) struggles to accommodate the individual needs of her Chambers Academy students, and Adam (Peter Krause) gets roped into the chaos when the school's lunch vendor quits on the spot. Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) faces a tough decision about his health, and amidst strong opinions from the other siblings, Crosby (Dax Shepard) supports his dad. Joel (Sam Jaeger) and Julia (Erika Christensen) meet with Sydney’s (Savannah Paige Rae) teacher when girl drama erupts at school. Sarah (Lauren Graham) wrestles with her ambivalence about Amber's (Mae Whitman) big news.

  

Episode 3 - The Waiting Room

Camille (Bonnie Bedelia) and the kids anxiously await news about Zeek (Craig T. Nelson). Julia (Erika Christensen) confronts Joel (Sam Jaeger) about their relationship status. Amber (Mae Whitman) decides to face her future and Drew (Miles Heizer) supports her. Episode 4 - A Potpourri of Freaks

Max (Max Burkholder) meets a new friend who means more to him than Kristina (Monica Potter) and Adam (Peter Krause) initially expect. After an awkward run-in with Sandy (Betsy Brandt), Sarah (Lauren Graham) tries to understand her place in Ruby's life, and conflict-averse Hank (Ray Romano) must test out his diplomacy skills. Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) fear that the uncertainty of their separation is harming their children. Crosby (Dax Shepard) tries to avert crisis at the Lunchonette by chasing down Oliver (Tyson Ritter), who has gone off-the-grid.

  

Episode 5 - The Scale of Affection is Fluid

Max (Max Burkholder) gathers intel on his new friend in search of common ground. Though Kristina (Monica Potter) fears he'll get his heart broken, he is more determined than ever to pursue this new relationship -- especially after some botched advice from Adam (Peter Krause). Amber (Mae Whitman) makes an unexpected connection and finds herself smitten. Julia's (Erika Christensen) new love interest shows up at the family BBQ and runs into Joel (Sam Jaeger). Crosby (Dax Shepard) lets loose with Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) and Jasmine (Joy Bryant) grows concerned about her husband.

  

Episode 6 - Too Big to Fail

Business is slow at the Luncheonette, and Crosby (Dax Shepard) feels the financial pressure. He fears that he'll disappoint Jabbar (Tyree Brown) until Jasmine (Joy Bryant) comes to the rescue. Hank (Ray Romano) and Sarah (Lauren Graham) plan an ill-fated game night that fails to win over Ruby (Courtney Grosbeck), but Amber (Mae Whitman) steps up to help. Drew (Miles Heizer) must declare a major, and he confronts the practical realities of choosing a career.

  

Episode 7 - These Are the Times We Live In

Amber (Mae Whitman) hopes to prove herself as a future mother when she agrees to babysit Max (Max Burkholder) and Nora (Mia and Ella Allan), but the results are disastrous. Sarah (Lauren Graham) comes to Amber's side for support. Joel (Sam Jaeger) and Julia (Erika Christensen) make strides toward a final decision on their relationship. Hank (Ray Romano) has a heart-to-heart with Sandy (Betsy Brandt), who is surprised and moved by how Hank has grown. Meanwhile, Drew (Miles Heizer) is guilted into hanging out with Zeek (Craig T. Episode 9 - Lean In

Tension between Dylan (Ally Ioannides) and Max (Max Burkholder) reaches a fever pitch at the Chambers' Academy Open House. Kristina (Monica Potter) and Adam (Peter Krause) find themselves tangled in the conflict. Hank (Ray Romano) is thrilled to see Ruby (Courtney Grosbeck) excited about her school play, but an unexpected encounter with Mark Cyr (Jason Ritter) rocks the boat. Meanwhile, Zeek (Craig T. Zeek's taken to the hospital and his family gather near him, anxiously awaiting news. However, Adam and Crosby must leave to tend to a crisis at their restaurant; and Joel lets Julia lean on him, complicating their confusing relationship even more.

Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) and Camille (Bonnie Bedelia) discover a bundle of old rolls of film, and they ask Max (Max Burkholder) to develop the mysterious photos. Sarah (Lauren Graham) overanalyzes Hank’s (Ray Romano) offer with Julia (Erika Christensen), and the sisters spew their relationship fears. Adam (Peter Krause) decides the future of the Luncheonette with Crosby (Dax Shepard), but Jasmine (Joy Bryant) unexpectedly intervenes.

  

Episode 12 - We Made it Through the Night

Camille (Bonnie Bedelia) and Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) make a decision concerning Zeek's health. Sarah (Lauren Graham) makes a big decision and shares some good news with her dad. Adam (Peter Krause) and Crosby (Dax Shepard) clash over differing business opinions, and Adam stands his ground, deepening the tension between the brothers. In the excitement of her big day, Sarah (Lauren Graham) surrounds herself with the original Braverman clan. Meanwhile, Hank (Ray Romano) approaches Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) for his blessing and asks Drew (Miles Heizer) for a special favor. Amber (Mae Whitman) adjusts to life as a new mom with a little help from her grandparents. Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) get a phone call that forces a life-changing decision. Max (Max Burkholder) gets his first job, while Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Adam (Peter Krause) reach an understanding about the Luncheonette.
