Season 6 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Safe At Home

Larry (MARK LINN-BAKER) has purchased a new stereo chair that is equipped with a backrest with built-in speakers. Jennifer (MELANIE WILSON) and Mary Anne (REBECA ARTHUR) suggest that with such an expensive piece of equipment, Larry should consider buying a burglar alarm. Larry thinks such a purchase would be unnecessary.

  

Episode 2 - New Kid On the Block

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) is on the verge of breaking a big story involving corruption in city government. If he can file his story in time to make the morning edition, his career as a journalist will be enhanced. He tells Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) that he can't be disturbed the rest of the night. But Balki has already agreed to baby-sit nine‑year‑old Tess (ALISAN PORTER), the daughter of a neighbor. Balki assures Larry that he will keep Tess quiet.

  

Episode 3 - The Breakup

When Jennifer (MELANIE WILSON) is asked out by an old college beau, Bill Madden (DAVID SEDERHOLM), she asks Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) if he would mind. Larry, wanting to be a reasonable "man of the '90s," tells her to go on the date. But Jennifer perceives Larry's act of understanding as a lack of interest in her.

  

Episode 4 - A Horse Is a Horse

Larry (MARK LINN-BAKER) wants to buy a racehorse for $2,200 but can only come up with half the money. If he doesn't find a way to pay the other half, he will lose the money he has already put down. He convinces Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) to contribute the other half.

  

Episode 5 - Family Feud

Back in his homeland of Mypos, Balki's (BRONSON PINCHOT) family, the Bartokomouses, have been waging a 500‑year‑old feud with the Botulitises. Now, Zoltan Botulitis (NICHOLAS KADI) is due to arrive in Chicago to fight a duel with Balki.When Zoltan arrives at the apartment, Balki, according to Myposian custom, treats him as a guest. They make arrangements to fight the duel the following day at sunset.

  

Episode 6 - Call Me Indestructible

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) has been given a tough assignment by Wainwright (F.J. O'NEIL), his editor. He has to interview Alvin "Ace" Atkins (KENNETH MARS), a highly decorated Korean war pilot, former test pilot and current owner of an air charter company. Larry is terrified because the assignment calls for him to fly with Ace in one of his planes, and Larry is afraid to fly.

  

Episode 7 - The Men Who Knew Too Much, Pt. 1

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) receives an assignment to go to Los Angeles and cover the wedding of famous soap opera star Marcy Eden (TERESA BOWMAN), who portrays television character Darla Wayne. Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT), Mary Anne (REBECA ARTHUR) and Jennifer (MELANIE WILSON) make arrangements to go with Larry to do some sightseeing.

  

Episode 8 - The Men Who Knew Too Much, Pt. 2

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) receives an assignment to go to Los Angeles and cover the wedding of famous soap opera star Marcy Eden (TERESA BOWMAN), who portrays television character Darla Wayne. Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT), Mary Anne (REBECA ARTHUR) and Jennifer (MELANIE WILSON) make arrangements to go with Larry to do some sightseeing.

  

Episode 9 - The Ring

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) buys a very large diamond engagement ring for Jennifer (MELANIE WILSON) from a sleazy salesman. Jennifer decides to get the ring appraised in order to insure it. Before she can, however, Larry learns that the diamond salesman was arrested for selling phony jewelry.

  

Episode 10 - Black Widow

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) is researching mass murderers for the paper when he spots a newspaper clipping of Mary Anne (REBECA ARTHUR). In the article her name is Mabel Alice Stallings, and she's a mass murderer who has just been acquitted.

  

Episode 11 - The Sunshine Boys

At work Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) meets Bunky (MARK NEELY), a fellow who used to treat him miserably in high school. However, now Bunky seems impressed when Wainwright (F.J. O'NEIL) tells Larry that an article he wrote is Pulitzer Prize material. Bunky invites Larry, Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) and their dates to the exclusive Midtown Club for a formal dinner dance.

  

Episode 12 - Hocus Pocus

Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) practices some magic tricks and asks Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) to attend a charity show with him that evening. One of the acts will be a magician, The Amazing Timmy (NICK LEWIN), who Balki claims is his mentor. Larry refuses to go to the event because he has to write an article for the paper. However, when he accidentally hears that British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher will be attending the show, he changes his mind and promises his boss an interview with her.

  

Episode 13 - Finders Keepers

When Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) finds a box of money containing more than $50,000, he wants to place an ad in a newspaper or go to the police. Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) convinces Balki that the police will only accuse him of taking some of the money and offers to place the ad himself.

  

Episode 14 - Grandpa

When Larry's (MARK LINN‑BAKER) Grandpa Buzz (JOHN ANDERSON) comes to visit, Larry is concerned that his grandfather does not behave as an older gentleman should. Balki thinks Grandpa Buzz is great.

  

Episode 15 - Little Apartment of Horrors

Balki's (BRONSON PINCHOT) mother sends Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) a small green plant with several pods on it that she claims has medicinal value. Despite Larry's misgivings, he eats one of the pods and is instantly cured of his cold. He thinks it's a coincidence until several others are cured of illness by swallowing the pods.

  

Episode 16 - I Saw This On TV

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) lies to Jennifer (MELANIE WILSON) so he can go to a basketball game rather than take her to the ballet. Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) tells him that was a bad idea and launches into an episode of "The Honeymooners" where Ralph Cramden lied to his wife, Alice.

  

Episode 17 - Speak, Memory

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) is petrified when Jennifer (MELANIE WILSON) informs him that her mother, Mrs. Lyons (MARIE ADAMS), is coming to visit and wants to meet Larry at dinner. Mrs. Lyons has hated all of Jennifer's former boyfriends, including a congressman and a surgeon.

  

Episode 18 - Out of Sync

Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) accidentally meets Enright (IAN PATRICK WILLIAMS), a manager and producer of recording artists, including a famous rap star. Balki is a big fan of the rapper and begins to do one of his numbers for Enright.

  

Episode 19 - See How They Run

When Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) decides to run for student body president at the city college he attends, Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) begs to be his campaign manager. Despite Balki's misgivings, he relents but warns Larry not to go overboard.

  

Episode 20 - Climb Every Billboard

Larry's boss, Wainwright (F.J. O'NEIL), tells Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) that he finally liked an idea that Larry suggested on one of the many memos he slipped under his boss's door. The idea is that someone live on a billboard until the Chicago Bulls' losing streak is over. Wainwright expects Larry to find someone to do it or do it himself, despite the fact that it's in the middle of winter.

  

Episode 21 - A Catered Affair

Balki's (BRONSON PINCHOT) new catering business gets off to an excellent start, and Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) encourages Balki to expand. Balki claims he's not ready yet. Larry disagrees and, without Balki's knowledge, books an extra catering job on a night Balki already has one scheduled.

  

Episode 22 - Duck Soup

Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) offers to go duck hunting with his boss, Wainwright (F.J. O'NEIL), and some television anchormen. It seems Wainwright wants to shoot more ducks than the anchormen. Larry claims to be an expert gunman despite the fact that he has never hunted in his life.

  

Episode 23 - Great Balls of Fire

Balki Bartokomous (BRONSON PINCHOT) wants to donate his time as a volunteer fireman. When Larry Appleton (MARK LINN‑BAKER) realizes the experience would make a great "human interest" story, he agrees to volunteer, too.

  

Episode 24 - See You in September

Problems arise when Balki (BRONSON PINCHOT) and Mary Anne (REBECA ARTHUR) persuade Larry (MARK LINN‑BAKER) and Jennifer (MELANIE WILSON) to set a June wedding date. The engaged couple are worried that they may not be perfectly matched for each other, so Balki agrees to administer the traditional "Nupitiki Satiki" or Myposian Marriage Test.
