Episode 1 - Episode One: JoeJoe Marin discovers his seven-year-old son Sam has been taken from the school grounds. After a gut-wrenching search, the boy is recovered by the police, who reveal that his kidnapper is an ex-lover of Joe’s wife Anna, who she claims not to have seen for ten years, alongside a mysterious woman with a connection to Joe.

Episode 2 - Episode Two: AlexSimon’s psychiatrist Alex is drawn into his client’s case, at first by Simon’s call for help, then through his own need to understand why Simon took the child. As Alex burrows deeper, he becomes both frustrated and deeply affected by Simon’s unwavering romanticism, which hits close to home as Alex struggles with his own separation and begins to embark on a romance with his old friend, and Simon’s lawyer, Gina.

Episode 3 - Episode Three: AngelaAngela, racked with guilt over her role in Simon’s arrest, escalates the problem through her misguided attempts to help him. In doing so, Angela also implicates herself, making enemies of the police -- who threaten to expose her identity to the press, putting both her professional and family life in jeopardy.

However, the case faces obstacles as Simon’s parents threaten to pull payment, and Alex’s meddling threatens to damage the case. Taking the stand in court, she makes an unexpected decision, leaving her marriage in jeopardy, and forcing both her and Joe to confront long-simmering issues in their relationship.
