Season 1 Episode Guide
Episode 1 - Episode 1It's the first day of a new trial and Sikh schoolboy Duvinder Singh is accused of the shocking murder of a 15-year-old classmate. The beginning of the trial sees the various members of the jury prepare for the stress of this high profile case. For some it's an honour, a sense of duty; for Charles Gore it's a welcome break from the Seminary where he is in training for the priesthood. In the first few hours he establishes a friendship with Elsie, a 60-year-old loner. |
Episode 2 - Episode 2On the second day of the highly publicised trial, the jurors encounter the media hype and Duvinder suffers abuse at the hands of one of the prison wardens. Marcia's day gets off to a bad start when she reluctantly has to ask her mother for help again. And after a sleepless night, Jeremy finally tells his wife Fiona that he came face to face with the person that wrecked their lives and caused them financial ruin. |
Episode 3 - Episode 3Duvinder is praying in the corner of his cell. It is his first day in the witness box. Rose gets up early, trying not to wake husband Len, and creeps out of the bedroom to pack her bag for another day in court. Unknown to Rose, he is not asleep and has been watching her from the bedroom door - confused, hurt and full of questions. |
Episode 4 - Episode 4The Jury is not a politically correct or simple courtroom drama, it goes further than that. It shows you how complicated life can become for those involved, especially the jurors. In the Young Offenders Prison, Duvinder is taunted about the approaching cross examination by prosecution Q.C Gerald Lewis who is known as 'the bastard of the Bailey'. |
Episode 5 - Episode 5Jeremy takes the boys to school - their clothes are ragged, and he feels ashamed. On the spur of the moment, he phones Mark Waters and tells him he wants to go in on the deal. Mark organises a 90,000 pound loan for him against the value of his flat the money from the shares in the Japanese pharmaceutical company should come through in days. |
Episode 6 - Episode 6Eddie finds Johnnie on the floor of his flat; he's in a terrible state but must pull round for the final day in court. Meanwhile, Rose packs her bag and leaves a distraught Len once and for all. How will he carry on without her? |
