Season 3 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Nobody's Perfect

Soon after Dr. Koblin reports that Tabitha is a perfectly normal baby, Samantha sees a toy pony floating in the air to Tabitha when she wiggles her fingers, and realizes that the baby has inherited her witchcraft. Endora is delighted, but Samantha worries how to break the news to Darrin. Larry Tate brings Mark Robbins, a client, to the Stephens home to dis-cuss a new image for his product - truck transmissions.

  

Episode 2 - Moment of Truth

Samantha still hasn't found the courage to tell Darrin Tabitha is a witch. When the baby, using her witchcraft, turns the living room into a mess, Aunt Clara is sure her own failing powers are responsible. Larry and Louise Tate arrive to help celebrate the Stephens' anniversary. As Tabitha practices her witchcraft in her crib, things start moving in the living room downstairs. Following a toy pony which floats upstairs into the baby's crib, Darrin finally realizes his daughter is a witch, but tries to hide his shock from Samantha. Darrin and Samantha have their hands full trying to keep the Tates from discovering the truth about Tabitha.

  

Episode 3 - Witches and Warlocks Are My Favorite Things

Endora tells Samantha that her aunts are coming to the Stephens' home to test Tabitha's powers of witchcraft. First Aunt Clara comes down the chimney. Then Aunt Hagatha and Aunt Enchantra appear. When Samantha wishes her father were present, Maurice sweeps in. Endora and Maurice quarrel and Maurice leaves for a performance of "Faust," in Vienna. During the test, Tabitha thrills her great-aunts with the display of her powers. Hearing strange voices when he phones, Darrin tells Samantha he is coming home. At that, the phone cord loop itself around Darrin and Larry Tate. When they succeed in freeing themselves and get into the car, it immediately develops four flats.

  

Episode 4 - Accidental Twins

Aunt Clara baby-sits with Tabitha Stephens and Timothy Tate when their parents go to the theatre. She entertains the babies with magic. Peeping through the window, Gladys Kravitz is completely befuddled. Her magic dulled by age, Aunt Clara's spells go awry and suddenly Timothy becomes twins. Aunt Clara can't remember how to undo the spell. Arriving home, Samantha and Darrin are aghast. Frantically, they try to keep the Tates from learning what happened to their baby. Since Larry has to catch an early plane, they persuade the Tates to leave Timothy overnight. The next morning, Louise arrives followed by Larry, whose flight has been delayed.

  

Episode 5 - A Most Unusual Wood Nymph

Gerry O'Toole, a beautiful Irish girl who is a friend of Darrin's aunt arrives for a visit and announces she plans to stay with the Stephens until she gets a job. Samantha is cu-rious when Gerry announces she dislikes cats. She is startled when Gerry re-weaves a hole in Darrin's sweater perfectly. Endora tells Samantha Gerry is a wood nymph - a mortal enemy of witches. Samantha forces Gerry to reveal she come be-cause Darrin's ancestor, Darrin the Bold, slew Rufus the Red in the 14th Century, and that henceforth all his descendants have been cursed.

  

Episode 6 - Endora Moves In for a Spell

Uncle Arthur pops out of a painting in the Stephens home. Samantha tells him she is trying to stop Endora from encouraging Tabitha to use her witchcraft. Uncle Arthur's remark that Endora is an "old crone" brings his sister into the action in a fighting mood. A violent argument erupts and Endora, vowing never to return, leaves. Time passes and Darrin complains about the influence Uncle Arthur is having on Tabitha. When he tells Samantha he?d rather have Endora, his mother-in-law, appears. Pointing to a vacant lot, Endora produces a house and announces she is moving in. Uncle Arthur gestures and the house disappears.

  

Episode 7 - Twitch or Treat

Darrin is incensed when Endora makes a house appear on a vacant lot near the Stephens home for a Halloween party. Uncle Arthur, who is constantly bickering with his sister, arrives. When Samantha begs her mother to remove the house, Endora decides to hold her party in the Stephens home and lavishly transforms the living room. That night, Boris approaches the house with Eva, a black cat. Before entering, he turns the cat into a beautiful woman. Gladys Kravitz phones Councilman Green and insists that he investigate the strange happenings. With champagne and food floating about the room, the party becomes a gala affair.

  

Episode 8 - Dangerous Diaper Dan

Diaper Dan, secretly working for the A.J. Kimberly Adver-tising Agency, gives Samantha a baby rattle. As the rattle is bugged, Dan is able to tape all the conversation at the Stephens home. Samantha., proud of Darrin's creative ability, describes his ad campaigns to Endora. Day tapes it on the recording equipment in his truck. Larry Tate and Darrin are stunned when Mr. Wright, their new client, reveals that two of their ideas have already been presented by the Kimberly Agency. They tear their office apart searching for a hidden mike. Samantha is angry. when Darrin tells her she might be responsible for the leak.

  

Episode 9 - The Short Happy Circuit of Aunt Clara

The Stephens are invited to the Tate home to meet a client, Mr. MacElroy, who manufactures shoes. Darrin agrees to let Aunt Clare babysit when Samantha tells him Aunt Clara is sad because she has lost her boy friend, Ocky, to a younger witch. Trying to get Tabitha to sleep, Aunt Clara decides to bring the piano upstairs. She reduces it to toy size, but it grows as she carries it, and she gets stuck on the stairs. Aunt Clara tries another spell and all the lights go out. Upset when Abner Kravitz reports the whole Eastern Seaboard is blacked out, Aunt Clara summons Ocky for help.

  

Episode 10 - I'd Rather Twitch Than Fight

Darrin is furious when Samantha gives his orange and green checked sport jacket, bought before he was married, to Good Will. Larry and Louise Tate have been seeing Dr. Kramer, a psychiatrist who specializes in teaching married couples how to fight. Larry tells Darrin that the jacket, a symbol of Darrin's carefree bachelor days, represents a threat to Samantha. Meanwhile, Louise, lectures Samantha, emphasizing the importance of clothing and the gifts married couples exchange. Hoping to mend matters, Samantha uses magic and retrieves Darrin's jacket. Darrin, acting on Larry's opinion that sensible clothes imply happiness sad security, buys Samantha a drab bathrobe. Darrin and Samantha each feel the gifts indicate a dissatisfaction with their marriage and the rift widens.

  

Episode 11 - Oedipus Hex

Samantha agrees to serve on a fund raising committee. Later, she tells Endora she wishes Darrin would forget about business now and then. Endora flicks her fingers and a bowl of popcorn appears. Darrin eats a handful and announces he's taking the day off. The milkman nibbles some popcorn and de-cides to join Darrin. Larry Tate phones and is incensed when Darrin declares he's not going to the office. Arriving to check, harry takes some popcorn and joins Darrin and she milkman in a game of stud poker.

  

Episode 12 - Sam's Spooky Chair

Shopping for antiques, Samantha is intrigued by an old chair which moves about to catch her attention. She buys the chair end goes home to prepare dinner for the Tates, Max Cos-grove, an agency client, and his domineering wife, Adelaide. Larry and Darrin hope to get Max to renew his contract during dinner but are continually foiled by. Adelaide. The chair, seems to take a dislike to Darrin and tries to kick him, but Adelaide insists on having it. Yielding to Darrin's pleas, Samantha sells the chair to Adelaide, who decides Max will sign the contract in the morning.

  

Episode 13 - My Friend Ben

Finding Samantha struggling to repair a lamp, Aunt Clara uses her uncertain powers of magic to summon an electrician. Benjamin Franklin, in l8th century clothes, appears. Samantha is upset by Ben's presence and Aunt Clara's wail that she can't remember how to undo the spell. Darrin, astonished by Ben's appearance in his home, can't convince Larry Tate that Ben is not is creation for an advertising campaign for Franklin Elec-tronics. Abner Kravitz refuses to believe Gladys' report that the real Ben Franklin is at the Stephens'.

  

Episode 14 - Samantha for the Defense

Summing up "My Friend Ben" Samantha tells how Aunt Clara, trying to summon an electrician to fix a lamp, produces Ben Franklin instead. Ben is arrested for stealing a fire engine. Aunt Clara makes Ben disappear just after Darrin puts up a thousand dollars bail to guaranty Ben's appearance at the trial. Assistant DA Chuck Hawkins feels Ben's appearance is a publicity stunt. He tells Darrin that Ben, or whoever he is, will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Aunt Clara finally manages to bring Ben back. Darrin tells Ben his trial for stealing the engine will be held in two days. Samantha and Aunt Clara go to work to turn public opinion in favor of Ben. The prosecution produces a series of witnesses. Most of their testimony, calculated to damage Ben's case is skillfully refuted by Ben himself, but he feels that Darrin and Gladys Kravitz have weakened his cause.

  

Episode 15 - A Gazebo Never Forgets

Samantha tells Aunt Clara she plans to get a bank loan in order to tear down the gazebo and build a rumpus room. At the park, Tabitha fancies another baby's toy elephant and twitches it over. Before Samantha can return it, the child's mother accuses her of being a toy snatcher. At the bank, Mr. Scranton learns that Darrin works for MacMahon and Tate. Since his brother is president of one of the firm's biggest accounts, Scranton approves the loan, but sends Hawkins to appraise the Stephens property just as a formality. At home, Tabitha de-mands a toy elephant.

  

Episode 16 - Soapbox Derby

Samantha helps twelve year old Johnny Mills get his Soap Box Derby Racer to the practice area. Gladys Kravitz boasts that her nephew Flash will sweep the local contests and go on to win the finals at Akron. When Johnny's wheel wobbles, Samantha giggles her nose end Gladys accuses her of helping him. Samantha learns that Johnny?s father, a hardworking garage owner, is determined that nothing will, stop his son from going to medical school. Fearing his father's disapproval, Johnny has secretly built his racer and asks Samantha's help in getting his father to sign the entry blank. Samantha accomplishes this, by magic, but he refuses to attend the race. At the track, Gladys and Darrin watch Samantha closely, to be sure she doesn't help Johnny.

  

Episode 17 - Sam In the Moon

Darrin asks Samantha to loin him in watching moon pictures on TV, but she replies she's already been there. Then Endora takes Samantha shopping in Tokyo. She buys some unique tea from Watanabe, a Japanese warlock. Darrin asks Larry Tate what a person knowing an inexpensive way to reach the moon should do. He replies it would be that person's patriotic duty to inform the authorities. On Samantha's return, Darrin asks where she has been and refuses to believe she's been in Japan. However, he accepts her annoyed explanation that she?s been on another trip to the moon.

  

Episode 18 - Ho Ho the Clown

Darrin's client, the Solow Toy Company, sponsors HoHo the Clown on TV. Samantha and Endora take Tabitha to the studio to see the show. HoHo announces all the prizes in the HoHo. Hope Chest will go to the holder of the lucky badge. Endora is outraged when Samantha tells her that Tabitha is ineligible be-cause she is related to Darrin. Endora puts a hex on HoHo, who gives Tabitha all the prizes and tells the producer she must appear on the show with him. When Samantha refuses to allow Tabitha on the show, Larry threatens to fire Darrin. In the sponsor's booth, Mr. Solow is angry that HoHo has changed the format of the show and performing only for Tabitha. Learning that Tabitha is getting all the prizes, Solow demands to know who she is because she is ruining the show.

  

Episode 19 - Super Car

workshop, the designers find the model they have been working on has disappeared. Darrin tells Samantha he can't accept a product of witchcraft, but convinced that Endora's feelings will be hurt, he keeps the car and falls in love with it. At the office, Larry is in conference with Mr. Sheldrake, a meat packer. Darrin phones Larry to come over and see his new car.

  

Episode 20 - The Corn Is As High As a Guernsey's Eye

Aunt Clara is depressed by her waning magic. Larry Tate tells Darrin to forget the Morton Milk account since the Whittle Agency plans to display Ginger, the Morton's famous Guernsey cow in the lobby of the office building. Samantha hopes to cheer up Aunt Clara at lunch with Darrin, while Louise Tate minds Tabitha. Samantha goes off on an errand, leaving Aunt Clara in the lobby. Henerson, a policeman, forbids Culpepper , the deliveryman, to bring Ginger into the building. While they go off to phone, Barney, the elevator boy, sees Aunt Clara talking to a potted plant and suggests talking to the cow.

  

Episode 21 - The Trial and Error of Aunt Clara

Aunt Clara chooses Samantha to defend her when she goes on trial to decide if she should be banished from the witches community, because she is losing her magic Larry stops by at the Stephens' home to pick up some papers for Darrin. Practicing basic witchcraft, Aunt Clara tries to levitate a pencil into a desk drawer just as Larry arrives. The desk, out of Aunt Clara's control, pops out of the room. Samantha gasps when she finds it on the stairs, drawers open, and papers strewn everywhere. While Aunt Clara hastily stuffs papers into the file, Samantha distracts Larry by asking advice about Tabitha?s college career.

  

Episode 22 - Three Wishes

After Darrin tells Samantha he wishes he weren't going to Hawaii on a business trip without her, Endora feels he's up to something and gives him three wishes to prove it. At the office, Darrin's wish comes true when he learns that Larry is going to Hawaii instead. When Darrin announces he must escort Buffy Baker, a beautiful bathing suit model, to a business luncheon and cocktail party, Endora, smirking, eagerly awaits his next wish. Darrin reports he must fly to Boston with Buffy on business, but will be home in time for dinner. Late that night, Darrin phones that a freak snowstorm has grounded all planes.

  

Episode 23 - I Remember You...Sometimes

Embarrassed when he forgets a client's name, Darrin buys a book to improve his memory. Endora slyly casts a spell on his watch so that when he wears it, Darrin has a perfect memory. Ed Pennybaker, a client, prides himself on his vast knowledge, but Darrin tops him every time. When Darrin takes off his watch, he forgets things, but doesn't get the connection. Samantha invites the Pennybakers and the Tates to dinner. Ed displays his expertise on every subject, but Darrin easily outshines him. Samantha realizes that Darrin may antagonize an important client. She tries to stop him but fails.

  

Episode 24 - Art for Sam's Sake

Samantha paints a picture for a charity exhibit. Unimpressed, Endora replaces it with a Henry Monchet, currently on view at Jacques? Gallery in New York. At the office, Darrin completes a perfume ad layout for Mr. Cunningham, who considers himself an art connoisseur. At the amateur exhibit, Samantha, Darrin and Cunningham find that the entry with Samantha's signature has won first prize and will be auctioned off for charity. Darrin and Samantha feel sick, knowing it isn't her work and Samantha recog-nizes the signature as Endora's handwriting. To prevent Cunning-ham from buying the picture, Darrin bids against him in the auction.

  

Episode 25 - Charlie Harper, Winner

Episode 26 - Aunt Clara's Victoria Victory

Soon after Darrin leaves town on business, Mr. Morgan, a domineering client, arrives. Samantha tells Aunt Clara that Morgan is still living in the Victorian Age. Aunt Clara fondly recalls her days as lady-in-waiting to the Queen and tries to return there. Instead, Queen Victoria and her throne pop into the Stephens' living room. When, Mr. Morgan demands to meet Samantha, because he judges a man by his wife. Larry comes to alert Samantha, and is bewildered by the Queen. Samantha explains she is an aunt who thinks she is Queen Victoria. Larry begs her to keep the Queen out of Morgan's sight. Samantha and Aunt Clara manage to hide the queen for awhile, but Morgan finally sees her. He takes it in stride, because he had a cousin who thought he was the Liberty Bell.

  

Episode 27 - The Crone of Cawdor

Samantha and Darrin plan to lunch at La Bella Donna to celebrate the anniversary of their first date. Then Darrin encounters Terry Warbell, a pretty brunette, who handles the advertising for her father's dress firm. Samantha and Endora see Darrin drive off with Terry. At the office, Terry is more interested in Darrin than in advertising. When Larry threatens to fire Darrin unless he takes Terry to lunch, Darrin cancels his date with Samantha. Meanwhile, a ragged old hag tells Gladys Kravitz her name is Terry Warbell, and she's only 24 years old.

  

Episode 28 - No More Mr. Nice Guy

Darrin blows up when Endora teaches Tabitha witchcraft. Samantha remarks that everyone but Endora finds Darrin likeable. Endora's magic changes all that. Frank Eastwood comes to the office to create a new image for the mayor. Endora's spell makes him dislike Darrin. Larry is stunned when Eastwood decides he can't give them the account because of Darrin. Gloria Adam, a stunning model, accuses Darrin of making a pass. Horace Baldwin, plans an ad campaign for a new blanket. Again Darrin does nothing right and Baldwin stomps out of the office.

  

Episode 29 - It's Wishcraft

Worried that Tabitha will make her toys fly around during his parents' visit, Darrin warns Samantha not to leave his parents alone with the baby. When Darrin suddenly finds himself near Tabitha's crib, Samantha reveals that Tabitha can now conjure up people into her presence. Samantha asks her mother to help pre-vent Tabitha from displaying her powers to Darrin's parents. Endora and Mrs. Stephens dislike each other on sight and start trading insults. Darrin?s father, however, likes Endora. Mrs. Stephens feels there is friction between Darrin and Samantha because Endora keeps her from being alone with Tabitha and shows contempt for Darrin.

  

Episode 30 - How to Fail In Business with All Kinds of Help

Darrin is sure his campaign for Madam Marushka lipstick will earn a bonus. Endora sarcastically remarks that he needs more than mere encouragement. Larry and Darrin hope the lipstick campaign will persuade Archie Wilkerson, the advertising manager, to give them the whole cosmetic account. Endora puts a spell on Wilkerson, so that he is entranced by Darrin but ignores Larry. When Darrin learns what Endora has done, he is furious. At the office, Madam Marushka, a mature, attractive and aggressive busi-ness woman, insists that Darrin be made a member of the firm. When she mispronounces his name, Darrin, sure she is Endora in disguise, orders her out. Darrin rushes to confront Endora. He is in despair when Samantha, always truthful, insists that Endora never left her side.

  

Episode 31 - Bewitched, Bothered and Infurated

Using her fading powers, Aunt Clara gets the next day's newspaper and reads that Larry Tate has broken his leg. Although Larry and Louise are on a second honeymoon and made sure no one knows where they are, Darrin decides he must ward off the accident. Samantha's magic transports them to the Tate's hotel. The manager and the Tates almost go crazy as Samantha and Darrin constantly interpose themselves between Larry and any mishaps that might befall him. Darrin leaves to meet a client. Samantha guards Larry but has to stop at the door of the men's steam room. Larry at last feels alone but finds Darrin, alerted by Samantha under a towel next to him.

  

Episode 32 - Nobody But a Frog Knows How to Live

Annoyed when Fergus F. Finglehoff follows her around the park, Samantha twitches him into a pool. He emerges ecstatic that she proved his suspicion she's a witch and demands she change him back into a frog. Samantha explains only the witch who changed him can do that. Darrin is puzzled when Fergus answers the phone but Samantha can't stop bringing home guests for cocktails. When Samantha introduces Fergus to Gladys as a friend of Darrin's, he tells her he's a frog. Gladys runs off screaming and Samantha twitches Fergus back to the pool. He returns and threatens to expose Samantha as a witch unless she helps him. Darrin arrives with his guests, Larry, Louise and Saunders, a soup manufacturer. Gladys drags Abner over to prove Fergus told her he was a frog.

  

Episode 33 - There's Gold In Them Thar Pills

When Samantha tells Endora she can't go shopping unless Darrin's cold gets better, her mother produces Dr. Bombay. Although the doctor protests treating a mortal, he gives Darrin a pill and the cold disappears. When Larry's cold is immediately cured by one of the pills, he sees millions in them, as partner of. Mr. Hornbeck owns a drug company. Dr. Bombay shows no interest in making a fortune or serving humanity, but intrigued by having his name and picture on bottles in millions of bathrooms, grants Larry and Darrin the right to market his pills. When one of Dr. Bombay's pills produces a miraculous recovery for Mr. Hornbeck, he is happy to take Larry end Darrin in as partners.
