Season 2 Episode Guide
Episode 1 - Peaks and ValleysAfter Jon and Ponch stop a speeding sports car, they arrive at the scene of a camper driven by Bob Niles (guest star Troy Donahue), which has crashed over the side of a hill. In other action, Ponch is the star performer at a disco party. While there, a lady goes into labor and the cops have to deliver a baby.

Episode 2 - The VolunteersJon and Ponch escort a truck loaded with volatile chemicals over remote mountain roads because the citizens of the town along the direct route will not allow the dangerous convoy to pass through.

Episode 3 - Family CrisisJon worries when his nephew falls in with a gang of unruly teenagers who joyride in stolen automobiles. And two jewelry thieves use a movie stunt car for their getaways, but the car is rigged to shoot off smoke, oil and fire. Danny Bonaduce guest stars.

Episode 4 - Disaster SquadA television news crew creates bad publicity for Ponch and Jon when they air edited news segments making the officers look bad.

Episode 5 - Neighborhood WatchPonch and Jon encounter the same speeding drunk driver on several occassions and must deal with a group of skateboarding kids who cannot stay out of trouble.

Episode 6 - Trick or TrickIt's Halloween night, and Jon and Ponch investigate the disappearance of a little boy in a haunted house. In other action during the night, a "ghost" robs supermarkets and a mysterious woman steals candy from trick-or-treating kids in the neighborhood. Bobby Van and Fran Ryan guest star.

Episode 7 - High FlyerJon has his hands full with an impressionable teenage girl who runs away--to his house. Meanwhile, Ponch tries to tame his fear of flying long enough to ride in a police helicopter. And the two CHP officers pursue an overloaded van only to find that it is jammed with the Los Angeles Rams cheerleaders on their way to a game at the Coliseum.

Episode 8 - The GrudgeAfter being caught with marijuana, two fraternity brothers plot revenge against the officers who arrested them--Ponch and Jon.

Episode 9 - The SheikA young sheik uses his diplomatic immunity and bribery to try to get ouf of several speeding violations.

Episode 10 - Return of the TurksA pair of Ponch's former high school buddies try to relive their past by hot-rodding around town and manage to put him in an embarrassing situation.

Episode 11 - SupercycleJon and Ponch try to identify the "phantom," whose daredevil stunts on a souped-up motorcycle are played out at the risk of innocent people.

Episode 12 - High ExplosiveJon tries to play surrogate father to a lonely boy who caused an accident by firing an air rifle near an expressway.

Episode 13 - Down TimePonch's vacation plans are ruined when a gang of female car thieves steals his beloved, newly rebuilt Firebird. In addition, Jon's wallet is stolen as a relentless streak of bad luck afflicts the duo.

Episode 14 - Repo ManAn unscrupulous collection agent tries to destroy Ponch and Jon's credit rating after they prevent him from harassing private citizens.

Episode 15 - MAIT TeamJon and Ponch join a Multi-discipline Accident Investigation Team to find out the cause of a chain of highway accidents that has killed 11 people and involved an out-of-control car.

Episode 16 - Pressure PointJon and Ponch go undercover to investigate a protection racket. Jon poses as a South American diplomat, and Ponch acts as his chauffeur as the two CHP officers attempt to solve an illegal operation that is milking a wealthy man (guest star Rudy Vallee) and his daughter (guest star Mary Frances Crosby).

Episode 17 - The MatchmakersJon and Ponch are matchmakers for two lonely people: an officer forced to retire and a widow pressured by the city to move.

Episode 18 - Rally 'Round the BankWhile investigating a string of drive-in-bank robberies, Ponch is baffled by a visit from his mother.

Episode 19 - Bio-RhythmsWhile Jon and Ponch take part in a department bio-rhythms study, Ponch's lady-trucker friend is feeling threatened by hoods trying to muscle her out of business.

Episode 20 - QuarantineA young hitchhiker with a bomb succumbs to a rare illness after being taken into custody by Jon and Ponch, putting the CHP headquarters on a quarantine alert.

Episode 21 - CHP BMXDistracted by his son's accident, Sgt. Getraer mistakenly releases a narcotics suspect.

Episode 22 - Ride the WhirlwindJon and Ponch encounter unruly dirt bikers, a clandestine PCP operation and a macho city councilman showing off on the hillsides when they volunteer as members of a pilot trail bike team.

Episode 23 - The Greatest Adventures of CHiPsWhile Ponch and Jon are away attending a seminar, their fellow officers reminisce about their greatest adventures of the previous two years while planning a special award for the two CHiPs heroes. Special guest star Robbie Rist.
