Episode 18 - In the Best of FamiliesAttempts to steal Highway Patrol vehicles not only result in total destruction of two cars following high-speed chases, but also cause a rash of problems at CHP Central. The crimes also spark a series of related incidents which ultimately effect the entire CHiPs team before Jon and Ponch discover that the seemingly unrelated incidents are part of an elaborate robbery scheme. Episode 19 - Silent PartnerA pair of bumbling car thieves create havoc for the CHP officers. Jon and Ponch mistake a hearing- and speech-impaired motorist for a drunk driver.

Episode 20 - Flare UpPonch's job is on the line when he is accused of brutality by a former juvenile delinquent. Ponch and Jon must put their recently acquired knowledge of handling toxic chemical spills to the test when a chemical tanker overturns.

Jon and Ponch spot a subplot in the tactical jousting when it becomes apparent the games have been invented to free a prisoner being transported out of state. Clu Gulager and Michael Dorn guest star.

Ponch and Jon take to the high seas to capture the outlaws involved in a computer theft plot. Series star Robert Pine directs.

Episode 26 - K-9-1Jon and Ponch discover the value of trained police dogs when the officers are assigned to a canine training unit seminar. A dog, blinded in a bomb explosion, helps stop some thieves and recover their drugs.
