Episode 1 - End of the RoadAs winter closes in, the quest for sustenance becomes essential as Alaskans fight to stay ahead of the season. In Noorvik, Chip and Agnes Hailstone race against Mother Nature in a dangerous quest to set whitefish nets on thin ice. North of Eagle, Kate and Andy break trail through towers of ice to gain access to their lifeline--the Yukon River. Across the state, Erik is on a vital hunt for red meat. Meanwhile Sue Aikens is in Fairbanks, fervently awaiting the green light from her doctor to escape city life and return home to the North Slope.

Episode 2 - Hunt, Barter and StealAs deep winter sets in, Alaskans living in the remote bush must gather and manage scarce resources to ensure their survival. In isolated Kavik, Sue Aikens returns to camp to find that thieves have pilfered her winter fuel supply. Meanwhile in Noorvik, Chip and Agnes Hailstone are unable to access their hunting grounds. In Eagle, Andy Bassich and his wife Kate face a crisis with their team of malamutes. And in Wiseman, Erik Salitan sets out to catch dinner but returns home with more than he bargained for.

Episode 3 - Winter's EdgeIn the depth of winter, Alaskans living in the remote bush fight to ready themselves for their darkest days. In Kavik, Sue struggles through a blizzard that threatens her life and the camp she’s responsible for. In Weisman, Erik tends to the arduous task of getting wood and water as well as readying his cabin for the Alaskan winter. In Eagle, Andy makes a final push to forge a trail for much needed supplies. In Noorvik, Chip and Agnes take a window of opportunity to replenish their food supply with valuable caribou.

Episode 4 - Wolf At the DoorMechanical breakdowns and invading predators threaten survival as four end-of-roaders battle the dark Alaskan winter. In Kavik, Sue’s become the prey when a predator invades her camp. In Noorvik, a broken snow machine causes Chip’s life to grind to a halt. In Wiseman, Erik hunts for fur in order to buy fuel. Near Eagle, a simple task of getting wood on his snow machine leaves Andy stranded miles from home.

Episode 5 - Blood, Sweat and FearA fierce winter storm threatens Sue's all important fuel supply, and Erik struggles to capture a thieving wolf. In Noorvik, Chip and his family resort to “rabbit driving” to get meat after a largely unsuccessful winter hunting season. In Eagle, puppy Jack is tested to see if he has what it takes to make the sled team.

Episode 6 - There Be MonstersKate joins Andy out in the wilderness for a challenging day of collecting lumber for their homestead. After a day filled with frustrations, Andy surprises Kate with a quick getaway to celebrate her birthday. In Noorvik, Chip and Agnes are working together on a major hunt that could determine their livelihood for the coming year. They'll use the tactics of Agnes' Inupiat ancestors in hopes of getting a leg up.

Episode 7 - Cold, Dark and AloneWinter in Kavik offers few hunting opportunities for Sue, but a group of ptarmigan provides a target rich environment. In Wiseman Erik, crashes his snow machine and is forced to abandon his trap lines and make an unscheduled trip to Fairbanks for repairs. Andy leaves Calico for a few days, leaving Kate alone to manage the duties required to run their homestead. Chip and Agnes discover a trip-altering fuel leak on their way to the hunting grounds.

Episode 8 - CheckmateIn Kavik, Sue wakes up to a strange noise and must scout her perimeter for likely predators. Andy leaves Eagle for a trip across the Taylor Highway to tow his newly bought sawmill home, battling dangerous snowdrifts along the way. Chip and Agnes continue their quest for caribou at the hunting grounds. Erik suddenly abandons his trap lines when he spots a spruce grouse.

Episode 9 - The ChaseAfter realizing she’s low on meat, Sue encounters unexpected dangers when she ventures deep into the tundra around Kavik in order to catch a moose. In Wiseman, Erik’s attempt at ice fishing turns into a deadly scrap with the local wildlife. In Deering, Chip and Agnes go head to head against a cunning wolf. And in Eagle, Andy and Kate prepare for the river to break up as it threatens to destroy their homestead.

Episode 10 - Hell and High WaterOn the brink of losing everything she's worked for, Sue travels to Fairbanks, to officially buy her precious Kavik River Camp or else she will be left alone in the cold. Moments before what could possibly be the worst spring breakup of the season, Andy and Kate must move their dogs to an alternate location, or they will die in the flood. In Wiseman, Erik prepares for grizzly hunting season by renting out his property to fellow hunters and guides.
