Episode 1 - A Brother's Story

Brother and sister, Jerry Sloop and Debra Hall in Marion, IN, have been on a quest to find their half-brother, Michael David Peterson, for almost 40 years. Due to the hospitalization of their mother, the family was forced to part ways. At the age of five and six, Jerry and Debra were sent to stay with their birth father. Michael, two years-old at the time, remained with his birth father, David Peterson. Shortly thereafter, David took Michael to Salt Lake City, UT and no one has seen them since. After several failed attempts to find Michael using private investigators, Jerry and Debra reached out to Troy, as they and their ailing mother are desperate to reconnect with Michael for the first time in almost 40 years.

  

Episode 2 - Katie's Last Hope

Adopted when she was a baby, Katie grew up in Minnesota and has always wanted to meet her birth family. She knows that her birth mother's name is Kathy and that she had two other girls - Alicia and Portia. Katie feels as though finding her birth family will help her answer the questions she has about her background. Now an independent woman at 29 years old, Katie lives in Scottsdale, AZ studying criminology to become a crime scene investigator. Troy gives Katie the surprise of her life when he finds Kathy in Garland, TX. Will this meeting help Katie get the answers she’s been seeking?

  

Episode 3 - Brother's Lost & Found

In 1969, Kelly, at that time, a young girl pregnant with her first son, Christopher, made the difficult decision to give him to a couple who could provide him with a better life. She knew nothing of the adopted parents, other than the fact that they had other children. A few years later, she met her future husband, and they had a son, Ricardo. Kelly told Ricardo about his half brother around the time he entered the first grade. Ricardo is now the morning deejay on KPTY 93.3 in Houston, TX. He has been married for 10 years and has two children. Ricardo would like to meet his brother and establish a relationship with him since he grew up an only child longing for a brother. Christopher, whose parents raised him as Brock, is now married with five children and is a Technical Sergeant for the California Air National Guard, stationed in San Jose, CA. He tried to search for his birth family for many years, but nothing ever turned up. Until now.

  

Episode 4 - Stolen Kisses

Angel Fox from Tacoma, WA, gave birth to identical twins, Tylor and Taylor Neil, when she was 16 years old. After her marriage broke up with Jack, who’s 24 years her senior, he gained custody of their children. Angel visited regularly for the first three years of their lives, but then moved to Eugene, OR after their third birthday and was not able to be in touch as much as before. Months later, she learned that Jack had moved the family, taking the children to an unknown location. Angel was devastated and tried to track them down on her own, but to no avail. Four years ago, she connected with Jack’s daughter from a previous marriage who told her the boys were adopted by a family friend. This was the first time since the twins were three that Angel had heard any information about them. Angel reached out to Troy saying that she “feel(s) the empty holes in me. Every year that goes by is another year that I let them down.” Troy and his team located the twin boys in Puyallup, WA. Will they be interested in reuniting with their biological mother?

  

Episode 5 - A Wife's Gift

Over thirty years ago, John Reed and his three sisters were placed in a foster home in Missoula, MT after it was determined they were victims of neglect by their birth mother, Norma Jean Gaskin. Shortly thereafter, John and his older sister Monica (ages four and seven at the time) were both taken in by Eddie and Eva Reed, who raised them until adulthood. Sadly, their two younger sisters, Lola Dessman and Nicole Gaskin (ages two and one at the time), were adopted separately by another family. John is now married with five children. His wife, Kristi, has tried on several occasions to locate John’s sisters with no luck. In an effort to surprise John on their 16th wedding anniversary, Kristi submitted her husband’s case to Troy. Will Kristi’s 15 year search finally come to an end, and will John get the surprise of a lifetime?

  

Episode 6 - A Daughter's Tears

Jaclyn got pregnant at 21, but she was not married to the father of her child. Her father Mark, a devout Catholic, turned his back on her and changed his numbers. Jaclyn was devastated. Jaclyn's parents met in Germany. Her father was in the military. Three years after Jaclyn was born, they divorced. Jaclyn didn't see him again until she was 13 and flew out to California to spend a week with him. When she was 21, their contact dropped off. Jaclyn would like the chance to tell her father that she is getting her life together. She's married and has two children, a boy and a girl. She is taking classes online at University of Phoenix. Her husband works on base in aviation at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC and is an officer in the military. Will Troy be able to locate him?

  

Episode 7 - 25 Years Later

Annie and Nicole met at age 14 while in their Phoenix, AZ high school and became instant friends. Each was dealing with a turbulent home life and were labeled as “bad girls,” and they eventually became runaways. After a year spent touring with a rock band and working as lingerie models, Annie and Nicole ended up in San Francisco in juvenile detention where they were ultimately separated when Annie’s father bailed Nicole out, but not Annie, in order to teach his daughter a bizarre lesson. Almost a quarter century later, Annie has become an accomplished artist and teacher. She is married with two children and has been sober for over 12 years. Annie wants to reunite with Nicole to show her the kind of woman she’s become. Annie hopes that like herself, Nicole has been able to make a good life from the wreckage of her adolescence. Will they find Nicole’s whereabouts?

  

Episode 8 - A Mother's Last Wish

When Carolyn Funk from Joplin, MO learned she was pregnant with her second child, she left her abusive husband, Donald, and took her daughter, Cassie, then 3 years old, to her mother’s in Missouri. Three months after the baby sadly died of SIDS, she moved back in with Donald. But turmoil ensued and Donald took off with Cassie to Greenville, NC and filed for divorce with full custody of Cassie. Carolyn had no means to support herself and was forced to live on the street and in shelters. Donald was awarded full custody of Cassie. Carolyn was able to stay in touch with Cassie, but after Cassie turned 12, the contact stopped. After ten years of unanswered letters and disconnected phone numbers, Carolyn was convinced she was never going to see her daughter again. Today, Carolyn lives in Grand Lake, OK with her husband of four years. She is undergoing chemotherapy for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. She wants to see her daughter again and also alert her about the hereditary disease. Cassie, currently a student at Clemson University in South Carolina, always held onto the memory of her mother. She had no idea that Carolyn had been trying to connect with her for all of these years.

  

Episode 9 - A Mother's Hope

Sandra Ashman, 52, is searching for her younger sister, Jennie Lorensen. However, Sandra only found out she has a sister at the age of 25 after reading about it in her mother’s diary. Penny Palmer (Sandra’s mother), gave Jennie Lorensen up for adoption but still kept Sandra and her two older half-brothers because she was in an unsteady relationship and could not bear the thought of raising four children on her own. Penny now has cancer and has been given only a few months to live. Jennie Lorensen lives in rural Etna, CA, where she works at a ministry ranch as an administrative assistant. She lives on the ranch with her husband, Ken, and their ten year-old daughter, Sara. Jennie found out she was adopted from one her cousins when she was five years-old. Will Jennie be interested in reuniting with her biological mother, and what will Jennie think when she learns she has a sister?

  

Episode 10 - A God Daughter's Dream

31-year-old Samantha Johnson is seeking her godmother, Hattie Scales. Her parents were in the military while Samantha was growing up, and she spent the majority of her time with her godmother. Hattie remarried and moved away when Samantha was 14, and they never saw one another again. Seventeen years later, Samantha lives in Sacramento, CA and still feels as though she lost her own mother. She wants to find Hattie to rebuild the close relationship they once shared. Hattie now has 2 sons of her own and describes Samantha as “the daughter I never had.”
