What seems to be a routine investigation for the Heelers turns into an ownership dispute over a goldmine, and turns into a much more serious affair for Maggie and PJ.

When Maggie helps her brother kick his heroin addiction, her work and relationships suffer. Unable to concentrate on an investigation into a spate of cat burglaries.

The Heelers' attempts to bust the drug trade in Mount Thomas are complicated by the coincidence that Maggie's brother works for the supposed supplier.

When PJ suspects Monica Draper of covering up a crime, a shocking secret is revealed. Following a high speed car chase, Dean Hartley is involved in an accident and confesses to being the driver.

Nick is forced to face up to a long-standing grievance against his family when his father causes a car accident.
