Vernon gets involved with Dilys a frisky widow who has a natural spring in her back garden, which they plan to bottle as 'Aidensfield Spring Water'. Mike investigates a Sutton, a cattle auctioneer whom Jackie is courting for business. When Sutton slips Mike money a furious Mike confronts Sutton, who has photographic evidence of him apparently accepting the bribe. Craddock is informed and Mike is suspended. Jackie defends Mike in front of Craddock attacking the sergeant for his apparent lack of support for his officer. Jackie tells Mike that she is stifled by life in Aidensfield.
