Season 4 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - And the Dark Secret

In Rome, two workers unearth a mysterious ancient map in a church and turn it over to a secret sect of the Vatican known as the Heretic Order of Shadows. Back at the Library, Jenkins is preparing the Librarians for a tethering ceremony rehearsal. Because Charlene and Judson no longer tether the Library to humanity, Flynn and Baird are going to step into their immortal shoes and dedicate themselves as its eternal protectors. The rehearsal, however, is not exactly going as planned: Flynn's late, the other Librarians aren't taking it seriously, and then an ominous tone rings out - one of the four cornerstones to the Library of Alexandria has been unearthed in Niagara Falls.

Episode 2 - And the Steal of Fortune

When Stone takes Ezekiel to see an old friend at the racetrack/casino, he's expecting to get away from the headaches associated with being a Librarian. Once Stone and Ezekiel get to the racetrack, however, it quickly starts to feel like they haven't gotten a break from being Librarians at all. When Stone's friend, Slayton, loses his prize racehorse on a bet and is injured in a freak accident, they chalk it up to bad luck. Once they get to the hospital and find that the whole emergency room is full of victims of "freak accidents," all of whom were patrons of the same racetrack/casino, well… this sounds like a job for the Librarians.

Episode 3 - And the Christmas Thief

This year, Santa has invited Flynn, Baird, and Jenkins along with him to his well-deserved vacation in the Caribbean. He leaves the other Librarians with his sleigh, under the condition that they NOT touch it. With Flynn and Baird gone, Cassandra and Stone prepare to let loose with a "wild" Christmas party - at least as wild as Cassandra can imagine. When they try to involve Ezekiel, however, he's nowhere to be found. Ezekiel's snuck off to visit his family in Australia. The Joneses have their own holiday tradition, an ancient thieves' holiday called Thankstaking Day.

Episode 4 - And the Silver Screen

Baird and Flynn take a rare night off to go on a date and head to a revival theatre where one of Baird's favourite film noirs is playing. They're settling into a classic yarn when… they find themselves trapped within the movie! The Librarians wonder where their teammates have gotten off to, and they wind up on the case. Of course, there must be an artefact involved, but first and foremost this is a rescue mission. Stone, Ezekiel, and Cassandra attempt to use the door to get into Baird and Flynn's noir, but it malfunctions and sends them off to B-Movies playing elsewhere in the theatre!

Episode 5 - And the Bleeding Crown

A small town turns geriatric overnight. Everyone, from babies on up, is now in their eighties. Just as the Librarians are getting into their investigative groove, however, they run into a Librarian from the past. It's Darrington Dare, the most dashing Librarian of the Victorian era and Flynn's personal hero.

Episode 6 - And the Graves of Time

One morning, the Librarians realise that Baird is… missing? Halfway across the world, Baird is in an English mortuary, where she runs into Nicole Noone! Nicole's long years of immortality required her to fake her death every twenty years or so, and she developed a habit of hiding belongings and artefacts she might need again in her old graves. Baird was aware of this habit and used the knowledge to track Nicole down, hoping to bring her back to the Library.

Episode 7 - And the Disenchanted Forest

The Librarians are rocked by Flynn's decision to leave, and Baird is worried that their teamwork is suffering. It's music to her ears when the Clippings Book sends the Librarians to a team building summer camp run by a self-help guru. There've been some odd disappearances at the camp, and of course they'll be looking into those, but Baird wouldn't mind if they get some team building in while they're at it. The problem is, every time they do a team building exercise, they're beaten by an oddly efficient group of hedge fund managers.

Episode 8 - And the Hidden Sanctuary

Cassandra announces that after some thinking, she's going to take a hiatus from her duties as a Librarian. Baird in particular is hurt by this revelation, but ever since Cassandra froze up during a mission she's been overcome by anxiety regarding the job. When she first signed up, her brain grape was a death sentence, allowing her to take mortal risks without a second thought. Now she's got a new lease on life, but with that comes an instinct for preservation. With that in mind, Cassandra crunched the numbers and found the safest town in America: Havenport.

Episode 9 - And a Town Called Feud

A group of Civil War reenactors is in the midst of a mock battle when they find an actual civil war ghost in their midst! The Librarians are called onto the case and head to a town called Feud, right on the Mason-Dixon line. It was recently renamed after evidence was found by the local historian, Janet Hedge, that two brothers, on opposite sides of the war, killed each other in a civil war battle in that town. Since the discovery, the town has become a tourist destination, with Hedge running the local museum. For many years, only one brother's half of the locket, separated and given to them each by their mother, has been displayed, but Hedge has just announced the other half has been found, so she's holding a celebration ceremony.

Episode 10 - And Some Dude Named Jeff

The Librarians are about to go off on an exciting adventure. They tell Jenkins to set the Door, but when he does so instead of Jenkins we see some other guy dressed in his clothes. The other Librarians don't seem to notice. Meanwhile, Jenkins wakes up in a strange bed. He's in some basement and in his closet there's just… a bunch of heavy metal T-Shirts? He looks in the mirror and he's shocked! He's switched bodies with some schlub named Jeff.

Episode 11 - And the Trial of the One

The day of Tethering has come! Since the beginning of the season, the Librarians have been preparing for one to make the ultimate commitment and become an immortal part of the Library. But with Flynn now gone, the full weight of this decision has truly settled in and none can seem to make that final promise. How can they blindly commit to a Library that imprisoned Nicole unjustly; to an institution that Flynn abandoned; that contains more mysteries than they can even imagine?

Episode 12 - And the Echoes of Memory

We're with Flynn, six months earlier, the day he supposedly resigned from the Library. As it turns out, Nicole faked Flynn's resignation and imprisoned him as part of her plot to make the Librarians question their allegiance to the Library. Flash forward then to Baird, as we left her after the events of "And the Trial of the One." She's alone and her memory of the Library is fading fast. Struggling to keep The Library alive, she recalls Flynn's technique of a memory palace. She creates her own holding tightly to specific visuals to lock her visualisation of The Library in place.
