Season 8 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Athens

Richard Ayoade is back on his travels starting in the cradle of civilization, Athens. Joining him for a mythic mini-break is comedy goddess Dawn French. To fuel their Greek comedy they begin with a generous helping of traditional doughnuts called loukoumades, one of the oldest recorded snacks in Greek history. The subsequent sugar rush propels them up the Acropolis to marvel at the ancient attractions.

  

Episode 2 - Porto

This week Nish Kumar joins Richard for a potter around Porto, Portugal’s second city. They start their trip with a welcome tipple of the city’s eponymous fortified wine whilst browsing for paperclips in their hotel, which doubles as one of Europe’s oldest stationery shops.

  

Episode 3 - Tallinn

DJ, Broadcaster and My Dad Wrote a Porno Podcaster Alice Levine joins Richard for a 48-hour fling around the Estonian capital Tallinn. Over two maxed out days Richard and Alice rip around the city’s most see-able sights, summit the country’s highest structure, nosh at its top Restaurant and stroke Sean Connery’s face.

  

Episode 4 - Hamburg

For the season finale, Richard is joined by comedy legend Bob Mortimer for a weekend away in Germany’s cosmopolitan second city, Hamburg. On arrival in the city’s warehouse district, they check in to a nautical-themed hotel which has shipping container decor and the welcome facility to compose a message in a bottle. They begin in earnest at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg’s latest landmark from where they get a 360 view of the city below.

  

Episode 5 - Travel Man Christmas Special: 96 Hours in Jordan

Comedian and Author David Baddiel joins Richard Ayoade for a supersized seasonal minibreak in Jordan. Over four frenetic days, they visit world-class wonders, jaw-dropping deserts and over-salted seas, follow in the footsteps of Prophets and legends, and criss-cross the country by road, rail, rotor, and hoof, picking up some special Christmas presents along the way.
