Episode 1 - Sassenach

While on a second honeymoon in Scotland with her husband after World War II, army nurse Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) steps through an ancient standing stone circle and awakes in 1743, where Scottish rebels save her from an assault by a royal army captain who happens to be her husband’s ancestor, only to take her further into the Scottish highlands.

  

Episode 2 - Castle Leoch

Following her rescue by Dougal (Graham McTavish), Claire (Caitriona Balfe) arrives at the MacKenzie clan’s Castle Leoch where she’s dogged by rumors that she’s a spy.

  

Episode 3 - The Way Out

As Castle Leoch is readied for a gathering of the MacKenzie clan, Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) attempt to treat a young poisoning victim places her at odds with a powerful priest who demands to perform an exorcism.

  

Episode 4 - The Gathering

As Claire (Caitriona Balfe) lays plans to escape during the Gathering, the rivalry between Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Dougal (Graham McTavish) intensifies.

  

Episode 5 - Rent

As she accompanies Dougal (Graham McTavish) on a trip to collect the rents owed to the MacKenzies’ Laird, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) witnesses brutality on both sides of the conflict between the Scottish rebels and the Royal Army.

  

Episode 6 - The Garrison Commander

As she and Dougal (Graham McTavish) are brought in to see a Royal Army commander, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) comes face to face with her assailant and Frank’s ancestor, Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies).

  

Episode 7 - The Wedding

To keep from being detained by Captain Randall, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) marries Jamie (Sam Heughan) in order to become part of the MacKenzie clan.

           

Episode 8 - Both Sides Now

As Claire (Caitriona Balfe) hangs on to hope that the magical stone circle at Craigh na Dun will return her to the 20th century, Frank (Tobias Menzies) gives up on finding her.

     

Episode 9 - The Reckoning

Jamie (Sam Heughan) and the Highlanders rescue Claire (Caitriona Balfe) from Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Back at the castle, politics threaten to tear Clan MacKenzie apart and Jamie's scorned lover, Laoghaire (Nell Hudson), attempts to win him back.

  

Episode 10 - By the Pricking of My Thumbs

Jamie hopes the newly arrived Duke of Sandringham will help lift the price from his head, while Claire attempts to save an abandoned child.

  

Episode 11 - The Devil's Mark

Claire and Geillis are on trial for witchcraft. Jamie manages to rescue Claire, but not before she discovers a secret about Geillis’s past.

  

Episode 12 - Lallybroch

Jamie and Claire return to Jamie's ancestral home, dredging up painful family memories.

  

Episode 13 - The Watch

Jamie finds himself between a rock and a hard place when a Redcoat deserter from his past resurfaces. Claire tends to a laboring Jenny while Jamie and Ian join The Watch on an ambush, resulting in devastating consequences.

  

Episode 14 - The Search

Claire and Jenny set out to rescue Jamie from his Redcoat captors. When Murtagh joins up, Jenny returns home to her family while Claire and the Highlander employ unorthodox tactics to send word to Jamie. When word finally arrives, the news is not what anyone had hoped for.

  

Episode 15 - Wentworth Prison

Jamie awaits his death sentence at Wentworth Prison, while Claire and the Highlanders desperately search for a rescue plan.

  

Episode 16 - To Ransom a Man’s Soul

A plan is put in place to attempt to free Jamie from Wentworth Prison where he is once again being held by his tormentor, Black Jack Randall.
