Episode 1 - Episode 1David and Karen arrive home with the twins. Josh feels jealous and goes to stay with Adam and Rachel. After he has left they miss him and decide to have children. Rachel tells Adam that Pete can't stay with them anymore and left with nowhere else to go, and despite Jenny's misgivings, he moves in with Jenny. David has a dinner party of work colleagues where Jenny meets Internet millionaire Robert. Karen's mother comes to stay and it transpires because she has left Karen's father.

Episode 2 - Episode 2Jenny, now feeling more secure, finally gives Pete his marching orders, and is forced to look for a new home. For Rachel and Adam, there's elation which turns to disappointment, and he begins to wonder if his cancer treatment has had a bigger effect on him than they had expected. Karen persuades David to become involved in a community attempt to save the playground, and he revels in the organisation - and he connects well with Jessica, one of the activists. While Jenny is pursued by Robert, the internet millionaire, Pete discovers something about his new landlord.

Episode 3 - Episode 3Rachel and Adam undergo their first treatment, but the chances of success are not good. As Pete begins an ill-starred relationship with Ramona, David is becoming more and more attracted to Jessica. To Karen's surprise, David plans a proper 40th birthday party - a fancy dress party! But how will the estranged partners cope when they're confronted by the new members of the group? And why has no-one bought a present for David....?

Episode 4 - Episode 4Rachel and Adam get a loan from the bank to help them afford further pregnancy treatments. Karen is becoming suspicious about David and Jessica, but are David's feelings for Jessica too strong to resist? And what is going on between Karen and an old flame, Miles Brodie? Meanwhile, Robert and Jenny are spending more time together with her son little Adam - a situation which is sure to annoy Pete. And finally there's some devastating news for Rachel - and she offers Adam his freedom, because she cannot conceive...

Episode 5 - Episode 5Rachel and Adam organises a dinner to announce their engagement, but Karen sows some seeds of doubt in her mind. Pete's discovery of the Internet leads to a very unorthodox meeting. Karen and Miles continue to meet, and when Jenny, out of work again, bumps into them, he offers her a job organising his new exhibition; this leads to her falling our with Karen, and Robert becomes worried about the time she is spending on it. David, meanwhile, is unfaithful for the first time, and Rachel comes to a momentous decision.

Episode 6 - Episode 6It's the Hen and Stag weekend. Pete has arranged a surprise trip to Belfast, where Adam takes them around sites of his 'conquests', including where he lost his virginity to Jane Fitzpatrick. For the girls, it's a health farm, where they all get drunk and play 'truth or dare', and the secret about Jenny and Adam's kiss is revealed; how will Rachel react? On the stag night, Adam is confronted by his feelings for Jane when she turns up, but how is he going to feel when he wakes up in her bed the next morning? And Pete realises that David is having an affair, and loses his temper with him...

Episode 7 - Episode 7Rachel and Adam's preparations for the wedding encounter problems - they have wildly differing ideas of how it should be. Adam buys Rachel an engagement ring that she hates and then loses. Pete is happily dating Emma and asks Jenny for a divorce. Jenny is chucked by Robert. David ends it with Jessica. Karen runs after and knocks out a man attempting to steal her car and is arrested. She and David have a row about the state of their marriage.

Episode 8 - Episode 8Adam and Rachel's wedding day arrives and Pete decides to catch it all on his camcorder. But as Best Man, he has forgotten to book a car, and they have to go to the Registry Office on his motorbike. As Robert and Jenny split, he tells her about David's affair with Jessica. In fact, everyone but Karen knows, but will David tell her the truth...? Now that Jenny and Pete are both single again, they find that they are drawn to one another - and Pete has some advice - and revelations - to give during his Best Man's speech. Rachel's parents are shocked to find out a few home truths, but when Rachel stands up to them they walk out....
