Episode 1 - Episode 1The second series sees Adam in a depressed state having not heard from Rachel for six months. Meanwhile, she returns to Manchester and all her friends are eager to know who the father of her baby is. Jenny is unhappy in her marriage and Pete thinks a new living room will cheer her up, but has a shock when she tells him how she really feels.

Episode 2 - Episode 2David decides to look after his son Josh rather than get a new job. Pete visits Adam at work and punches him when he learns that Adam and Jenny kissed each other. Meanwhile Adam is entertaining two semi-naked women when Rachel arrives at his house ready to declare her love for him.

Episode 3 - Episode 3Rachel goes out with a man seven years younger than her and Jenny convinces Adam to apply to a 'lonely hearts' column. Adam, his blind date, Rachel and Danny all end up dating in the same restaurant, much to the dismay of Adam. Meanwhile, David and Karen both plan wedding anniversary surprises for each other that lead to misunderstandings and heartache.

Episode 4 - Episode 4Karen is going through a mid-life crisis, smoking dope, getting a tattoo, throwing away designer clothes and shocking David's friends. A school reunion leads to a disastrous date with Adam's old teacher for Rachel and Jenny finds out about Pete's affair.

Episode 5 - Episode 5David's younger brother Nick visits and has a fling with Rachel. Adam discovers that he has testicular cancer which prompts Jenny and Pete to give their marriage another go. Rachel tells Adam how she really feels about him and they get back together.

Episode 6 - Episode 6David organises a trip to Holy Island for the millennium where everything seems to go wrong. Everybody finds David too bossy and Adam and Pete set fire to their hired boat whilst at sea. As the clock strikes twelve Adam and Rachel make plans for the future, Karen and David reveal some happy news and Pete and Jenny's marriage hangs in the balance.
