After Raymond asks Debra why she ever married him, they take a walk back in time -- to the very beginning of it all. Raymond is very, very nervous. At least for five minutes. Then the "nervous" turns into "pure fear" when Ray wonders if she really wants to marry him for love -- or if it's just for the elaborate wedding she's been planning since she was twelve.

Ray fears that Debra is more interested in the wedding than in him. With wedding plans in "runaway train" mode, Ray feels lost amid the endless discussion of veils, bands, appetizers, and wedding vows. He is convinced that he is but a pawn in Debra's dream wedding fantasy.

When Ray's house is tented for termites, he moves his entire family into his parent's house and gives Frank and Marie a taste of their own medicine. Marie's initial excitement that "Raymond has come home!" quickly fades when the world's greatest home intruders start to feel intruded upon.

Feeling overwhelmed with her responsibilities, Debra decides to get a babysitter. But when Lisa, the babysitter, becomes the smash hit at "Space Station Barone" with her alien-catching games and endless energy, Debra develops into a jealous mother. To become the kids' favorite again, Debra replaces the babysitter with Grandma.

After Raymond begrudgingly agrees to be the auctioneer at the Our Lady of Faith School auction for new playground equipment, he's pleasantly surprised with the laughs he gets at Debra's expense. Debra warns him that she's going to get even, and then retracts her threat.

When Debra's mother comes to visit the family for a week, Debra finds herself shocked to discover that she wishes her mom were more like Marie. After Debra suggests that she might be more consistently romantic if she weren't in charge of the birth control, Ray decides to make the drastic move of "cutting the wires." But after a discussion with Robert, and other top "medical experts" he chickens out, but does muster enough bravery to go to the drugstore and buy "the stuff."

Feeling pathetic because he lives with his parents, Robert finally musters up the courage to move out on his own. Encouraged by Ray, and much to his parents' horror, Robert packs up his bags, takes his dog and moves into a garage apartment. But the move affects the family more than they anticipated.

Debra gets annoyed with Ray when he seems pleased that she's picked one of her attractive friends to replace her if she dies. When Marie informs them an elderly neighbor, Rose Caputo, passed away, Frank wonders why Marie is taking the news so hard and she reveals she had chosen Rose to "replace" her.

  

Episode 167 - Season 7, Episode 21: The Shower

Debra gives a bridal shower for Amy, but her good intentions get sidetracked by Marie's overzealous participation. When Marie attempts to "take over" Amy's wedding shower, Debra gets upset and yells at her, prompting Marie to leave in a huff.

Ray and Debra wind up in a two-week standoff over a suitcase. When Robert asks Ray if he can borrow a suitcase sitting on the stairway landing for his honeymoon, Ray explains he and Debra have been locked in an "unspoken" battle of wills since a weekend trip over who is responsible for putting the suitcase away.

When the twins wind up having a great time with Ray on the golf course, a tightly wound Debra admits to her lackadaisical husband that she's disappointed they no longer have fun together.

When Amy becomes annoyed that Marie is already asking when she's going to send out their thank you notes from the wedding, Debra seizes the opportunity to convince her friend to join forces against her mother in-law's reign of aggravation.

When Michael stays home from school for two days in a row, Ray suspects he simply has homework he hasn't finished, but Michael claims that's not the case. When Debra and Ray become embroiled in an argument in front of Robert, he tells Ray that in order to find happiness with Debra, he needs to be more affectionate with her. Tired of using Frank, Debra is pleased when she finds out Gianni can install a new stove in their kitchen. However, the thrill of having a contractor in the house gets old fast when Gianni starts taking his sweet time to complete the job.

Although Robert initially tries to be civil with his houseguest, he finally loses it when Peter confronts him in front of Ray and Debra about why Robert is treating him so poorly. When Ray lies to his mother to get out of spending the evening with her, the lie grows when Debra and the twins cover for him. Then, Robert tries to spill the beans and even more lies are told. However, when Ray and Debra start lying to each other, they wind up having a huge fight.

Episode 185 - Season 8, Episode 15: Party Dress

After finding out that Peggy, the mom he loves to hate, is hosting an elegant birthday celebration in honor of her daughter, Ray takes Ally dress shopping and is disgusted when he finds out that he has to shell out a small fortune so that his daughter can attend the event.

Robert gets caught in the middle when Marie and Amy argue about whether he should retire from the police force.

After including stories about Robert, Frank and Marie in his speech, Ray is horrified when Amy clues him in on his huge omission. Feeling guilty for this major oversight, Ray must now figure out a way to make it up to Debra.

When Robert informs Ray that Amy filled him in on some juicy gossip about him, Ray decides to get even with Debra by sharing some nasty secrets of his own.

After a modeling agent tells Robert he has a unique look, he convinces him to pose for head shots with their "in-house" photographer. But when Robert and Ray return for the pictures, they are surprised to find the modeling agency has mysteriously disappeared.

  

Episode 192 - Season 8, Episode 22: The Mentor

A young man, Sam Gilula, arrives at Frank and Marie's and everyone is surprised when he and Frank fondly embrace. Sam explains Frank had been quite an inspiration to him as a lad, a mentor in fact, much to Ray and Robert's disbelief.

  

Episode 193 - Season 8, Episode 23: Golf for It

Robert and Ray end up with the mother of all guilt trips when they decide not to help Marie with a home project so they can land a prime spot on the golf course. Their overnight wait in the car for a tee time becomes a brawl over their respective roles in their parents' future.

  

Episode 194 - Season 9, Episode 1: The Home

After Frank and Marie have a wonderful time visiting old friends, they deliver the shocking news to the family that they have decided to buy a condo in New Jersey. Ray, Debra, Robert and Amy can barely contain their happiness now that their nagging parents will live eighty-five minutes away.

  

Episode 195 - Season 9, Episode 2: Not So Fast

Robert's anxiety gets the best of him when Amy puts her personal touch on their newly acquired home. Amy starts by attacking Frank's "odor" with lilac air fresheners, throwing out Marie's salt and pepper shakers and replacing the old dial phone.

  

Episode 196 - Season 9, Episode 3: Angry Sex

Ray craftily turns what looks to be misfortune, after Debra and Marie fight, into a night of passion by helping Debra channel her emotions into what he terms, "angry sex."

Following a PTA meeting, Debra comments on Ray's sloppy attire, and Ray tells Debra that he overheard one of the mothers say that she looked "trampy." Amy does not help matters when she admires Debra for wearing "young" clothes that aren't necessarily age appropriate.

  

Episode 198 - Season 9, Episode 5: Ally's F

Debra and Ray are astonished when Ally comes home with an "F" in math on her report card. Ray and Debra set up a meeting with Ally's math teacher, Mr. Putnam, to see what she could do to improve.

  

Episode 199 - Season 9, Episode 6: Boy's Therapy

Ray's unwillingness to share parental responsibilities with Debra sparks a conversation about his own childhood. Debra, Amy and Marie convince Ray and Frank to accompany Robert to see his therapist, Dr. Greenberg. Moments after arriving at Dr. Greenberg's office, Ray and Frank coerce Robert to ditch therapy and go to the racetrack instead.

  

Episode 200 - Season 9, Episode 7: Debra's Parents

Debra invites her divorced parents to Thanksgiving dinner. Marie agrees to let Lois stay with her while Warren sleeps in Ray and Debra's bed. Ray is traumatized when he goes to his room and walks in on Lois and Warren having sex.

  

Episode 201 - Season 9, Episode 8: A Job for Robert

Wondering why Marie is being extra nice to Robert and Amy, Ray discovers her plan: she wants grandchildren. Robert shares his disbelief with Amy that they are being "played" by Marie. Together, they confront Marie about her manipulative efforts in getting them to breed.

  

Episode 202 - Season 9, Episode 9: A Date for Peter

Amy's parents are concerned that Peter is lonely and should start a family. Ray unwillingly goes to Peter's to give him some dating advice and encouragement. When that fails, Ray and Debra throw a cocktail party at their home to introduce Peter to eligible women.

  

Episode 203 - Season 9, Episode 10: Favors

Ray frantically rummages through the kitchen drawer so he can show Andy and Gianni a personalized letter from Muhammed Ali. Debra is immediately assumed guilty and denies all blame, but later confesses to Marie that she lied to Ray and accidentally threw the letter out.

  

Episode 204 - Season 9, Episode 11: The Faux Pas

Ray is dumbfounded when he realizes the magnitude of the blunder he made while at a Knicks game with Michael and Geoffrey's friend, Chris. Ray commented that the janitors would pick up Chris' mess, not knowing that Chris' dad, George, works as a custodian at the kid's school.

  

Episode 205 - Season 9, Episode 12: Tasteless Frank

Marie is astounded when Frank puts salt on her homemade lasagna. While Debra and Amy console Marie, Ray and Robert discover that Frank lost his sense of taste from taking special herb pills for his "foot." Ray and Robert reveal to their wives the truth about Frank's problem.

  

Episode 206 - Season 9, Episode 13: Sister-In-Law

Ray tells Robert that Amy is a chatterbox because she wouldn't stop talking to him while he was watching a basketball game. Ray's comment hurt Amy, but Robert cutting her off while she is talking angers her.

  

Episode 207 - Season 9, Episode 14: The Power of No

Ray decides to watch the overtime of a basketball game instead of having sex with Debra. The next day, Debra gives Ray the "look" that she wants to have sex, but later that night Ray surprises Debra by denying her once again.

  

Episode 208 - Season 9, Episode 15: Pat's Secret

Robert is shocked when he catches Pat smoking a cigarette, but is thrilled to be part of Pat's dirty little secret. Robert continues to seize this opportunity to bond with Pat by taking a drag of a cigarette. When Amy smells smoke on Robert, his family accuses him of being a smoker.

  

Episode 209 - Season 9, Episode 16: The Finale

Ray is admitted to the hospital for minor surgery, but unexpectedly falls into a coma. The family, fearing the worst, experiences a number of heart-warming flashbacks.
