Episode 2 - Girl Lookin' Rough

After Trent attempts to highlight Amber's hair, she realizes that it's time for a professional makeover. Meanwhile, Alex is suffering back pain and meets with doctors to determine if he needs surgery.

     

Episode 3 - Alex Has a Little Crush

It's the last day of school and all are excited except Alex, who has a crush on his teacher. To stave off summer boredom, Trent and Amber take the kids on a vacation, but Jonah's attitude threatens to ruins everyone's fun.

     

Episode 4 - Life's Too Short to Be Angry

The Johnstons' bathroom renovation leads to extra stress on both the family dynamics and Trent and Amber's relationship. Meanwhile, Emma works to overcome her shyness before cheerleading camp.

When the Johnstons are invited to a pool party, Amber knows some of the family need swimming lessons. Alex and Emma take lessons, but Trent insists he knows how to swim despite Amber's doubts.

After a miserable trip to pick peaches in the family's van with 300,000 miles and no air conditioning, everyone decides it's time to say goodbye. Emma gets a roller skating party for her 10th birthday.

Alex's routine MRI on his back turns serious when he stops breathing while under sedation, which terrifies Amber. Meanwhile, the family disagrees on whether or not they should adopt goats.

     

Episode 8 - There's No 'I' in Trent

Amber's biological dad plans to visit for the first time in five years, and Amber is nervous. The family plans a yard sale, but Trent is too nostalgic and doesn't want to sell anything.

     

Episode 9 - My Two Dads

Amber heads to the beach with her adopted dad, Trent and the kids. A stop at her aunt's house raises questions about what her biological dad really thinks of her.

     

Episode 10 - Big Daddy Eagle Scout

With summer coming to an end and school starting soon, Trent wants the family to have one more memory-making adventure. Against Amber's better judgment, the family heads out to go camping in August -- in Georgia.

     

Episode 11 - Alex's Surgery

As little people, the Johnstons are used to having many surgeries. But since Alex stopped breathing while under anesthesia during his recent MRI, the family has become more nervous about his upcoming tonsillectomy.
